Hi everyone, I'm on the Sept 16th sailing and someone from your sailing may have already shared this info but in case they hadn't -
I emailed DCL and asked which nights were planned for pirate, semi-formal and formal night on our cruise before I booked Palo & nursery time and got this reply. Thought I'd share with anyone else interested!
"7-Night Pacific Coast Cruise
*Nights 1, 3, 4, 7: cruise casual
*Night 2: "semi-formal night" - semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket;
for women: dress or pantsuit.
*Night 5: "formal night" - formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for
women: gown or dress
*Night 6: pirate night with deck party - cruise casual or bring your
best pirate outfit!
"
I just thought about
The Pacific Pixar Porthoppers

The Pixar Pacific Porthoppers
or
Porthopping the Pacific with Pixar
...LOL maybe it's time to go to bed!
My favorite is To SF... and Beyond
My sister and I love the idea of the bracelets but because we live so far away were afraid they wont get here in time and shipping is very expensive. Is there any way we could collect ours from the meet up at 3PM on the Sunday? If not then don't worry about us
61 Days until we leave New Zealand!!![]()

DH Chuck likes The INCREDIBLE California Coasters
I vote for Woody's West Coast Round Up
Question to those who are voting for To SF and Beyond... should it be SF, SanFran or San Francisco? Definately not Frisco... I just read that it's the local "F" word. (click virtualtourist.com -San Francisco Nicknames then scroll down to read the post "Don't use the F Word" for this and other helpful tips to stay in the good graces of the locals).
There was some feedback that our cruise name shouldn't be a single port like San Francisco. What do you think? Is there something better that keeps the Buzz Lightyear quote? To The Coast and Beyond? To The Golden Gate and Beyond?![]()
We're late seating as well.... maybe we'll see you. Breakfast and lunch is open seating in the restaurants and the buffet, so you're bound to see everyone at a meal eventually
The rotation and dinner seating is assigned... and we've always been matched with table mates that were a great fit. As with everything Disney, I'm betting you can change you dining when you board if you made a special request. Personally I'd like to be in Parrot Cay for Pirate Night and Triton's for Formal Night, but it doesn't even rotate that way.![]()
Maybe someone else has a reason one rotation is better than another... but I can't say it really matters. Any theme of the night is carried flawlessly through all three restaurants. You're in each restaurant 2-3 times, so even going to Palo you won't miss anything![]()
We were assigned the Parrot Cay for Pirate Night and Triton's for Formal night on our last cruise at the request of someone in our party of 18 so sometimes they do grant the request. And you are right, that rotation is not available on this cruise any ways.
The only thing that I would not want to miss is the show in Animator's Palate the first night you dine in there. That might be a reason to schedule Palo dinner later in the week. If you find that it conflicts, after you get onboard you can go to Wavebands, I think it is Wavebands, and talk to the Dining desk about changing your rotation or the Palo desk about changing your reservation. There is also a Spa representative here to make any changes or arrange spa appointments. I want to say it opens at 1:00 p.m. but I can't remember.
Here's a question about dining...will there be a character breakfast? I always thought the character breakfasts were on sea days and that they were in Parrot Cay so each rotation had a character breakfast on a sea day in Parrot Cay. With only 2 sea days will they not do a character breakfast or have two character breakfasts going on at once...spreading Mickey and Friends real thin![]()
wenuwish said:It's pre-assigned, you'll find out which rotation you have once you board. If you would like to swap you can talk to guest services and they'll do their best to accommodate you I am sure, but sometimes that's just not possible.
There is really no difference between them, you won't miss out on something you'll just get it on another night. The only reason I can see for wanting to swap is if you say, really, really wanted to be seated in Tritons on formal night or something like that. Hope that helps!
