Is there going to be some kind of DVC preso on the ship? I scanned the nav's and didnt see one, but is there always ? :P

Yes, there are a few. They are on the navigators but are hard to find.

Heads up to all FE participants...

Some of my gifts are breakable. That being said I am packaging them with bubble wrap but if you are flying or not feeling to sure here is a heads up throw a bit of bubble wrap in your bag. Not a whole roll just a sheet :)

I've looked through all the Navigators.... I couldn't resist!:hyper::hyper::hyper: I'm sooo excited for Sunday! Now I need to start packing for dd and myself... ::yes::

I'd also like to do a shout out to my 3 favorite friends...

NyQuil
Tylenol Cold and Sinus
and Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup.

Without you 3 I'd still be in bed with my cold!

Thank You

I would say shame on you but I did the same thing :)

Hopefully you will kick that cold to the curb before sunday! :P:crazy2:

Well, I caved. :-) But I'm only letting myself look at the first day and that's mostly b/c we've never cruised before and I wanted to know what to expect as far as what the schedule looks like, how much detail it gives, and how busy things really are!

OOOooooh, I wanna look so bad! But I'm making myself be surprised. That being said, I really appreciated your (non-spoiler) summary here. Thank you so much :-)

Thanks for the heads-up! Adding a sheet of bubble wrap to my list :-)

And speaking of giving FE participants a heads-up, I wanted to let folks know the logic behind my gift giving... I made something unique for each child in a stateroom. But if there were no kids in a stateroom, then I made something for the adults (the same for everyone) and in that case, it's just one thing for all the adults (unless I had info that the adults were participating separately). Hope that's not too confusing...

Thanks for the heads up Sigris. I finally finished mine and realized while packaging I might have gone overboard for the kids and skimped on the adults :( Live and learn....I'll also have to think lighter next time, hopefully the 20lbs won't put us over the limit :)

Lol. Glad you're feeling better!!

Ah, it looks like there are no $2 seats left :( sorry about that! They would show under the "Plaza Outfield and Plaza Reserved" sections, which aren't available. I guess since it's the last game of the regular season they got snatched up early. You can definitely wait and do walk up, but then you do run the risk of it possibly being sold out. If it's not something you're sure you want to do though, then I would wait to buy them in person or at least closer to the date :)

I'm not sure if you were planning on visiting the Disney Museum, but it is only open on Wednesday while you are here also. It is sadly closed on Tuesdays, so you might want to consider going to the Tuesday night A's game instead, if you were hoping to do both. Despite what some people may, taking BART to the Oakland Coliseum at night is perfectly safe --- they have Disney on Ice there every year! lol You're also not too far from the City that you could also do the Disney Museum as a day trip on another day!

That's okay about the A's. We can get some seats fairly cheap. I spoke with ticket master and right now there are plenty of seats available. We went to many A's games years ago when we lived on Treasure Island. They used to have the picnic days where the first xxx of people got a sack lunch from Safeway I think it was. Many years ago. :rotfl:

And thanks for the info on the Disney Museum. We almost went July 4 when we were there but figured it would be way too crowded. And you are right, SF is a day trip for us. This is more DH and me time and visiting with his older brother who we don't get to see too often.

Glad you are feeling a bit better. Get it out of your system because next week we want you 100%.

I printed the navigators out but haven't looked at them yet. From first glance, I thought the graphics were neat!

It's completely normal to have a separate suitcase with all of your FE right???:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Good thing we decided to buy Charly her own seat on the plane looks like we will need the extra luggage allowance... Ha! Anyone else feel like you are packing the entire house :scratchin

These were the FE gifts my parents gave out on their cruise last month. Don't worry it only took 1 1/2 suitcases! :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thank you all for the info on bringing food on board :) I will keep it in mind!

The cupcake shop at Ghirardelli Square, Kara's Cupcakes, is indeed, good. :) There are lots of other bakeries not too far from the dock, too. To name a few: Miette, Cupcake Cove, Victoria Pastry, and Stella's.

As most of you will probably be taking a trip to the Walt Disney Museum, I wanted to note a possible FREE transportation option. The Walt Disney Museum is located in the Presidio (a park area and former military base) at the very top left of the city, which is clear across the city from where your cruise ship will be docking. There is a shuttle which goes to the Presidio that is free and as far as I know, fairly reliable (since it has to transport lots of George Lucas' employees :rotfl2:): http://www.presidio.gov/visit/transportation/Pages/shuttle.aspx Just an option to keep in mind if you will be going from downtown to the Presidio!

Would this take us to the presidio golf course? We plan on playing golf the 2nd day and that would be great if we didn't have to get a taxi.

Ah, there used to be so many good perks when going to games... nowadays, they give out bobbleheads for just about every game here but then everyone is painfully lining up three hours ahead of game time in the wind and cold for the chance to get one!

The downtown to Presidio shuttle will not take you directly to the Presidio golf course; it is just meant to get you from downtown to the main working areas of the Presidio. But once you are inside the Presidio, you can switch to the teal "Crissy Fields - Around the Park" shuttle line (also free and run by the same people) which will go to the golf course. Or you could also walk there --- I imagine it is about a 15 minute walk :)

Here is the Map and Schedule for the Around the Park shuttle: http://www.presidio.gov/visit/transportation/Documents/PresidiGoSchedule_AroundThePark.pdf

Yes, if you can, don't take a taxi! Taxis are awfully expensive in the City; I'm guessing the trip from downtown to the Presidio would easily be around $60-80. Better to save the money on food, entertainment, and souvenirs!!
