September 29,2013 - DVC Member Cruise

They contacted my friend who is getting married. She switched us all to the 10/6/13 sailing. Sounds like we got price matching and a 200 OBC.

So you never got a call from any manager. That really was strange yesterday. Sounds like they provided the same deal as in the past. I assume you were able to get the HA cabin.

Wow, why does it feel like they're handing out pink slips?!?

I did check my moms res and yes she got a HA room. Right off the midship elevators on deck 2. I am still awaiting my callback. We will see. If not I have a insider at DCL in celebration that can give me my finer points.

Still waiting to hear back from DVC. We want to stay on the cruise but need to figure out logistics with them. Also working on getting reservation back from TA so DH can deal with it directly.

I do not mean this in a negative way as everyone is different so I respect your choice in using a TA, but this is the exact reason why I will not use a TA. I like to handle things myself. I wish you luck.

We normally do not use a TA for anything except Disney cruises to get an OBC. Generally speaking once we pick our date we are set and only use the TA to make payments or move a dummy date. This is the first time we've had anything like this happen and I doubt it's something we will run into very often.

If we didn't have DVC involved we'd be happy to have the TA switch our dates and not have the hassle.

I agree. I do not think this will happen to you often, but to me it seems DCL is pulling this stuff more and more now.

:listen: No phone call for me yet. Seems like the blind leading the blind. No disrespect intended.

Husurdady: Thanks for the link, but when I click on it, it starts to go to that site, then switches over the the regular DCL website.

Hi Chris ,

It did the same when I click on to it also.....I got the info from the Disdiscussion forms....scroll down to The DVC Mousecellaneous......then scroll down to 2013 DVC MEMBERS CRUISE.....then scroll down to the #4 ERIONM....then click on to his link.....some good info....sorry it didn't work on here for us.....it has all the point/cash cost for each room cat on the two DVC M-cruises for 2013 on there..........By-the-way how is DON doing?....tell him that DON the HOOSIER DADDY said HI!

Checked out those rates Husurdady directed us to......We have/had a 7A booked, paid $1391 with the onboard booking discount and got the $100 room credit. The DVC rates for this cat, for 2 is $2672 and that would be with no $100 room credit!!!!!! Almost twice what we paid. That is crazy.
Do they really give DVC members $1300 in gifts on those cruises to make up for the fare difference????

Just noticed the link to your new thread. Seems a little callous. There are members who have been on this thread for almost a year now.

Agreed. So sad. :( I remember how excited I was when I saw there was a cruise meet thread for our cruise so early!

Is anyone else a little upset that they are sending out flyers in the mail about the member cruise which obviously had to be printed up at least a week or so ago, and with design time probably about 2-3 weeks in the works. That means it was done that long ago. Maybe I am wrong. I don't know.

Sorry it was misinterpreted wrong. We already were discussing this on facebook and since it is now officially the Member's cruise we wanted to create a thread for that cruise specifically. You are more than welcome to come over and join or not. No offense is taken either way. :thumbsup2

On another note I feel bad for everyone who was already booked on this regular cruise. I do think they should offer you something for changing or allow you to stay but we all know the communication between DCL and DVC is not always perfect. I suspect that it you are a DVC member who had already booked this as a regular cruise you would be able to keep you rooms but they probably won't give you final confirmation till either right before or the day of open booking for DVC members.

It's a members' cruise with no passengers other than my group right now. So welcome to "our" cruise! The only offense taken is by current "members" already booked on it. We are well aware of DVC policy regarding these situations, so if you do decide to book...Welcome aboard! :thumbsup2

I feel your timing is in very poor taste. The facebook group appears to be yourself and two friends you solicitied. I'm not clear on what your purpose is but you are disregarding everyone on this cruise right now, including those us who are members. This is not appreciated. At the very least you should have waited.

Hi

Me and DW are now off this cruise. Not a very nice experience with DCL quite upset about it actually. We were so looking forward to meeting you all. Thanks for everybody's help. We all were so excited such a shame. Paula
