What's Buc-ee's? (I spelled incorrectly in my post.) Why you have been deprived on road trips! Never fear, there is still time to visit and get a T-shirt. I do my best to hold it unless I can get to Buc-ee's or a Cracker Barrel. Even cleaner than Cracker Barrels, Buc-ee's is the place with the clean bathrooms, gasoline, and they are open 24 hours.

There is a nice large Buc-ee's off I45 north of Hunstville in Madisonville. It would be a good place to stop before driving on through to Galveston.

We will be driving from Corpus and it should take us about 4 hours. We'll be driving up on Friday so we don't have to rush.

Buc-ee's is a great place to stop for gas and the bathroom. They have the nicest, cleanest restrooms I have ever seen. There is one in Madisonville (I-45 & Hwy 21) if you are headed south from Dallas/Ft Worth.

Buc-ee's is great! You have to try their home-made potato chips!
When we go west usually make a stop at the one on West I-10 at Luling!!

Two weeks from today, I am leaving to go to Galveston. Since I won't be participating in the convention with my sister and BIL, I will probably do a lot of reading while they are busy. I'm so glad the FE gifts are finished! now I just have to pack.

Oh my!! I just looked at the menus for the cruise. AMAZING!! But how in world am I going to be able to eat everything? I'm going to gain back the 15 pounds I lost...maybe more! I guess I'm going to have to find time to exercise.

My mouth is watering already!

We have never stopped at Buccees but I have a friend who says you HAVE to try the beaver nuggets. No, not meat. It's a snack food that she says tastes like caramel but has the texture of a puffy cheeto. She said they also have a fudge bar and beef jerkey bar!

I actually am bringing some of those cotton foldover skirts, comfy and gives me room so I'm not miserable if I overeat!

I've been dieting for the wedding, so I'm looking forward to the food and not worrying about watching calories

We live in Grand Prairie. We will be driving to Houston Friday afternoon and staying with my parents. Then they will drive us down to Galveston Saturday morning.

So, what's buckee's? I'm curious

If you've never been to Buckee's you should definitely stop. It has the nicest, cleanest bathrooms ever! It is like a tourist attraction. Just keep in mind that it is not a quick stop since there is so much there and so many people stop there. It may be easier to stop on the way back to DFW since it is on the east side of the highway.

I'm laughing at all the Bucee's posts this morning!! We've never stopped, but my sister acts as if it's the highlight to any trip they take!!

We passed it the last time we went down to Corpus, but we didn't stop. If we pass one this time I guess we'll have to stop and check it out!

It is definitely an interesting place!! I think the big draw is the clean restrooms--and then the kids get caught up in the "I wants!"

I will need to workout though so I can enjoy all the delicious food without wondering if I will be able to fit in my clothes by the end of the cruise. I'm sure I have a t-shirt and suitable shorts I can wear. And it will be fun to have a workout buddy. Although my gym is just running around the house or doing the Wii.

And I can't believe y'all haven't stopped at Buc-ee's! The cleanest bathrooms you've ever seen! And private!! They also have interesting treats. I think we'll have to take the hwy towards Houston just so we can stop at Buc-ee's in Wharton. It's only an extra 4 minutes.

I know...we JUST had this conversation last week at a homeschool playdate. One of the Moms went on and on about how great it is She said the bathrooms are AMAZINGLY clean and there are a million stalls. She is the one who told me about the jerkey bar & fudge bar. I might twist Hubby's arm and get him to stop for me.

So what are we doing today? Been studying the Roaring 20s in history, and part of our lesson was watching Steamboat Willie & thought we'd share!

We had seen clips but never the whole thing. Love that we can incorporate stuff like Mickey into our history studies Babe Ruth, Charles Lindbergh, flappers, Mickey Mouse, Charlie Chaplan...it's been fun around here! And we just watched Singin' In The Rain for the first time ever. LOVED it. I'm still amazed that old movies (but especially Charlie Chaplan) interest my 9yo son so much. In a world of video games, 3D movies, high-tech everything, some things really DO stand the test of time! We spent about an hour last week with him on my lap & both of us laughing at different Charlie Chaplan videos.
