September 29, 2012 - Ropin' Some Magic in the Western Caribbean

I called Disney to ask about the special nights... this is what they told me.
formal night is 23rd
pirate night is 25th
semi formal night is 27th

I will be able to give y'all more info after the first week. I will try to post something mid week.

Yes!! I feel like such a pioneer...lol I'm hoping we get something in our room that shows 'cruise at a glance' on this one. Love those!! :thumbsup2
But I've been on a couple DCL cruises where the captain, or cruise director changed things around once we got going, so we'll see what happens.

For those just joining the group.... :welcome:party::jumping1:

Yep.. I have been on those that got changed too. Sometimes the weather can make a difference in DCL planned activities.

We will be in Houston 1 week from today and on the boat one week from tomorrow.... can't wait to see ya sis!

For all the newcomers, I also have extra FE's, please let us know names/ages/cabin number/gender :) :welcome:

Well the good news is that I have lost the weight I wanted to! :cool1:

The not-so-good news is that my formal wear is a little loose in a particular area where it shouldn't be. :scratchin So....I've pinned it! Hope it works because I can't afford to buy a new one.

I am able to fit into my semi-formal from 6 years ago though and since it is a classic style I can wear it!:thumbsup2 I am bringing exercise shorts and shirts because I am determined not to put all the weight back on!

Now, I need to finish our pirate outfits. pirate: And put the logos on the t-shirts.

15 MORE DAYS!!!

Got home to find a message on my machine - yes we still have a land line - about the boat departing at 3pm instead of 4pm and that we need to make sure we are on board before then. Did anyone else get this message?

I got an email from my TA that "all aboard" was at 3:30 instead of 4pm. This email was sent a few days ago. Is it 3pm now??:hourglass

Well, it was actually a confusing message. First the CM said 'DCL has moved up the all aboard time to 3:30pm', then at the end of the message she said 'be sure to be on board in time for the 3pm off time. I booked through DVC so everything I get is from them or DCL. We had a 2:30pm board time due to our ride but now a little worried.:(

I got the email directly from DCL and it said the following:

"As you plan for your arrival to the Port of Galveston in Cruise Terminal 2, we want to let you know that all guests must be onboard by 3:30pm in time to attend the mandatory assembly drill scheduled at 3:45pm. The Disney Magic will be sailing promptly at 4:30pm.

Should you have any questions about this notification, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-939-2784."

So I think the 3pm is a mistake, you just have to be onboard by 3:30. Hope this helps.

Got the same email, and we got a phone call stating the same thing... need to be on board the ship by 3:30 pm.

So... does this mean we're changing the DIS meet and greet time to an earlier time?

Are you sure of those numbers? I thought deck 2 was the lowest deck for passengers.

Thanks for posting those cabin numbers....I'm sure your boys will find some pixie dust... :cool1:

I stayed on deck 1 before and really liked it. It is nice and quiet. It does get a little stuffy sometimes so you might want to take a small fan for your room. It really helps.

Thanks for the tip. Think I will bring a little fan...Was probably some of the last rooms. We didn’t book until a week ago. My sister and mine schedules with work are alittle crazy. Flying into Austin from California where I work, picking up my crew then driving down to Galveston! :drive: I just wanted to be on the ship really didn’t care if they stuck us in the engine room! We just needed a vacation..:beach:..Looking forward to meeting everyone.:wave2:
