bethsg: Yes Yes Yes - Sleepy and I will definately be at the wine tasting. I am not really into martinis. We plan not get off ship on Fri. We have spa treatments in the late morning and then plan on going to the wine tasting that afternoon. :ccat:

We have early seating for dinner - we wanted to have the evening free to go to the shows as well as piano bar etc. Also figure that the early seating will have alot of kids - so we can get our kid fix (ie remember why we came on the cruise alone without DD6 :rotfl2: )

One other question - how to we park/get luggage to the port? I read a post where someone was walking aimlessly around the parking area. I am a planner!! I need to know step-by-step how to park our car and get into the port. Are there signs??? We plan on getting there early (10-11 ish). Any help will be appreciated.

Happy Labor Day!

Doc - an official welcome. Great to see you have your own sign on. Now you just have to make sure you post as you. DH has a logon that he uses rarely and every once in awhile he posts as me!

We are fine with a 2:00 meet. We will be at the port at 10 and the kids are going to want to swim so we will most likely be at the pool earlier so look for our green bracelets!

I think Fallon answered all the questions. I also bought the TSA locks with the alert feature from ebay. (Of course, we bought the lime green ones!) If you use the zip ties TSA could cut them off. If they don't cut them off the clippers on an outside pocket are so you can cut them off when you get to your destination.

I purchased Bonine for seasickness after reading about it on these boards. DH is the only one I really worry about but hopefully he will be OK.

Door Signs - I am going to make a door sign today! I printed the Mickey Ears from the door sign thread which go above the room number and am on my way to Home Depot to get some colored Mickey Heads. I still need to figure out what I am putting on our actual sign. My plan is to finish it all today and laminate it at work tomorrow then put on magnetic strips to hold it to the door!

Fish Mail - No idea but I can't wait to find out! :confused3

Bethsg - There are several companies that run shuttle vans from DIA to Breckenridge. Colorado Mountain Express is the most well known but here is a link which will show other shuttle companies. http://www.flydenver.com/gt/search.asp.

The DW and I will be doing at least the wine tasting ( that is if DD7 is content in the OC).

I want to do the beer tasting too, and DW wants to do the martini tasting, but we'll see how that goes.

We do have a little one to look after! pirate:

Thanks for all your well wishers on my back.
DW ain't too happy w/ me. I'm being threatened that my back had darn well better be ok when we leave. :guilty:

Father Force: as a doc I have to ask if you are taking the correct measures to get back on your feet. Are you taking a good muscle relaxer as well as an antiinflammatory? If you take the meds for a good week, it should correct any pulled muscle you have. If it does not, then physical therapy would be a great option - able to fix things quick. Need to have you back on your feet before the wine tasting. :) (Yes I really am a doc and know what I am talking about - deal with this stuff everyday)

Can I get a head count of adults who are dressing up? I was shopping with my daughter at Ross' today, and found very interesting attire which would make great pirate costumes... gaudy black lace and velvet full skirt, blouce with small coins hanging off... all on the clearance rack (who would ever where clothes like this?) dare I dress up?

Dare! pirate:

My DD and DW will be in Pirate attire.
I'll be in a Pirtate t shirt and black jeans with head scarf.

Thanks for the advice Doc.
Relafen and low doseage of Valium plus stretching is my med regimen and I'm alternating cold and heat packs plus stretching.

How's that?

BTW, I had never been perscribed Valium before.

Now I know what all the fuss is bout :thumbsup2

Holy Cripes!
I'm in a REAL Disney mood now :cool1:

:woohoo: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :woohoo:

Good Morning!
Father Force - great combo - it should do the trick!! Hope it gets better soon!

As for us - we are not going to dress like pirates. We are going to dress-up for dinners. This is our "romantic get-away" so we are going to make dinners the dress-up time.
We will however stay in a pirate mood - ARRRR!!! pirate:

I just wanted to let everyone know our cruise docs came yesterday! :cool1:

I want mine! I want mine! Oh, and Doc's, too! I'm :coffee: while thinking about :beach:, :boat:, :drinking1, and :dogdance:.

Fish Mail:

There is a Fish outside your cabin door that is like a large clip so you can put mail underneath it and wedged above it.

Not so romantic, hunh? Should have made somethin' up for you all. But that's the skinny on fish mail.

Here's my fish mail:

Ok shipmates, here's is today's dilemma:

My back is feeling much better. Just a little "twingy".
I have another softball game scheduled for Sunday and if I can't make it, then my team has to forfeit. :scared1:
DW says that if I play softball on Sunday and make my back worse this close to the cruise she will take someone else. :confused3

First of all, I don't think she can do that since I am paying :cool1:

Doesn't she realize that even though I'm 42 and not what you would call an athlete or even remotely athletic that my team NEEDS me?

A MAN can't back let his team down can he? ( although it is a co-ed team so technically a MAN or WOMAN can't let his or her team down)

Waiting for my DIS-friends to support me in the important cause... :rolleyes1

In the many leagues in which I've played, you usually only have to START with a certain number, but can play with fewer. For example, in a b-ball league I played in for years, you needed five to start, but if one of your players got hurt, you could play with four. Same in softball leagues in which I played: had to start at least 9 (10-person teams), but could play with as few as 8. So, my question to you is, can you show up for the game, then after the first pitch, step off?

Being very much a jock at heart, but having grown wiser (and more affected by pains in my body) through the years, I would use that approach if you can. You fulfill your team duty by not allowing a forfeit, and you appease your DW. If that isn't an option, and it were me in your shoes, I'd show up and play. BUT, and this is very important, I would let my teammates know that I would not be hustling, nor trying to beat out a grounder, etc. Find the position least likely to cause strain and just be a stand-in player. Now, it pains me greatly to offer such advice 'cause I'm the kind of guy who finds it hard to slow down in any athletic endeavor (just ask Doc), but I have done so in the past. . .reluctantly.

The last thing I'd do is not show up unless it absolutely is in your best interests. . .if you know what I mean. Savvy? Now, I'm off to do a 10K run. . .

Cruise docs have arrived at my house..... now I am totally excited... even though I think I am going to look totally stupid in womans pirate costume which really looks like a gypsy?

As the wife of a DH who always seems to hurt himself at some athletic activity before a big trip (i.e. mountain bike crash the day before his brothers wedding!) I like the advice of sleepydog25. Also, could DW play for you since it is a coed team? Any friends that can step in and sub?

Bethsg - Where did you get your pirate/gypsy costume?

Although I am usually a bit leery about things in the mail that come in plain brown envelops, I was very excited to have our cruise documents show up today!!!!! :Pinkbounc The little red Mickey in the upper left corner kind-of gave it away ;)

By the way - has anyone started packing?

By the way - has anyone started packing?

I hate to pack and since we are going to Disney after the cruise need to pack for that as well. We are still wearing our shorts and the boys are wearing their nice polos to school so I won't pack until the day before! I have been slowly making a list of things we need though so I should be prepared.

"Has anyone been packing?"
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

DW has been sorting clothes for weeks.
Made lists of outfits plans for the whole family.
Made me get the Suitcases out tonight.
( I couldn't use my back as an excuse as I've been saying I felt good enough to play softball this weekend)

Momsully,
I didn't really buy a pirate costume, it's more of stuff I found on the clearance rack at Ross'. I found a tierd crushed velvet and lace black full skirt, and then this blouse that has coins hanging off it...
Now I am second guessing it, perhaps opting for just a tropical shirt that night with black pants. I am afraid the late seating will have less dressers than the early seating, and I will stick out like a sore thumb!
