Riunite Royal Rasberry was my "wine" drink of choice when I was in College. I was in a band and when we practiced, the guys would all have Jack Daniels or some other cheap hard liquor. I'd have beer or an ice cold bottle of RRR

I was a severe goober.

:sad2:

Oh man, Dude, if you hadn't used the term I surely would have!

Question for you recent cruisers: I'm taking the shuttle from the port back to Saratoga - any idea when I might get there? I have late lunch reservations (1:10) at Akershus in Norway....will she make it?

And btw - I've upgraded my wine tastes to Arbor Mist as a Bamaw (still can't use the "G" word!), but Royal Raspberry still sounds good to me!

"This is the Wine Police! Put the RRR and Arbor Mist down and step away! I repeat, put the sugar water down and step away!" ;) :teeth: :lmao: I can see at the meet we're going to need some serious discussion about what actually constitutes wine. . .over several glasses of the stuff, of course. :thumbsup2 :drinking1

Standing behind the Wine Policeman, my bottle of Annie Greensprings tucked inconspicuously behind my back. Tap, tap, tapping the big man on his shoulder.

Ummmmmmm Ossifer W.P. Will you be giving out samples?? ~wink~

Happy Friday everyone!

I actually have a very good friend who writes a wine column for the Dayton Daily News - and he endlessly berates me for my taste in wine! What can I say - I like what I like...Now, on the other hand, there's nothing like a good whiskey sour! And I drink my margaritas THROUGH the salt! Can you tell it's Friday!?! Less than 5 weeks away...

I must sound like a lush: I actually only partake a glass or two on average once or twice a month - except while on vacation! My definition of vacation is being allowed to do anything you want to do (within moral limits), anytime you want to do it, in whatever place you think of as paradise. Sounds like a Disney cruise to me!

I used to not be able to stand many wines except for Pinots, but something happens to your taste buds when you are familiarized with many different wines and you actually do come to love red wines. I never thought I would - but now I am a fan. It is the complexities. But it takes some time, and in that time a lot of spitting the swill out.

We do Friday night martinis at our house and I am SOOOOO looking forward to them tonight. It's been a long week.

I was actually only chastising FatherForce.......being in a band, drinking RR just demands some level of noodle whipping in my mind.

Yeah, you aren't the first to noodle whip me Gazer! :rotfl2:

In my defense, A hot summer day, a cramped, non-air conditioned practice space filled with 4 other sweaty 20-somethings demands a cool and refreshing beverage!

Since I was the least musically talented of the bunch, I needed a drink that has a bit less kick.

oh, ok.
I'm from Gooberville.

Now the DW works part time at a winery and could talk wine all day.
She just confuses me.

Give me a nice cold German beer and I'm fine.

Have you guys read the curent live cruise report that mentions that Slash from Guns and Roses is onboard right now?

I find that very funny. :rotfl: :rotfl:

:rockband: :music: :sail: :rockband:

Happy Friday all! I only drink Vodka so I can't join the wine conversation but DH likes any kind of red wine he can get his hands on.

Castlegazer - I would love a martini tonight but DH is headed to a mountain bike weekend with a few friends so it is me and the kids for the weekend! No martinis for me...

I am headed to Orlando on business Monday and am going to MK to check out POC and see if I can get DH a shirt for pirate night! I still need a costume for MNSSHP for me so maybe I can find myself something decent as well.

Have a great weekend everyone!

I'm sure you're friend would tell you the number one rule in wine appreciation is "drink what you like." I run a small wine shop and a couple of our best sellers are bottles I wouldn't necessarily drink, but they aren't buying for me. Now, that being said, I may endlessly tease said customers about their taste if I know them well, but. . .;)

Same here, cg. There was a time when Bartles and James were my idols. I gradually began to appreciate more complexity until a chance dinner where a topnotch Napa Valley cabernet was served. I was hooked. Now, I need that complexity, that depth, that seductiveness a quality wine possesses. But, to each his own, or to better fit into the cruise theme, whatever floats your boat.

There are moral limits on the cruise? Uh-oh. . .

Fallon - I got the wristbands today and they look great! DS4 is already wearing his around. I hope it makes it to the Wonder in a month! Thanks again for doing that.

We leave one month from today for Florida!

Bumping us back to page 1! :Pinkbounc

I am supposed to head to Orlando tomorrow on business. I am a little worried about the storm headed that way. It looks like it could hit the area Wednesday afternoon and I am supposed to fly home Thursday. It has been such a mild storm season that I am really hoping we don't have similar weather at the end of September for our cruise.

We have sooo got to do better about keeping this bumped to page 1. . .so I am doing just that. . .

Doc spent a few hours Saturday doing more pre-trip planning. She is the planner between the two of us (though some of her family's dominant trait is rubbing off on me). She has perused TRs and jotted down many useful notes and suggestions. She has printed out Navigators to get a feel for what is offered and when. She has a rough draft itinerary in her head which we'll flesh out as the days count down (this is where I come in handy since itineraries were a big part of my past life). We also made ressies for a hotel the night before the cruise (we're driving), chose a restaurant to hit that night, and are working on our carry-on item lists. Time is drawing nigh, I tell you! Pirates Unite! pirate:

It's 31 days (and a shameless bump) until the cruise. . .do you know where your luggage tags are? pirate:

Got our bracelets!

DD is wearing hers as I type.

I just did a complete day to day budget for the whole vacation and I need a raise!

Is anyone else going to the parks AFTER the cruise? I just discovered my friend will be unable to meet me there, so it may be a solo trip to the parks for me! Four weeks and 2 days....

I have been so busy and haven't really had a chance to read the boards... but I am counting days...
mickey... i am traveling with my friend on our girls only trip...you are welcome to join in with us at any time... we are mid 40's moms! I am DVC member and ex Cast Member....post cruise we are going to WDW for 2 nights, doing the Halloween party on Monday night, and hooking up with some other local disney friends at WDW...staying at OKW

Momsully,
I successfully completed my dvc points transaction, and we have taken your advice and booked Breckenridge for Jan straight from the Breck web site... I am excited.... but oh my gosh, I am shocked at the cost of SUV rentals at Denver airport....

Anyway, hoping my passport gets here in the next day or two, don't need it but just want it...
Has anyone gotten cruise docs?

We just got our updated passports on Monday. That's very cool, 'cept the pics look like we swallowed yellow dye before having them made. C'est la vie. And speaking of documents, just what sort of paperwork should we expect to receive? Does said paperwork include luggage tags? Doc read on here somewhere (she thinks) that you are given special luggage tags. I have no clue on this cruise except for having passports, knowing I'm going to drink wine, sleep late, get a massage, and eat at Palo. :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone! I am in Orlando on business but my meetings were cancelled yesterday due to Ernesto so I hit three parks in one day! I started at AK to ride Everest and did Tough to be a Bug and the Safari. I then went to MK for POC then on to Epcot for the evening. This is the first time I have been solo in WDW and I had a blast. (My kids were very jealous!)

I am waiting to find out about my meetings today. It is just raining so maybe they will happen. I don't fly home until tomorrow.

Bethsg - You don't really need an SUV in Denver to get to Breckenridge as the roads are well maintained. I drive a Honda minivan and have no problems driving to the mountains each week. Keep watching though as they do run specials on SUV rentals.

Almost cruise time!
