September 24th, 2016 Fantasy cruise

Welcome! Will send you the invitation for the FE group..I think this will be the first time for a lot of us too :)

Hey guys how are you guys we are going on our second cruise with my husband and my 3 year old! Can't wait! Can someone send me the fish extender link? Do they have a Facebook page? First time doing the fish extenders:o)
Hello again! I can't send you the invite until you have 10 posted messages. PrincessShmoo wrote what to do to get your 10 posts on page two of this thread..
I believe this is the link where you just post to get the number you need:

Hope I can send you the invite too :)

Has anyone explored Port Adventures yet? What looks good to you?
This is something that really caught our eye, and I'd love to see it, but I'm a little nervous about getting my heart set on a specific adventure and then having it sold out...because we haven't cruised with Disney before, I guess we can't make our selections until 75 days before?

If you grab a cab to go out to the beaches, how do you get back?
Welcome! Prepare to fall in love with Disney cruises! We are more just hang out at the beach people so we will probably just grab a cab and head out to beaches but everyone rants and raves about the Baths in Tortola?..Would love to hear any recommendations as well :)

Hi my name is Yesenia, I am traveling w/ a family of 7.. grandparents, parents, 3 & 18 yr old girls & 15 yr old boy. We plan on taking a taxi to Coral World in St. Thomas, a family of 6 is only $60 to get in - http://coralworldvi.com/ after that you can hang out at Coki Beach till it's time to head back. From what I heard Coral World will call a taxi for you and there are plenty hanging around the area as well.

For Tortola we are planning a 5 hr tour that can be customized.. We have room for 4 people if you are interested in joining us, it's $50/person and as of now the plan includes Road Town capital touring highlighting all historical sites. Ridge Road cruising featuring views of the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean Sea, surrounding outer islands, The Cultural Mural paintings on Fahie Hill and beautiful countryside scenery. Town of Cane Garden Bay's Callwood Cane Rum Distillery. Travel the North Shore to see the Towns of Carrot Bay, Capoons Bay's Bomba's Surf Side Shack and Sugar Mill Hotel, Apple Bay, Long Bay Beach & Hotel as we head to our beach stop for lunch (not included in price) along w/ swimming & snorkeling at Smugger's Cove Beach. After the beach break we return to cruise pier via the Southern Coastal road.

Welcome! So glad you are joining us :)

The wife and I just booked this cruise to celebrate our 40th anniversary, (is there an echo in here?). This will be our second Disney cruise. The first was great! We've been to St Thomas once before and thoroughly enjoyed our day at Magens's Bay. It's waters are very calm and clear, a great beach for small kids or us old guys. This is our first time on the Fantasy.

For those interested... we are the only ship in Tortola while we're there but the next day at St. Thomas we will be joined by a larger ship, (5400 passengers), so some excursions may fill up sooner than usual. Make your plans and book as soon as you're able.

Looking forward to a great week.

Welcome!! Thanks so much for the info! Funny I was just looking at the schedules too and noticed this month had the Disney Fantasy, the one you mentioned and 3 other ships docked in St. Thomas on the same day! Yikes! I can't imagine so many people...
Congrats on your anniversary...how wonderful!

Hello everyone! FINALLY paid off our cruise today. My name is Brandy and I'll be sailing with my DD 9 (Lily) and my DM. We will be celebrating the end of DD's chemotherapy treatments!! :figment:Her last treatment will be Aug 28th and this will be a muuuuuch needed vacation/celebration. She's sailed once before while she was still cooking in my belly (haha) and once when she was 1. So this will be the first one she remembers and she's super excited for the AquaDuck. (We all are) I have some questions. How do y'all know what excursions are available? Is there somewhere to look? Also, can you invite me to the FE thingie? And mcurrence, shortyc28 and sherryCLahr I noticed y'all have daughters around Lily's age. I'd love to have her make some friends before the cruise since she's the only child traveling in our party and I KNOW she's wanting to hit up the kids club while onboard. It'd be nice for her to know someone before hand.

Also, does anyone know when Birnabaum's 2016 DCL guide will come out? All I can find are for previous years or WDW for 2016.
Hi! I haven't seen once printed since 2014 :confused3

Also, I can't book any activities until 6/26 (and cruise is paid for) I'm a Silver member..I think it's different for everyone depending on what member status they have. But if you look on the website, I think you can search excursions by ports? We're probably going to Cane Garden and Magen's Bay on our own so I haven't really looked into it:)
:welcome:

I finally figured out where everyone was seeing stuff. Haha. TY Yeah the Birnbaum thing is weird. I wanted to get one for DD so she could read up and get excited before the cruise.

Hello. My name is Maki Rheaume and I will be sailing with my husband, Mark, Amy (11) and Jake (8).
This will be our first platinum member cruise!! Yes, our eleventh time!
However, I have done FE only a few times in the past,, so no so expert on FE!!

Is there a FE group that we can still join?

We are so excited!

Thanks!

Maki

Is it too late to join a FE group? This will be our first Disney Cruise on the Fantasy Sept 24th and I think our girls (6 and 10) would love to participate.

Just want to make sure that my understanding is that in order to be an organizer of FE and start a private conversation with someone else, you need to post 10 posts. Correct? I got confused reading older post about this.

Usually the organizer for each FE group sends out the updated info about each stateroom and their guests names and age and usually the group is only 10-20 staterooms depending on FE group.

I do not know how many FE groups have already created in this 9/24/16 Cruise but would like to join one. If all are full and can not accept any more new guests, I will start a new one. So please let me know.

Thanks!

Maki

No, to be an organizer, you just have to say "I'll organize the FE group". Don't have to have any specific number of posts. However, to participate in conversations, each participant must have at least 10 posts.

A note here - there is no requirement that there is only one FE group. And no requirement that all FE groups are organized by the same person. And no requirement as to FE group size. Or how the lists are managed. Some FE groups allow however many people sign up by XX date to be included in one big list. Other group organizers will take that big list and break it out into smaller lists (10-15 rooms), but you can be included in more than one list, if you wish. Other groups only sign up the first XX number of rooms and then the list is closed. Subsequent lists may be set up by others, each with their own parameters of organization.

Welcome Maki! How exciting to be a Platinum member! Congrats on this special sailing for you :)
Welcome jschompert! There's nothing more exciting than your first Disney Cruise! Your girls are going to have so much fun.

I've started the first FE group but like PrincessSchmoo mentioned (thank you!) there's a lot of flexibility in the planning. Our cut off was 10 participants and we've closed it-that being said, I've just PM'd some to confirm whether they are still interested...

I was thinking of waiting a week to see if they respond. I'm not sure if you want to wait and see if you can be added to our group (if I don't hear from them) or if you want to go ahead and organize the next group?

Glad to see our 9/24 group is growing! 156 days to go!!!
