Hi, usually a lurker, but wanted to say we received our room assignments today as well. So if you booked a GTY, you may want to look.

We are traveling with others - a total of 6 rooms- all booked and received 11C's :sad2: Was hoping for an upgrade, but didn't happen this time.

I can say... I never received my upgrade until just before cruising. It never appeared on my documents before. :thumbsup2

FE! - if you were on a GTY and got your room assignment please let me know so I can add it! Thanks!

We are decorating our door as well. I have a ton of degins for magnets for ours, I can't wait to start doing that part.

So, thought I would start a new thing on our thread. How many of you are doing excursions? What ones? What are your plans for St. Maartan, St. Thomas/St. John, Castaway Cay?

St. Maartan we are just doing Great Bay Beach and shopping
St. Thomas/St. John- still up in the air, no excursion booked but we def want to go to a beach- probably just take a taxi. And def shopping
Castaway Cay- Parasailing in the morning, Water trike, Family beach.

Any others?
6 weeks and counting.......

Yes, it will be fun and glad to meet all of you :goodvibes

We definitely want to see the French side but we really want to hang out on the Dutch side. My daughter has spent time in both and she suggested this to us. So we intend to hang out on the Dutch side and grab something to eat there. It appears eating on the French side is very expensive.

Hummm! I had no idea about the food on the French side. I will add that to my list of tips.

Yes and pleased to meet you too. Do you both post here? It's kind of nice to know who we're talking to.
My name is Kim and my DH is Brian. And congrats on 45 yrs. That's awesome. We are celebrating our 30th.

For Magens Bay, did you book the excursion or are you doing it on your own? If on your own, how are you getting there. We talked about doing that one and it looks beautiful, but I don't really wanna book the excursion.

I have done Magens Bay before. It is beautiful! The water was a bit cooler because it is in a "cove" but still gorgeous! However, be prepared for crowds, this is one of the most popular beaches!

To get their own your own you can take on of the open air buses (or trucks). I can't remember how much it was but they are all along the port area.

Unbelievable about Magens Bay "...be prepared for crowds":confused3

When we spent our Honeymoon at Bluebeard's Castle 45 years ago in mid-October, we went to Magens Bay. We were the ONLY 2 people on the beach. It was like being on a deserted island. There were no beach chairs, no snack bars, nothing. Just the two of us, lying on the bare beach, and we have a picture of my DH climbing a tree for a coconut. That was our snack. We are going back for the first time, but we will view Magens Bay from atop Mountaintop (which has also changed) but wonderful view of Magens Bay from afar. We don't want to ruin the view in our minds of Magens Bay as we knew it.

Yea... ever since Magens Bay showed up on the travel channels top 10 beaches in the world it has exploded with crowds. When we first got there around 9am it was kind of dead but then it got crazy as the day went on. There is even a tour that goes there so you can imagine how busy it gets.

Right now we have an excursion booked, but we are debating keeping it or trying to do it on our own. I know we can do it way cheaper on our own, but I can be kinda paranoid about transportation type of things and I am afraid that if we do it on our own I'm going to spend the whole time on the beach worrying about getting back. We will see though, might take the plunge and do it on our own anyways!
