September 22, 2012 Fantasy Eastern "From Fantasyland to the Fantasy"

Is anyone else considering doing the Lord Sheffield pirate day cruise on St Maarten? It's really the only thing I've come across so far that interested us, other than just going to a beach. We haven't decided to do it for sure, but we're thinking about it. pirate:

I haven't looked in to ANY excursions yet....I loaned out my DCL Passporter to a friend that is cruising in April and haven't had the time to find that section on DCLs website.

Howdy folks, Well I have done it now! I called WDW and booked Janet and I at Port Orleans French Quarter from 9-15 to 9-22. OMG what was I thinking.

You were thinking that you wanted an EXTRA special vacation, and what better way than to add some days at WDW before the cruise! You will have a great time! Did you get the free dining that is out there now?

Of course! It is also our 25th anniversary celebration which is why I am willing to go into debt for this trip. I also love POFQ because it has a small resort feel. I am so very excited. Now to decide which parks on which days so I can make my dinning ressie on the 19th!!!!

So my husband has been told that he probably won't get a job as quickly as we wanted. Between that and being told we are moving somewhere north of Gettysburg, PA and not south like we wanted...... We unfortunately have to cancel our cruise. So sorry to have to leave this group. Hopefully we can catch you in later years and our face to face meeting is just delayed for now! Hope you all have a fantastic trip!!

Sorry to hear it. Having gone through a job crisis recently, I'm sending extra good thoughts your way.

Probably something crazy like I was when I booked all six of us on the Dec PC cruise.

We'll be down on the 19th, staying at Animal Kingdom Villas.

Welcome! This is our first Disney Cruise, we are surprising our daughter for her birthday, she will turn 11 on the ship. So far I have been able to keep the surprise, but the closer it gets, the more excited I get, the harder it is getting!!

WELCOME!!!:dance3: Sounds like more and more kids are joining which is nice. My DD and DS will be almost 11 when we sail. Glad to see kids in that age range here!

NOT CRAZY!!! :yay: I have the ShipMates app on my phone and also saw it was 200 days yesterday. WOO HOO! That means to day is 199! Getting closer!!!!

We haven't told our kids yet either. This will be our 3rd cruise and I'm trying to keep it secret. I suceeded with a secret WDW trip last year, didn't tell them until TWO WEEKS before we sailed! I will tell them sooner than that for this one, we won't be going anywhere over the summer and that is because of this cruise. So, the cat will be out of the bag sometime before summer. I posted previously that I may do a Superbowl type video of them once we finish all our renovations.

BUT...since that is taking so much longer than expected, it could be close to summer! :scared1: Bedroom and bathroom are entirely done :cheer2: DH is supposed to be putting a coat of primer on the living room/hallway this week (I am leaving today for NYC for work). The spackling is finally done in those rooms, and if it is primed, I can PAINT this weekend! We still need to order and get in a new mantel, and lots of work on the stairway as we pulled off paneling and there is lots of spackling/sanding/fixing to do. If I can just paint the living room and get all the furnture back where it belongs, I will be HAPPY! :yay:

And then of course, I can also go furniture shopping!!!

Must get back to the real world though and get ready for work and the kids ready for school, and of course, finish packing as I leave this morning for New York. Never a dull moment!

Last year we took the kids on a trip to DisneyWorld the week before school started. It was a surprise for them. We were camping around home from Sunday to Thursday. We came home on a Thursday afternoon and then left Thursday evening for the drive to Florida. We all had a great time.

:welcome:

to the new shipmates!

Nice to see more people coming aboard.

Welcome!! OMG, your kids are going to LOVE it!

Last year we took the kids on a trip to DisneyWorld the week before school started. It was a surprise for them. We were camping around home from Sunday to Thursday. We came home on a Thursday afternoon and then left Thursday evening for the drive to Florida. We all had a great time.

That's great! I remember we drove to Disney when my oldest DD turned 5. We go frequently since we only live 2 hours away, but this was the only time we did a surprise trip. We packed all of our stuff, loaded it in the van, and threw a blanket over it all. The morning we left, we pretended we were taking her to school. After awhile, she kept asking us why it was taking so long to get to school. We kept making up excuses...we made the wrong turn, had to get gas, had to get breakfast, etc. It wasn't until she saw the Mickey ears on I-4 just outside Disney that she realized what we were doing...it was hilarious!

Whew, what a week! Been a busy one, I tell you...We are in the middle of redoing are bedroom. Half of our room has been painted, but we are waiting until our last piece of furniture sells to paint the rest. Have to buy our new dresser and our new chest (I love IKEA!). We got our new bed on Wednesday. It's a Serta iComfort Genius...and it's a king :) We have always had a queen, so we are loving all the space. I'm doing a DIY headboard, but that won't be done until the rest of the bedroom is put together. Just taking this bedroom makeover one step at a time...it's a SLOW process.

We are going to St. Augustine (FL) for a few days during Spring Break this next week. I haven't been in probably 20 years and my DH or my girls have never been. Going to take a few days to relax, shop, hit the beach. My DH is psyched to see some the golf courses there - he's an avid golfer :) Should be great weather. I haven't even started packing though and we leave Saturday, after we man a Girl Scout cookie booth in the morning. Hmmmm may need to stock up on a couple of boxes for our trip!

Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

First of all welcome to the new members of our cruise:thumbsup2 secound i have question for any one. I was online yesterday and came across an american airlines around trip from seattle to orlando for $485.20. the question is should i cancell my DCL and book my own air:idea: I would still book the trasfers through DCL. I know i wouldn't be staying at the hyatt,i would stay at a wdw hotel i was thinking all star music or riverside. I would get a one day pass for magic kingdom and of course mickey's halloween party. I understand there may be free dinning if so what are the dinning packages beeing offtered. Because if i can get free dinning then i could stay at riverside. thanks

The free dining offer has a three night minimum stay, along with at least a two day base ticket purchase. Those staying at a value resort get the quick service dining plan for free, and those staying at a moderate or deluxe resort get the regular dining plan.

So, if you were going to stay at Riverside, you'd get the regular dining plan for free, but you'd need to stay for at least three nights, and purchase at least a two day base ticket. :thumbsup2
