That's so lovely, Penny! Maybe I should change my user name to Lucky Karen - it seems we are both so fortunate with our menfolk...

Last week DH arrived home late and, as we were sipping our late night hot drink, he suddenly got down on one knee and asked me to marry him all over again! I, of course, said "Don't be so silly - we've got the vow renewal in September, remember?!" At which point he fished in his pocket and brought out a ring box - he'd only had a beautiful new engagement ring made for me!!!!

It's absolutely gorgeous and sparkly but the fact that he'd chosen the stone and designed the setting and everything just means so much!!! To say I was overwhelmed is an understatement - actually, I still am... :cloud9:

Karen, what a wonderful, thoughtful, romantic thing to do!!! The time and thought involved speak volumes about how much he thinks of you! I agree, we are both "Lucky" ladies!

wow i have missed a lot around. happy belated birthday eva.

spandex? virgins? ummm i think I will stay clear of those topics <G>

If anyone is interested in linking dinner ressies with us (me and friend well sorta like sister in law) let me know. We linked with another dis'er and her daugther for the June cruise. It was great. they assigned us to a table for 4 so it was just us. had a great time chatting, laughing, etc....

I will be celebrating my birthday at the Monday night dinner, and luvalldisney (Ellouise) will be celebrating her at the Thursday night dinner. would love to have other diser's linked with us at the table if anyone is interested (or brave enough to link with two middle aged woman that dress up a Pal Mickey and plush Minnie LOL).

i got sad today as three months from today we will have returned already from the cruise ...... on the good side less than three months from today we leave for the cruise HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok everyone, have i missed anyone adding to website?

have i missed putting any DIS meets? information? etc.... on website?????

I just received a GORGEOUS bouquet with a card reading "You said yes!" ... tomorrow is the anniversary of the day he proposed ... and he remembered!!!

I'm glad every day that I said yes ... here's to you, Protector of Virgins, putty in the small hands of granddaughters, and my best friend and true love!! :cheer2: :groom: :bride: ::yes:: :lovestruc :love2:

Wow! I had to think back about this for a minute myself and then Steve reminded me that we started dating on November 14th, I said yes the following November 14th, and we got married on August 14th the following year. Of course, 14 has always been our favorite number.

Penny, this was a very romantic story. While Steve remembers all those dates, I haven't received any flowers to celebrate them. But he is an awesome husband! He knows what matters to me. Like on my 40th birthday he surprised me with a trip to Chicago and a shopping spree. During shopping he told me that he had a special night planned and I should buy something nice to wear. Then he surprised me with a fabulous dinner, drinks at the Allegro, and 8th row seats to Broadway's Lion King. I cried nearly all night.

OK, we all have fabulous husbands. We better be careful or they will get big heads with all this fauning we are doing.

Can't wait to see the new ring, Karen. What a great story! Aren't we all lucky? But I'm not sure if we should let the DH's find out how adorable and charming we think they are.

if anyone knows an available (single) charming and adorable middle aged man let me know <G> esp if he has money LOL

I met my lovely wife on the 8th of July, 1972, and we were married on the 1st September 1972. She has tolerated me for almost 35 years. Mike

OMG!!! How Sweet

Just got the great news that my wife was able to get all of her shifts covered and we are going to Orlando July 14th-21st to do the Universal studios.

Congratulations on the ring Karen. The rest of the cruise husbands are going to have to talk to Richard about being so loving and generous.:rolleyes1 Makes us look bad:rotfl: He sounds like a wonderful guy, and I am glad that you both are very happy together. Mike

Universal has some good ticket pricing going on.

$85.99 for 7 consecutive days or something.

A boarding question.

As I understand it, you are permitted to board the ship with one carry on. I have this image of 2000 people roaming the ship with luggage everywhere until the staterooms are available. Is that pretty accurate? What do you all generally carry on board? We will have our laptop, cameras, and I do not know what else that we do not want to trust to our luggage.

Well, I think that we will be using a rolling laptop bag that I use for work. It will hold Steve's laptop and our swimsuits and such for the afternoon. That's about all it holds. It is not huge. Then I will have my purse. Last time Steve just brought his laptop bag, that is more like a briefcase, and I brought a DVC backpack for our swimsuits and such. We've never brought any of our suitcases as a carry on. We don't need much before dinner time. Oh, I should mention that we put our camera and a Ziploc bag of toiletries in our carry on too. I wish that we could avoid taking the laptop. It would make things so much simpler.

Looks like it's too late for some, Eva...

Wow! You must've been a very good husband to get a head that big, Bob!!! Just hope you never sit in front of me in the Walt Disney Theatre...
