September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Feeling much better now, thanks Eva! :thumbsup2 But OMG did I feel awful over the last few days!?! T'was my own fault TBH - I had a go at doing the SlimFast diet in an attempt to get past my current weight plateau and I had headaches (from the sweeteners) like you wouldn't believe! :headache: Sooo after 3 days (and a weight gain of 3lbs!!!) I ditched the shakes and returned to my normal low-carb intake. After 24 hours the headaches were gone, the excess 3lbs were gone, cost of SlimFast shakes was gone out of my purse and nothing had changed. Oh well - just going to chalk that one up to experience... :rolleyes1

Hope you feel better soon - this sinus thing is awful, it really makes me feel down at times. My poor Mum used to suffer very badly and I was so negative about her feelings at the time (I was an obnoxious 13/14 year old) I guess this is retribution... :sad2:

Can't believe we're so close to the 4 month mark! It's very exciting!!! :woohoo: :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: :woohoo:

Karen, Glad that you are feeling better. Be careful of that SlimFast after a low carb diet. The sugars in the SlimFast are a killer. We have been on a modified South Beach diet and I have problems anytime I eat sugar or white flour. I guess I better be sure to get off it a couple weeks before the cruise. I don’t' want to feel bad just eating a dessert on the cruise. Although, this diet has really become a life style change for us.

Ann you have to wait until the 90 day mark. June 24th I think. Mike

WOW June is not that far away. Payoff day is beginning of July. I better get busy with those last few payments LOL.

Anyone have any idea how full this cruise is so far?

I am wondering since the Magic is gone all summer, if this cruise will fill up to capacity as people needing their 7 night cruise fix as I do LOL.

I imagine the Wonder will book full all summer with no 7 nights/Magic gone all summer.

Ok so i need to make a couple more payments, so can do online check-in June 24th <G>

Hi Marsha... I just checked DCL wesite.
There are rooms still for this date, but on the 15th... it's sold out.

Ann

Thanks Ann. I checked all the Sept cruises but for one person (no kids) and shows rooms in every catergory from 5-12 available. Then checked with kids and shows availability. How did you find out the 15th is sold out?

Of course I am assuming that if it allows you to choose a specific room it means available.

I know they allow only a certain number of kids per age group. Do they allow so many adults too even if there is a room available? Or let's say one person in a room and you want to add another adult, do they allow that since its one person in room, or would they say no due to they limited number of adults as well (meaning other rooms have more adults that would match out how many adults permitted)

I hope all those cruising this summer on the Magic have a great time. Would have loved to be on one of those. But hey at least I have 3 nights soon, and even better the 7 night in Sept.

Hope you are doing well.

Marsha,
I just went on DCL and checked on all the cruises we have. And the one we had to cancell.
The May 26th (Med. cruise) is sold out except for cat4.
Every once in a while I'll check out dates and prices... for fun.

Looks like we might be racing next year(08) and doing a few days of extra fun at DL. Do the Santa Barbara Rig Run and Ventura Pier race and drive 50 miles or so to Disneyland. So we might not be cruising next year.:rolleyes1

Good morning all. Rainy day here today, and I am trying to finish up 15 nurses jackets with an embroidered logo. Didn't get the jackets until yesterday, and they want them tomorrow. It is for a non profit organization and I am only charging them $5 per jacket. This is the last time I do this. Just too much hassle trying to do jackets and watch grand kids. Mike

Sounds stressful, Mike! :headache: Especially with the little 'uns to take care of! I'm definitely not a fan of deadline sewing - I always leave putting the nametapes into DS's school uniform until the last minute which is not a good idea! Needles and a bad temper do not mix! :sad2: I particularly detest naming socks as the flippin' things get lost anyway...

I'm hoping to have a relaxing evening (it's 7pm here in the UK) as my DH's away in Athens on business. I've had a long bubble bath and now I'm in my PJ's ready to give myself a manicure. I shall watch a little TV before having an early night - how very grown-up!? ;)

Do you know, that didn't occur to me, Eva! My personal trainer just stared at me dumb-struck when I told her today what had been happening - what an idiot I am... :rotfl:

What's the South Beach diet? DH and I have been low-carbing for quite a while and I really suffer with bloating if I have any flour-based products - pizza, pasta, bread etc etc. We eat a lot of grilled meat, fish and salads and feel so much better for it. :thumbsup2

Karen, You are pretty close to the South Beach Diet. The diet was devised by a cardiologist in Miami, FL. It is a very popular diet here in the US. DH and I are using the guidelines, but are not following it religiously. We avoid process foods, sugar, white flour, fruit juice, etc. We mainly eat lean meat, fish, veggies, fruit (limited), two low fat milk products, nuts, 1 or 2 whole grain breads of some type, and good for you oils. Now, if I could avoid the alcohol totally, I would be sitting pretty. That is normally my downfall. I like to have a beer or two on the weekend. Of course exercise is another problem I have. :guilty:

I am currently on the Tennessee See Food Diet. I see food and then I eat it:lmao: :rotfl2: Mike

Mike, I am on that same Diet but I guess its the Florida one. Yet since I am originally from Tenn guess could be the Tenn one too. <G>

can you believe how fast time is going? I mean really just a couple months ago it seemed like the cruise was so far away, yet now its just around the corner.

HOORAY

127 days to go! :woohoo: Only four weeks until we drop into double figures... :cloud9:

127 how great is that? Every day is a day closer.:woohoo: Mike

And I thought I has trouble holding in my excitment!:rotfl2:

Was on the lake paddling yesterday.. great day for a paddle half way around the island, and back

Let's see...46 more days of club paddling and 10 more days of our own paddling. And 95 days of swimming.:rolleyes1
If I dont keep active... I'll go ship crazy!:rotfl2:

Close your eyes and listen to the sound of the waves lapping against the hull.:lmao: Mike

Shelly we live close to the Opry Mills area.

A little rhyme: I was feeling oh so blue,:sad1: because I found us on page 2. Mike

Hi guys! Another day closer... :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

And it can't come a moment too soon for me as I'm having a day of techno-trials that are sending me !!!!

I ordered a new Macbook earlier in the week and it arrived today - so far so good. HOWEVER the internet connection doesn't want to work with the wireless router and/or the conventional cable! :headache: I think that its something to do with my old set-top broadband modem - it's ancient, so I've called the engineers and they'll install a new one on tuesday for me! FINGERS CROSSED!!!!

So I'm still on my old eMac. :surfweb: I haven't been able to upgrade the operating system for ages as the CDRom drive is very temperamental and won't always recognise what's in it...

On top of that, my beloved pink mini iPod suddenly froze in the Sound Dock and now won't work! DS says to let the battery die and then try restoring factory settings. All of that makes me feel :scared: but hopefully it'll work out...

Weather's gorgeous today - hope it stays like this over the weekend. Have a good one! :flower3:
