September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

good morning all. Hope that everyone is having a great day. Been busy babysitting the grand daughters while Kathy is at work. A 4 year old and a 5 month old keeps you busy. I don't know who had more baby food carrots on them, the baby or me:scared1: Mike

Go for it, Eva! :thumbsup2 Most energetic thing I have done the last couple of days is turn QVC on and off on the TV! I feel awful - like I'm going to get the flu or something with aching limbs, swollen glands and sore eyes. Very dull...

Kim, I love the photos in your sig! Very cool! :cool1:

Thank you! Those were from our first DCL trip, they are our favorite family portraits. We plan on updating those this year on the cruise though! Can't wait!

I am paying off our cruise today which makes me even more giddy!!!:cheer2:

Wow! You got them done on the cruise?! The quality's so good and I like the way they look so natural and contemporary. The one of the two of you is very special - I would love something like that. We're having a vow renewal onboard and have opted to add-on the photo package - looks like it'll be worth it as, if your photos are anything to go by, these guys definitely know their stuff. :thumbsup2 Only worry is I bring unphotogenic to a whole new level - even my DH says he doesn't recognise me in photos!!! :scared1:

Well done in paying off the cruise - it's a very liberating feeling... :woohoo:

T&KHayes, Those pictures are great! We bought one on our last cruise of DH and me that has a sunset in the background and appears we are on deck. I just love that picture. I plan on getting a few this next cruise.

Mike, I sure understand about the babysitting. I had quite a bit of that last week. It's been over a year since I've sat with a 5 month old though. That can be a tough age to watch. Once they start walking and talking a bit it is much easier.

Karen, I am having a tough time with the exercise part of losing weight. After giving up smoking and going on a diet I have about hit my limit when it comes to lifestyle changes. It sounds like you are under the weather. I hope that you start feeling better soon.

Hi Kim!!! Your photos are so great...I remember them taking the "pyramid" one and thinking it was going to look awesome...and it does!

We had a family photo taken on the white background too, and I LOVE it! I believe myself to be very unphotogenic, but I get compliments on those photos all the time! We're going to do it again this year, and I hope they turn out as well.

Sandi & Kathy, we are on deck 7 this year. I didn't like any of the available options on deck 6 (not much left since we just booked) so we opted for deck 7 instead. I think you are both on 6. I'm going to be so lost!!! Well, there's always a lounge chair on deck 9.....it shouldn't be hard to find one at night ;)

Eva, don't worry about the exercise aspect too much - giving up smoking is the most positive step and is doing you the world of good. Add in the dieting and you're in a really good place. Exercise is something you can throw into the mix in the future, should you wish. The easiest way I know to include exercise in your life, is to get a pedometer and try and do 10000 steps per day.

Today I feel "alright not brilliant" which is a small improvement... :goodvibes

Sounds lovely! :thumbsup2 I'm amazed that they offer such a diverse photographic service - just glad I found out well in advance...

That's encouraging! :thumbsup2 We had a family photo taken on the way into Chef Mickey's last summer and OMG  I looked totally bizarre! My skin tone looked strange compared to the others and I had the most weird expression on my face!

We were about on page 2. So I thought I better give us a quick bump.

Karen, I'm glad you are a bit better today. Hope you are back to 100% by tomorrow. I'm trying not to let the exercise part get me down too much. Thank goodness it is starting to clear off a bit outside. This weekend is suppose to be beautiful. So maybe I will get out and do some walking. The only thing that I will force myself to do is my Total Gym at least 2 or 3 times a week. I've got to turn some of this flab back into muscle before bathing suit weather. Oh I completely forgot till now, but DBIL put in a new pool last year. So I will probably get to swim once or twice a week this summer. I love that! :thumbsup2

Going to have to cut the grass again as soon as it dries out from the rain last night.

Starting to look at places to stay before the cruise and after. Probably in cocoa beach and on property. Mike

Good luck with the Total Gym, Eva, I'm sure you'll see results! :thumbsup2 I used to be addicted to buying home exercise equipment - and then not using it! I'm pretty sure we had a Total Gym at one point (curse QVC and their easy pay options!) not to mention a strider, an abswing and a stepper! We've got rid of most of the items now except for the Pilates machine. My DH loves that so it lives in absent DS's bedroom... :yay:

That's funny, Karen! Our Total Gym, free weights, and all my step aerobics equipment are in our guest bedroom that used to be DD's room. The Total Gym really does work, if you use it! :lmao:

Like the Magic sailing through the deep blue sea, I had to get us back to page one for all to see. Mike

hi guys
I feel like I have not been active here enough lately. sorry really to you all.

I have been working and traveling which is exhausting. Coordinating, preparing, planning on selling my SUV, buying conversion van, and getting the new power chair.

Preparing for friends coming to WDW in May which I am spending Fri - Sun with at POP.

Planning and preparing for 3 night cruise in June.

Finalizing arrangements to fly out of town to visit family and celebrate my mothers' 77th birthday in July.

Tracking progress of receiving renewed Passport----- Finally tonight new message that it has been mailed and should receive it on or about 4/30.

Rec'd new power chair today !!!!! Bad news the portable ramp we thought would be manageable until contractors make sidewalk, new ramp, extend door landing..... well with rep today practicing going up/down ramp..... Going up went well, going down ramp, well let's just say I almost ended up with my face on the ground. The chair almost flipped forward. So this ramp isn't safe to use. Put in urgent request to VR to speed up getting me at least a ramp, the sidewalk can come later but without ramp I can't get chair out of apartment. Which means can't use it for work, shopping, etc.... Rec'd email that VR is attempting to get contractor to quickly order and get ramp ASAP. Of course how long that means who knows.

Selling SUV to CarMax this Saturday.

Getting conversion van May 4th.

Pal and Minn are packed for our May visit at POP and WDW with friends. Of course I'm not packed <G>

Have beach bag that I am throwing things in for the June cruise.

Arrangements for July trip to family is booked (air and car rental).

Next week I work from home so no work travel. Will travel to Tampa to van company for correct positioning of the lock down system in van.

Ok thats my update.

So what is new, old, exciting, celebrating etc.... with everyone here?

Hello All,

Its been a good week and a half since I posted last. I have been busy with life but I have been trying to keep up with the thread since then. Looks like you are all working on plans for the cruise and weight loss. ;) Less than 5 months now and time will fly. Since this is our first Disney cruise we are hoping that we have a smooth sailing without being diverted because of weather? :scared1: I am looking forward to Margarita Monday on the Magic and the Wine and Food Festival at Epcot. Going home to the Wilderness Lodge will be the tops for me. :woohoo:

Just Remembering A Fun Thing:
It's funny how when you are not looking while you are at WDW you stumble on to something you haven't seen before! We were tired and it was about 7p.m. We had just finished a wonderful dinner at Alfredo Roma, we sent the kids off and started..wandering....we end up in the pre-presentation of Ellen's Energy Adventure! My parents were with us and we were looking for an attraction to sit down and relax in. If you haven't gone to this attraction at Future World/Epcot I highly recommend it. Fun, suprising, relaxing. It lasts about 30-45 minutes. It is an opportunity to sit/relax and be entertained. FYI: Don't be suprised when the huge seating area breaks apart and starts moving.
I love how you can find all sorts of hidden pleasures and funky fun at WDW.

I have been looking at the tours available at WDW. Has anyone taken any of these tours, i.e. Backstage Magic, Hidden Treasures of World Showcase? How about Epcot DiveQuest? Just wondered if anyone had experience any of these tours? Thanks all....

Wendy

Ok... so I really didnt get lost.:rotfl2:

Our ADD was here for a few days before she reports back to the Magic on Saturday! We had a blast! Fed donkies in a small gold town in the desert and took her OC paddling. Poor Erika! She got sun burned even using SPF 50! and now her arms and back hurt from paddling abour 2 1/2 miles!:thumbsup2 What can I say... She LOVED it!

My addiction to exercise equipment is a 25' outrigger boat, and the park to walk. I got tired of fighting the weight thing so far this winter/spring... I did something I thought I would never do... join Weight Watchers!:scared1: I cant complain... Ive lost just under 5lbs in 2 weeks.I dont have alot to lose... just a few that wont let go of me!

Sandi... I have a couple more to send off for Sydney. Im so excited that she's got a great response!

I better stop here before I write a "dis"ertation:lmao:
Hope everyone a great week or at least end of the week!

Ann

That's going to be my thought for the day! It's dull here - grey skies and the threat of rain so any thoughts of the Caribbean are uplifting... :beach:

Hi Marsha! That sounds like a crazy week for you - I hope it's less tiring working from home next week. Sending you some pixiedust: - hope the contractors can sort your access issues sooner rather than later...

Wendy, nice to hear from you! I'm looking forward to those things too - and introducing my DH to Palo's. Is Ellen's Energy Adventure the one with Bill Nye, the Science Guy? We loved that when we first saw it - haven't done it for a while so maybe DD and I will pop in during October... Only tour we have done was at Seaworld and it was absolutely fantastic - would do it again for sure. It made me realise I'd like to do some of the WDW tours. DD and I are doing the Segway Around The World one in October... :thumbsup2

I must say I'm getting a little bored of it myself - I don't have much to lose but, as you say, that last few that won't let go really cling on for dear life! Well done with your WW success - I'm rubbish at keeping track of points etc but maybe I should give it a try...

I'm off to Paris later on today - meeting DH at the station after work. Sandi, I'll send Sydney another postcard from Moosley while I'm away!

Have a great weekend, guys... :wave2:

Wendy that used to be the world of energy sponsored by EXXON. It is a nice cool ride and yes Bill Nye is in it.

Hi Marsha, hope everything works out for you. Mike

Karen... Have a great time in Paris..... Awww to be in Paris! Well... some day.

Everyone have a great day and keep us up on page 1 !!!
