September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Welcome new cruisers! :wizard:
Hello everyone else. I've been kind of quiet lately, but been catching up every few days with all the posts. DH and I are looking for a new home and that's been taking up a lot of my time, besides I've had a lot of cake orders lately. Will September EVER get here???

sorry it took me so long to get back to you all. I've been really busy outside the house (work, yuk!)

I want to thank you all for making us feel welcome. We have some time left yet for me to learn how to use this board.

brady961, here's some information about us to add to the passenger list.
DH - Rick and I'm Wendy
early seating and we'll be on deck 7.

I've taken a little time to look at some of the pictures and trip reports. Can't hardly wait for this...I need a vaction NOW...a Disney vacation! :yay:

Cool, I updated the list with DH, seating and deck

Welcome !!!!! this is going to be a great cruise and so many Disser's to find and meet.

Marsha, I've been secretly coveting Pal Mickey since I first saw him in the parks! :rotfl: ... telling myself that I will "save" him for my DGD when she's old enough :rolleyes1

Ann, that's a good quote -- and in most families the "eccentric" one is the one who generates the best stories for all the rest, true?

I figured out how to put one of the photos from the wedding into my signature - DS and DDIL walking through a shower of bubbles after the ceremony yesterday!

Great of pic of wedding.

Oh go ahead get Pal Mickey. Disney sells a few outfits for him. Or just leave him in his sorcerrer one.

He is great fun so go for it.

Great wedding Photo.

Kathy starts at her new hospital tomorrow. The hospitals are owned by the same company, but this is in the field that she did for 20 years. She will be in the NeoNatal Intensive Care Unit.(NICU) She loves taking care of the premies and the little 1 and 2 pounders. Mike

tell Kathy good luck. taking care of those babies has be to rewarding but at times disappointing too. i think you have to a special person to work NICU, and Kathy seems to fit that bill. :goodvibes

 Our second DGD was born almost 8 weeks early and spent some time in NICU - the nurses there were the BEST!!! I'm glad Kathy loves being one of them! Our littlest angel will have her first birthday on April 30th party:

Best of luck to Kathy in her new job! :thumbsup2 As others have said, such a fantastic field she works in - she's a star! Mike, I mean to ask you before, did Kathy get her holiday dates honored? :flower3:

Marsha, I didn't know Pal Mickey came in a Sorceror's outfit!!! My DD's one was dressed up in a special tux and gold waistcoat (we even got a limited edition pin which she gave to me - yes I'm a crazy pin collector...) I might have to get a Pal of my own now... ;)

Karen so far it seems that her vacation request will be honored.

Marsha if they bring out an outfit with food stains from dropping food on their tee shirts I might have to get one. That way Pal Mickey and I would match:thumbsup2 :lmao: :rotfl2: Mike

The original edition just came with his standard red shorts. second was tux, gold tie and red shorts, third is the sorceror's outfit. ok i have all three :goodvibes The Sorcerors outfit will come off so you can dress him in other Disney sold outfits or ones you create :thumbsup2

:) Thanks for your welcome Karen. We are staying at Key West Resort for a few days before the cruise and after the cruise we are staying at my favorite place in the whole world: Wilderness Lodge!:cool1: We are new to the Disney Vacation Club so this is our first time using our timeshare points. We have been to WDW 3 times thus far. We try to stay at a couple of different resorts each time so we can find our favorite ones. Epcot is our favorite park; we could spend days just in the World Showcase! We love Typhoon Lagoon for relaxing and for great late night fun we hop over to Downtown Disney and The Adventures Club: KUNGALOOSH! My favorite ride since I was 5 years old is Pirates and my DH's favorite ride right now seems to be Buzz Lightyear! We each love to get our own spaceships and compete for the most points. So many more favorites of "can't miss" things to do and restaurants to eat at when we are at WDW! :)

Where do you stay when you come to WDW? What are your favorite places and things to do?

We've only been to WDW one other time and that we just a couple days before our second Disney Cruise...We stayed at Pop that time and enjoyed it. After all we really weren't in the room much at all. This time were staying at Pop again... We enjoyed it enough the first time. I'd guess that maybe if we were going for longer and not planning on being out of our room or away from the resort so much then perhaps we'd opt for a mod or delux. The first time we went to MK both days (and did MNSSHP). This time were getting two day base tickets again....but we're going to do two parks. Of course we'll do MK one day and were still deciding between MGM and Epcot for the other. I also think were going to add the "Water add on" thing..and go to both water parks as well as Disney quest. :goodvibes I'm sure one of these days...I'll be able to say exactly what my fav park is along with my fav place to stay...:goodvibes

Hi, Wendy! DH and I are new DVC members too! :thumbsup2 We bought in Feb and I can't wait to use our points - sadly that won't be until December when I'm taking my DS14 for a week's surprise WDW trip to Saratoga Springs, just me and him. Wilderness Lodge is gorgeous - I love the theming. I hope the new AKV is just as stunning... BTW, did you know there's a DVC meet onboard the cruise?

We've been to WDW 7 times so far and have many more trips planned - I don't think we'll ever get tired of it! I love the World Showcase too - I'm particularly looking forward to the Food & Wine Festival this October. I'm returning to WDW with my DD24 for that and MNSSHP! :woohoo: We're staying at the Yacht Club as we'd booked well before buying points. Previously we've stayed at the Polynesian (my fave), the Grand Floridian, Beach Club and the Dolphin.

I'm hoping to go to the Adventurer's Club with my DD. She and my DS21 went in August 2006 with their partners and had a fab time. :thumbsup2 Favourite rides? Wow, there are so many - I'll go for Splash Mountain today tho' I might change my mind tomorrow! ;)

We all love the dining opportunities in WDW - I'll be making some ADR's this weekend! One of my favourite places is California Grill - I've had some lovely evenings there with my DH. I'm going to miss him when I'm there in October but his work schedule means he has limited vacation time, so...

:welcome: Wendy & Rick!

Wow, I had three pages to catch up on. You guys were busy. I was hoping to post yesterday. But the time just got away with me after our trip to St, Louis. I don't know if anyone is familiar with Joel Osteen, but we saw him at the Scottrade Center on Friday night. It was absolutely spectacular.

Paigee10, sorry no teenagers with us. Our girls have all grown up and are out on their own. It seems that a lot of teenagers meet a number of people to hang out with in the club. I don't think anyone on this thread has mentioned any teenagers that I can remember. Here's a link to who is going so far:

All this talk of DVC is getting me anxious to go "Home"! It's nice to hear from some new members. I'm can't wait to hear from Wendy and Rick about their frist stay at OKW. Are you guys staying in a 1-bedroom villa? If so, you won't believe the amount of room you will have! We stayed in a 3-bedroom villa (grand villa) this past May with all of DH's adult family. It was wonderful! :cloud9: We will be celebrating our DVC 10 year anniversary the month before the cruise. We bought at OKW in 1997 right before BWV went on sell. We also own at Vero Beach and BCV. BCV is where we are staying this trip. We have been to WDW once or twice a year every year since 1995. I think that we counted 15 times so far. It may be more, but I'm old and get confused sometimes! :confused3

Mike, I loved that Muppets link! I was watching my DGD this morning and she made me play it about 10 times while she danced around the room. She also loves the picture of your DGD. She kept pointing at it and saying "baby, baby!" I hate to tell her, but she is only 16 months and still a baby to me.
