September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Thanks so much Marsha. Boy are you fast! I didn't realize that they are Word documents. So I can make any changes and resize pretty easily. Thanks again!

STACY:goodvibes       YEAH!!! 4SMITHS ;) I was sooooo excited to see you'd posted that I quickly rushed over to say HI:hippie: Sydney will be so happy to hear Kaylee may be going again.

Now off...to read what everyone else has posted;)

click HERE to see tshir design

can have 20 on left ear and 07 on right ear if prefer. i left background as white mainly cause i am cheap and won't use up more ink to print :)

i use dark iron on transfer paper so don't have to print "inside out". Just print as normal, and iron on any color shirt including white.

the colors can be changed easily, background color added, reverse colors etc... any changes can be made easily.

Again I don't expect anyone to use it but i offer it if someone does. Would be neat to have a design that some of us wear at least for a group pic. but doesn't have to be my design.

Would love to have the design Marsha. Thanks for all your hard work. Welcome to all our new cruisers and friends. Mike

Mike, Private message or email me what names you want on each shirt, how many designs, etc.... the design should print out about size of regular copy paper, so that sorta gives idea how big it is.

I can make one smaller if ppl just want it like in front over shoulder, smaller even if want on front of shirt etc....

thanks mike

Welcome to Stacy and family!

Wendy, You are right, DVC is not an exclusive club. But it is an addiction. We are like other addicts, always trying to get people to join in on our addiction. In the nearly 10 years that we have been members we have referred 6 families who have joined. So watch out everyone, if you are not a DVC member and love going to WDW. :duck: Oh, I promise I will be good.

I like your story about touring. It reminds me a bit of our first tour. DH set the tour up without telling me. And he set it up the morning of our last day. To be honest, he had to drag me to the appointment. Back then the tours were a lot different. we started with a continental breakfast, just us and our guide. Then they showed a wonderful movie to the whole family in a small theater. It had this song that said, "If you believe in magic, you belong." I actually cried during the movie and was ready to sign before the lights went up. After that a nice woman came in and asked if our daughters liked ice cream. They were 12 and 14 at the time and were ready to get away from Mom and Dad. So off they went to the small ice cream parlor off the main lobby. Where they watched TV and ate as much ice cream sundaes as they wanted. Our guide then took us on a tour of OKW. When we got back our guide took us to the ice cream parlor and talked about how to join, as we ate ice cream. He would not allow us to join the day of the tour. He said it was policy to allow you time to go home and discuss it first. He sent us a nice gift in the mail with a thank you card, but never called. Needless to say, we called and joined about 2 weeks later. We started with 150 points. But I fight add-onitis every year. Three times I was unable to resist and we have 400 points total now.

Well, back to the cruise.

Has everyone pretty much decided that we will meet around 3pm at the Mickey Pool on the first day? If so, which side of the ship? Have we also decided that a few of us brave ones will be at the margarita tasting on Monday?

Hey Marsha, what time were you planning on being at port? I thought if you were going to be there early we will all be able to use you, with your green t-shirt and your pals, as a beacon for an impromptu meet. I can't believe we will be able to miss all that lime green! :)

Mike, I think that my DH is looking forward to Pirates Night too. ;)

Karen, I am with you. I haven't worn a bikini in close to 10 years either. The inventor of the tankini is my hero.

Eva,

I am afraid that I will succumb to addiction as well and want more and more points! HELP! :scared1:
What is 'Margarita Monday' and why would we need to be brave to partake? We are eating at the second seating (hey that rhymes) is this not a good idea? The only other cruise we have been on was a cruise to the Mexican Rivera on Norweigan Cruise Lines. They didn't have eating/seating times as they have what is called Freestyle Crusing, more casual, eat when you want to schedule.
Also to squelch any rumors that I am a model,:rotfl:
I hope that you all realize that this DisGirl is NOT wearing a bikini! Not unless I can get a complete body lift by Sept 22, which I am taking donations for if anyone cares to contribute ;) In the mean time a potato sack will have to do.

Wendy

Marsha, I have PM'd you with my email address... :thumbsup2

Marsha,

I will also PM you with my e-mail address - it's a cute design, and I can add another cruise-specific shirt :goodvibes Thanks for working this up for all of us - and for the DIS-passenger list too!

Good morning everyone, and WELCOME to the new cruisers!!

:welcome:

I noticed quite a few of us are talking about our WDW trips before or after the cruise and at other times and thought I would post this link I found for a database where you can enter your trip info and find other DIS-ers who will be there: http://www.majesticnetworks.net/whoisgoing.html

DH and I joined DVC in 2003 after he talked me into taking the tour (that seems a familiar theme here :lmao: Our first trip to WDW was in December 2000 to WL - like Wendy, it is my favorite! We stayed at GF for a few days in December 2001 for DS wedding, then December 2003 (also WL) when we joined DVC with 160 points at SS - the only resort available then. Last year we added 200 VWL points :woohoo: and like Karen and Eva and Wendy - we keep searching the resale boards to add more!! I also talk it up to everyone I know who loves WDW! So far we have stayed at VWL (1 bedroom) and OKW (studio and 1-bedroom). We've been wanting to stay at BCV for the same reason as Eva - proximity to EPCOT!!

I keep going back to Mike's advice about the cruise (and vacations in general) - don't try to do it ALL in one trip - because it's a VACATION - and not doing it all is more reason to start planning the next trip! :cheer2:

...I am afraid that I will succumb to addiction as well and want more and more points! HELP! :scared1:
Ah, Wendy, the dreaded addonitis! Unfortunately no cure has yet been found and you are powerless to resist... :lmao:
...What is 'Margarita Monday' and why would we need to be brave to partake?
Margarita (as well as wine, beer and martini) tasting is one of the activities available on the Magic! :thumbsup2 Some of us plan to be involved... :rolleyes1 Take a look at this website to see recent Navigators for an idea of other activities...
We are eating at the second seating (hey that rhymes) is this not a good idea?
"Seems many of us are eating
At that second seating
So it's gotta make you think
It's a good time to eat and drink
Socialize with new friends and chat
About your day plus this and that
But don't forget we're on the Magic
So nothing's gonna turn out tragic
Whether early seating or late, late, late
Dining at sea's just great, great, great..."

Wendy, you don't have to eat in the dining rooms if you don't want - you can be more relaxed and eat at Topsider's between 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Plus you can have room service. It's up to you...:thumbsup2

BTW DH, DS13 and I are going on the Magic's Mexican Riviera cruise in August 2008 - very excited about it! :woohoo:
...so to squelch any rumors that I am a model,:rotfl: I hope that you all realize that this DisGirl is NOT wearing a bikini! Not unless I can get a complete body lift by Sept 22, which I am taking donations for if anyone cares to contribute ;) In the mean time a potato sack will have to do.

Wendy
Mmm, you say that NOW!!! If you get any donations for that body lift, I'll arm wrestle you for 'em - my need is greater! :rotfl2:

way cool some of you are interested in using the design.
of course I will do it tonight once i get home. I am out of town for wor, but plan to start driving home around 1p today. Should get home by 6p

So can work on this tonight.

Gees, I just go to bed and wake up this morning to a couple pages of posts. You guys are awful busy at unholy hours.

Wendy, my DH is going to be terribly disappointed. He thought that he was cruising with Christie Brinkley or something. I guess I should say Linda Carter. He has this Wonder Woman thing. He'll probably kill me for saying that. :ssst:

Karen, your poem is a hoot!

Margarita Monday, I like that name. I think we need to keep calling it that to help remind us to buy the tickets when we get on the ship. After I enter the ship and all the applause dies down  , I am going straight to Guest Services to buy the tickets for all the tastings I want to partake in. Then I will head to Topsiders for lunch and a drink of the day. Well, that's if I get my spa and Palo reservation ahead on line. If not, then I will be heading off to secure those before lunch. Work before food! Wow, that's not something that normally comes out of this mouth!

Karen, I love your poem!!! and agree completely with the sentiment!

:lmao: Just all the many and varied time zones we live in :hourglass

Marsha, thanks again for all this - no worries about later today or this evening; we have a few days before we have to be all packed :-)

BTW, DH and I will also be there early - we're driving down from VA an dplan to arrive on Friday afternoon!

Karen, your poem is a hoot!

Yeah, well, I'm sorry about that, guys! I'd just had my second cup of coffee when I found my caffeine-fuelled muse! I'm usually a decaf gal but we'd run out so my brain pretty much ran amok - rap stylee...
...Margarita Monday, I like that name. I think we need to keep calling it that to help remind us to buy the tickets when we get on the ship...
Yes, me too! :thumbsup2 It goes with Tequila Tuesday, Wine Wednesday, Thirsty Thursday - oh please somebody stop me!!! :lmao:

...After I enter the ship and all the applause dies down  , I am going straight to Guest Services to buy the tickets for all the tastings I want to partake in...
Is that coz you're walking behind me, Eva... :rotfl2: Yes, I'm going to be heading that way too... ;)

So far we have stayed at VWL (1 bedroom) and OKW (studio and 1-bedroom). We've been wanting to stay at BCV for the same reason as Eva - proximity to EPCOT!!
This week we've finally closed on the purchase of 180 VWL points - I started the buying process last December but it just took forever. :confused3 In the meantime, I got so frustrated, I called my original DVC guide and bought 150 SSR points as we all really love that Downtown Disney location and figured it would be fun to stay there. Then of course AKV was released and DH really wanted to add-on there so I got back on the phone to our guide. ;) Meanwhile, my DD's contacted our guide because she wants to join DVC and buy 160 points at AKV. As she's the one who really loves BCV and Stormalong Bay, she's planning to add-on there... :thumbsup2

...I keep going back to Mike's advice about the cruise (and vacations in general) - don't try to do it ALL in one trip - because it's a VACATION - and not doing it all is more reason to start planning the next trip! :cheer2:
Absolutely! That's what we tell ourselves every time we spend time in WDW - it's all about giving yourselves a reason to return. I'm sure the cruise will be no different - I'm already wondering when we can do the Eastern Caribbean...:cloud9:

Thanks to everyone for the welcomes:sunny: !

I put down our deposit today, so we're official!

My right hand is in a splint, so I must be brief, but here is some info on us:

Travelling will be me (Stacy), DH Eric and DD Kaylee (9yo). DD Tegan (3 mos old) will not be sailing with us this time. This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise, and our 3rd attempt at a western itinerary....diverted by hurricanes the first two times. We travelled the previous two cruises with Scrapperjill and the Scrapperjill Posse, and AmericanScrapper and her family. (Hi Girls!:wave2: )

I will send our info to add to the crusie webpage when I can type more. Until then I will be trying to catch up on the thread....it's a lot easier to read than to type right now!!!!

Thanks to everyone for the welcomes:sunny: !

Great to have you with us.

Karen on the eastern route there is the 12 meter regatta on St Marteen that is a blast to do. It is former 12 meter America's Cup racing sailboats that you crew and race against one another. I think that the job of beverage wench onboard would be just your cup of tea so to speak.:thumbsup2 :lmao: She is in charge of dispensing the cold beer, water and soda's (cokes to us southerners). Only after the race is over. Mike

what about a business card that ppl can wear in their lanyard?
