...I think that a quick meet for a drink at 3:00 sounds great too...And I am definitely having a BBC at the meet!
Order one for me too! :thumbsup2
...We may not have as much trouble meeting as other, since it is just the two of us. But we do plan on doing the spa and a number of the activities during sea days. Anyone for a meet at one of the tastings? I understand if not, some do not drink and others are too young to drink...
Great idea, Eva! I'm happy to sign up for some (any) tastings that are going on... :drinking:
...Karen, I just saw your post about meeting after dinner. That is a great idea. Maybe we could meet around 10pm up on the deck one night to have a drink and visit. I know that last time they had live music around the adult pool and people were relaxing up there after 10pm...
Sounds fab - I just figured that a get-together might be less hectic in the evening than during the day... :)

OK... How about deck 10 above the Goofy Pool on the starboard side? I'll have a photographer on the other side(port) take the pic. Sound good??? Time 3:30.:thumbsup2

Marsha... Do we have a head count as of today?

JMO again...but I think 3 would be better...simpley because if were having a BBC, Miami Vice or Bahama Mama's...we'll need to get them before 3:30....(I didn't even think about how they shut down all services at 3:30 inorder to get ready for the boat drill...PLUS by having it at 3:00..it'd give us almost an hour (Not quite)...where as if we did 3:30..we'd have 15-20mins. Not that it'll take a bunch of time...but just in case anyone wants to do more chatting than just a quick HI. I also think closer to the mickey pool... because it's going to be the younger kids that'll want to swim "now"....where as the older kids that would be in the goofy pool would understand and be able to wait. Plus as a side thought I'm not even sure if the goofy pool is open at that time because of the upcomming sail-a-way party.

Now I don't know about anyone else but I kinda liked the idea of the group down on deck 9...and the photographer up on deck 10 looking down at us taking the shot...or having us lined down the stairway....it's something diffrent. Of course the stairs would take more planning and organization...where as we could just be a group/crowd on deck 9 looking up to deck 10 not a whole lot of planning or organizing there. I know the photographers have great cameras...but it would be more of a distance for the photo...if they were on one side of the ship and the groups on the other. In other words the photograpeher would be able to take a closer shot looking down on us. Anyhow...I'm sure there's something reguarding those two ideas that I haven't thoguht of...making them not work as well as I'm invisioning.

Anywho...those are just a couple of my thoughts.

OH...another thought that just popped into my mind is..I've always been able to get faster bar service when I'm down on deck 9...it seems like there's alot more CM's going around taking orders and stuff when compaired to deck 10. Of course I like the openess up on deck 10...with the views of the water and horizon.

Well, it sounds like a tasting could be a hit for some of us. Which one do you guys fancy? I think that any of them will be ok with us. I might have to drink some of DH's drinks if it is a Margarita or Martini tasting, but I don't mind. ;) He is not much into mixed drinks except a few fruity frozen ones. But he will give them a try.

Jill, you have a lot of patience. We never can wait for the waiter to come by. Once our glasses are empty it is time to hit the bar. We usually make pretty good friends with the bartender on each cruise.

a current list is on the website, see the link below in signature. unless someone has just today joined saying they are coming it is up to date.

I haven't counted "number" wise but can do that tonight.

:cool1:

Ok scrapperjill, you are now the Goddess of keeping track a "list" of get togethers. When you have something for me to add to website, let me know either Private message or email. Ok Goddess of Get Togethers get cracking on keeping track of preferences, etc... when, where, time, for what i.e. photo, celebrate etc...

I also like the idea of having something planned each day but everyone knowing its totally OPTIONAL to attend. It may just end up being one, two or three ppl but still nice way of keeping some connection. Also good time for more photo ops with a few Disser's. So Goddess of get togethers, please just let me know what is planned and again I will add to website.

For me I will print out that page and cruiser list page and take with me. that way sorta know where ppl are, when things are scheduled, where etc...

okey dokey? :thumbsup2

Ok count as of today seems to be around 83 cruisers which include kids, family, friends, etc......

Probably we will need to pm some of the people on the list, as it gets closer to the cruise. Some may have canceled since they posted here.

I have a question for those of you that have been on recently. I can't remember, but do they give you the first Navigator when you check-in before you board? Or is it in your stateroom? I just thought if we had the Navigator while we were waiting to board we might be able to see when some on the major events are happening during the week. Then maybe we could plan things more efficiently. It's a good time to do things when you are just standing around with nothing to do. I was really surprised when I saw the most recent Navigator posted on this site. I don't remember the first Navigator giving a lot of details about the major events and activities for the entire week.

Wow, Marsha. Thanks for counting. If all 83 show up for a meet, we will take quite a few tables.

here is the button I will be wearing to show I am a Disser... I buy a plastic button at Michael's craft store. you just pop off the back from front, place pic in and snap back together. I have this on Word so easy to change names, words, add/delete etc... if anyone would like a copy. This pic of button is not actual size, what I use is a little larger than the one below. I use the large button but could be resized to fit whatever size button one wants to use. Unless I find a polo top in lime green, I won't have a lime green shirt just the button, and little canvas lime green bag handing on chair.

Last cruise I made a design and iron on transfer to a polo shirt. I may end up doing this again but not sure if can find lime green shirt. Jan cruise I wore a orange polo but still wore my DIS button. picture below is not actual size, what was on polo top was larger. I wore this as my boarding shirt and Pal Mickey had the same design on his white and orange tshirt <G>

I haven't cruised lately....but they do give you a navagator for the day when you check in. I don't know that it lists what's happening t/o the week...or just that day. From the best I can remember it's only for that current day...but things may have changed.

When it gets closer we can look up recent navagators that people have posted or shaired. And get a good idea of what will be offered and when for our week. Of course things change now and then...but it would be a starting place.

If we set up daily meets...I'd suggest picking ONE time and ONE place to keep it simple. It'd be alot easer to remember if we all just knew at "XX" time and "XX" place theres a dis group meet....rather than having diffrent locations and diffrent times all week long.

Of course that'd be totally diffrent if we all decided to do a cruise activity together....like the tasting....that would be baised soley on when and where the tasting was.

So far Brady...I've seen ...

1. Meeting on day one.
2. Times between: 3:00 and 3:30.
3. Locations: Somewhere on the ship:lmao: Just kidding....I've read...
Deck 10 above the Goofy pool
Deck 7....the secret deck aft
Deck 10 above the Mickey pool
Deck 9 by the Mickey pool
4. Group photo to be done at first meet.
Photographer looking acoss deck 10 as the group in on the starboard side..and photographer is on the port side.
Photographer up on deck 10, while group is down on deck 9.
Photographer down on deck 9 (near mickey pool) while group is on stairs leading up to deck 10...looking down at photographer.
AND a new one that I just had...the photographer on deck 8....looking down on us on deck 7 secret aft deck. I have a photo of some of our group as I was down on the secret deck looking up at the rest of our group...on deck 8 ..it turned out nicely...and think it would look even better the oppisite way. I'm not sure what's at the end of the ship when were in port at PC...but we'd have what ever it was in the background.
5. Various meets throught out the week..that NO_ONE is obligated to attend. They'd just be set up if you wanted to meet up with fellow diser any given day.
6. Poss of many dissers attending one, some or all of the tastings offered by DCL.

Brady...

Have you ever checked out the polo type shirts at LL Bean? They've got a nice lime green ;)

ok you are bad :p Now you know I will have to check it out. I did look at local stores last year, but honestly reason ended up wearing orange to board, was due to only finding the little tshirt for Pal and it was white with orange sleeves. LOL :rotfl2: Ya know he and I had to blend :lmao:

Ok now to look for lime green polo for me, and little lime green shirts for Pal Mickey and Minnie. A family needs to blend right? :)

So first get together will be at 3p at???
Since doing pic at first meet then have get together at or near where we plan for pic makes sense.

Now to narrow down where most would like to get a group pic.

jump everyone with your thoughts and ideas.

Also there a several we haven't heard from in a while so if someone PM's or sees them around on boards, check in with them. hopefully they are still cruising and haven't been able to drop by the thread.

later gators

The navigator that you are handed at the terminal is for the first day only. A new one is slipped under your door every evening.

Sorry that I haven't been as active lately, but I had both grand daughters to baby sit today. A 4 year old and a 4 month old. Now I know why God doesn't give old people children. The mind is willing, but the body ain't able. I am tired. Mike

Been missing you Mike. On the Jan cruise they put the next day's navigator on our bed when they turned it down. So we had it when got back to room after dinner.

WOW no wonder you have been busy. a 4yo and 4 month has to be a hand full, but I imagine a blessing too.

Take care of you and don't let those beautiful granddaughters wrap you around their little finger :goodvibes

Ok according to our current list. there are 83 ppl on the list. 22 that have DIS user names. The rest are listed to someone user's name, meaning, family, friends, etc... then of course those are listed individually i.e. DH, or DW, or parents, or DD or DS, etc...

Oh and I didn't count Pal Mickey and Minnie in the 83 LOL

I think a four month old and a four year old would keep anyone busy..and wear them out. :scared:

Did you take a look at the Navagator links that Eva put in her post? It does look as if they give you an over view of what's happening that week.. IMO it's a very good idea...at least for those of us who like to plan;) They must give you something else also...somthing that list what's happening just that day and the times for events as well. I wonder if they end up cutting back on reprinting the SAME stuff every day by making one master/general overview of event for the week then a smaller 1 or 2 page daily navagator.

Anywho....I'm guess they'll continue to place a new navagator nightly in the stateroom that breaks down what's happening the next day.

Wow - I don't come to the boards for a day or two and everyone gets so chatty! My vote is for a 3:00 meet either by the Mickey or Goofy Pool also. We have always done it by the Mickey pool before and it seemed to be a good turnout. The first day is usually the day that everyone makes a point to attend the meet. This way, even if they don't get a chance to attend the other meetings, they do get a chance to meet & put a face to a name.
