September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

Hope you don't mind me jumping in! This will be our first Disney cruise and we are excited! It is myself, DH - Mike and our son Dylan who will be 2 both celebrating birthdays onboard. We are also bringing my parents, Jerry & Pat to celebrate their 40th Anniversary! Now that is is almost 6 months away we are getting anxious and want to really start planning! We look forward to seeing you along the way!

Welcome abroard. I have added you and family to our cruiser list. The link is at bottom of my signature to check out all cruising, celebrations, etc...

Make sure I have this correct: Mike will be celebrating a birthday, and Dylan will be celebrating his 2nd birthday?

Look forward to celebrating on ship :goodvibes

Welcome Jamie. This is our 1st cruise also. Looking forward to meeting your family and folks.

We print very few of our cruise photos. We take too many to print:lmao: I could cruise again for that much money.

We dress up a little for pirate night. Too conservative, I guess.

Karen I have never been a suit and tie kind of guy. My line of work was more blue collar, levis and tee shirt. Worked outdoors, on the railroad tracks for 28 years before going off on occupational disability in 2000. Mike

Mike, when I first met my DH, we were both 15 - back then he had long floppy hair and lived in grungy jeans & t-shirts! He pretty much looked like that till he was 22 and started working full-time. I don't think either of us ever thought he'd become a suit & tie man! I'm going to have to hunt out some old photos to remind him (and me!)...

Welcome aboard Jamie and family. Good to have you with us on the cruise.

Karen, I can't show you the photo taken of our family when I had long hair, and my powder blue 100% polyester leisure suit, with the collars wide enough to reach to London.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: Shades of John Travolta.

Marsha hope that you are having a good day there in central Florida. Mike

Mike, they forecasted it to be rain most of today. So I slept in. grrrr It is beautiful out, sunny, temps are great. Would have been great day to visit the parks. Oh well. maybe next weekend.

Hope things your way are ok and weather is good.

each day passes is one day closer to cruise time in sept HOORAY!!!!!

Jamie ... you'll find here a bunch of talkers and friendly people. Ask anything about this cruise or any other ... and we'll be more then happy to answer.
Marsha may ask for your cabin # and all your celebration dates, she's nosey:rotfl2: NO.. Just Kidding... she's keeping a list of all of us and where we are all staying.

See you here again...

Ann

:lmao: Oh Goddess of the List... I deeply apoligize of the insults I may have inflicted on You!:rotfl2:

Hi Marsha...
I have to change that for my DD and DSIL. They moved it to the Eastern, 15-22nd. He works for the Sherrif's Office and his time is very hard to manuver here. Sorry:headache:

OK... Hi Marsha,
I just found this thread on another Dis Meet...
Jeisur did this shirt for her son... Very adaptable for anyone! Im looking into it too.

Check May 26th Med Cruise(M&M's) page 89 and I for got the post # it's at the bottom of her page with html.

Easy pirate night shirt if you dont want to "dress-up" and be more comfortable. I have 3 of the to do!pirate:

Welcome Jamie!

There are some veterans here on this cruise. So be sure to ask away. We've been twice, but not on the Western. So I won't know much about the ports of calls.

As a matter of fact, I am trying to get some info on the main board about an excursion in Cozumel with no luck. Has anyone here used Island Marketing Ltd. to book an excursion? We are wanting to go zip lining in the jungle and they have an excursion in Playa Del Carmen that last 4 hours and starts with an ATV ride into the jungle, riding zip lines through the forest, and ends with a swim in an underground cave. Any advice?

I know we were planning on not leaving the ship in Cozumel. But DH saw a cruise special on the Travel Channel and Samantha Brown was zip lining through the jungle. Well, after DH saw that he now insists he wants to do that too. Yikes, I guess I better get over the fear of heights.

I told him I will ride TOT this year too! :scared1:

thanks I have a pirate of the caribbean tshirt i bought at Kmart :goodvibes just doesn't way disney on it but it works. my pirate outfit is ready to go at least what i plan for now.

maybe someone else that doesn't have a shirt or outfit may want to use this idea.

i will be dressed just not "professional" and more like the pirate that was forgotten about :rotfl2:

The only excursions that we have done so far in Cozumel are some snorkeling.
We have done the island tour in Gand Caymen, green turtle farm, been to Hell, beaches are on our next to do list.

We did the Southermost Scavenger Hunt while in Key West. Just want to take our time and see the sights this time. Mike

Oh Mike! My imagination is working overtime - I bet you were Mr. Cool!!! :cool1: :lmao: :cool1:

Wow, Eva, that sounds a fab excursion! We're sticking with the Xcaret Eco-Park in Cozumel as we're hoping to do the zip-lining thing next year in Puerta Vallarta with our son - he's a true adrenaline junkie!

Have you not braved TOT yet?! I'm not great with heights and I love it - it's probably my favourite WDW ride. :thumbsup2

At the moment I think we're hitting the beach in Grand Cayman - possibly the 7 mile Beach as it sounds v nice. We're definitely doing our own thing in Key West as it's our 25th Wedding Anniversary that day - anyone who wants to join us for a drink is very welcome...

Karen, We are going to do Key West on our own too. We may rent mopeds for a couple hours and then walk around for awhile before heading back to the ship. Maybe we will be able to join you for a drink at one of the famous bars there to celebrate you anniversary. Are you eating at Palo that night?

I hope that everyone doesn't get their hopes up that we will be in full pirate costumes. I said I was just looking. But I did say something to DH about it and he floored me by saying that I should loosen up, it is vacation. So I guess that he wouldn't mind the full costume. I would love to see him as Captain Jack, especially since he has the right beard and mustache, minus the braids. ;) But that costume seems to be way over done. Oh well, we have time to think about it.

I have been on TOT a few times. And every time I say, "NEVER AGAIN!" But someone always seems to drag me back on it again.

...Are you eating at Palo that night?
No, we're eating at Palo's on Thursday 27th (the semi-formal) as that's the day of our VR. That's included in the package - not sure if we can make our own booking too...

How cool is that!? Maybe I could persuade my DH to sport the Will Turner look...? :cool1:

WELCOME Jamie :flower3: You'll find alot of info, tips and ideas here on the cruise meet board... PLUS you'll be able to find out who else is cruising with you.

Marsha....Looks like I lucked out...by giving you the start on the list I've dodge the bullet of being lable the 'Goddess of Lists' and having everyone be for warned of me wanting "to know". ;) hee hee hee.

How do you find out about the scavenger hunt in Key West? Is that a Disney thing...or something from the locals? And is it kid frendly? I'm thinking if it is it's something my girls would LOVE.
