What a gorgeous baby and Phoenix Rose is such a pretty name... :thumbsup2

Hope everyone else is keeping well and looking forward to the weekend... :cool1:

Thanks guys, I think my son and his wife are going to keep her. Mike

Hope that everyone had a great weekend.

We celebrated Thanksgiving early as we had the kids over. Kathy is working Thanksgiving so I fixed Turkey and dressing. Spiral sliced honey ham, green beans, candied sweet potatoes, crescent rolls, home made pecan pies, sweet tea and other stuff. Kathy came home from work this morning and made two home made chocolate pies with meringue, fruit salad and mashed potatoes. We are so full.

Sounds like you had a busy and FULL day :thumbsup2 . I spent the day shopping with my mom for our dinner items. For the past 5 years dh and I always have my parents and his (dad) over for Thanksgiving. This year is mom is comming also...which our girls are super excited about. We're doing the whole works again this year... except I'm going to take a break from dessert making....and let my girls do it. Of course that could be causing more work for me in the long run. BUT they'll have a blast doing it..and heck how bad can making apple pie and a malt pie be??? For who ever likes malt...or whoppers...this pie is WONDERFUL :thumbsup2 . I'd be more than happy to share the recipe if anyone would like it.

Hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving and enjoys their families company. Malt pie sounds interesting. Mike

Malt pie?? I am always game for a new recipe..thanks sharon

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! Sandi, Malt Pie sound delicious. Jim would probably really like it.

We are going to my parents for Thanksgiving this year. I have been working a crazy amount of hours so not doing any real baking. Just throwing a Taffy Apple Market Day pie in the oven. My mom works at a bakery so I really don't even have to do that since she will have plenty of desserts, but my son has been asking for it since I bought it.

Don't stuff yourselves too much!! Enjoy.

Kathy

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!

I am tired of eating left overs already. Used the last of the turkey to make turkey hash to send to work with Kathy. Mike

Sorry about not getting back about the malt pie recipe yet...We did the after Thanksgiving shopping yesterday and when we got back I was SOOOO darn tired I didn't do a thing. Jesse and I ended up being up until 1:30am Thursday night( actually Friday EARLY morning)...then getting up at 3:30am to head off shopping....Which we did until early afternoon. I think we went just about EVERWHERE :confused3 Anyhow I don't think I've even checked the computer since Wed.

Anyhow hope everyone had a great Thanskgiving. And I'll post that recipe later (I have to dig it back out).

Bumping us up to page one again. Mike

Not a lot of activity with this thread. Mike

Nope...I'm thinking people are just to busy with holiday stuff right now. I know I am. Between the crappy weather (cold and snowy), family around for Thanksgiving, work and school...I know I've been running....OH and there's all that shopping I've been doing. Anyways...I don't know about anyone else...but we've just seemed swamped.

BUT that sure doesn't mean I haven't been thinking 'cruise' none stop. We actually have our next cruise gathering Saturday :thumbsup2 We're doing a baked potato bar and some sort of mixed drink this time...and were planning on talking about the ports of call and a little about rebooking onboard.

I'd love to get some ideas from everyone here on what to discuss at our gatherings. We have about 15 people (kids included) that come.....all have cruised at least once with DCL except one family. Even for those of us who have cruised with DCL...it makes a FUN night to get together and talk about our other cruises.

Mike ..sorry to hear about your sister.Wishing her a complete recovery.sharon & jm

My sister is a cardiac nurse, my wife worked in an NICU for 20 years, retired and worked for 3 years with http://www.nfnf.org. She recently joined my sister on the cardiac floor.

My sister is at home recovering and will have her bypass surgery in about a month. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. Mike
