Some good news this afternoon. My sister had an examination by the cardiologist and he said that she would not have to have bypass surgery after all. The stents and plavix medication have taken care of the blockages and she is going back to work tonight. No heavy lifting or bending for the next three weeks. The nurse manager said that she could return and just do charge nurse work for the next three weeks. Mike

We are the quiet bunch aren't we!

Here in Not So Sunny Arizona... it's Cold. For the past 3 nights our bird bath has frozen!:confused3
Iam so not used to this.

Ive read this entire therad and Ive come up with: this group has a name of
"Magical Memory Tour 07". Sounds very nice. Are there any activities going on as a DisMeet?

Ann

Since we joined this thread Ann, it has always been super quiet. No activities or dis meets are planned to my knowledge. Mike

I'm sure we will plan some sort of Dis meet.... I just figured it wasn't something we needed to rush into. We do have a little time to plan it ;) ...and like Papa said...the boards been real quiet. I'm not sure why...Maybe the holidays and the whole "2006" thing....Now that 2007 is here maybe people will realize the cruise is just around the corner and start joining in. We have about 8 months to go:thumbsup2 and I'm getting EXCITED!!!

Our small group just got together again last Saturday to "talk" about more cruise stuff:). This time we talked alot about Key West and what there was to do there. Next time were talking about Grand Cayman. What's everyone else thinking about for port days? So far I think we've decided to just walk and take in the sights in Key West...and I'm hopeing to do a Stingray City excrusion in GC. But I'd LOVE to here some other ideas.

I've also been racking my brain on what sort of 'things' I may need to get for the crusie before to long. So far I can't think of a thing. :confused3

Anyways....about a cruise meet.... The ones I've been to we've had a initial short cruise meet (just to really put a face to a name) on the first day onboard. I want to say they were both near the Mickey Pool so the kids in the group could swim (we all know that's the FIRST place they want to go)...and it gave the adults a chance to chat a little. I know on the second cruise it was next to the Micky Pool...but the first cruise...I really don't remember. Anywho.... I do remember they were between 3:00-4:00. Which seemed like a good time. It gave everyone a chance to get aboard, check out their stateroom...meet for a short period...then head off to the boat drill. What sort of experiences does everyone else have with dis meets? Oh...last time we also had several other meets set up (but from what I heard latter on...the turn out wasn't so good). The one thing I realized with the meets was...once we were on board and sailing I forgot ALOT of things...including just about every other dis meet after the first one. The fact was we were just to busy with the family to think about it very much. However with that said...I was very glad we'd set up the inital first dis meet that first day so we did have the chance to put a face with a name...so when we'd run into people through out the week...we could say HI:goodvibes Anyways...let's hear what everyone else has done for dis meets??? When, Where, Why...

On our previous cruises, the meets were at the sail away parties on deck ten starboard. We had our meet on the first day to put names and faces together. After that it was nice to run into people all over the ship. Our groups had always had name tags made to go on our lanyards and shirts made up to wear so that we would recognize one another. Mike

How did your whole group get tee shirts? And what sort of name tags?

I've heard of quite a few meets at the Sail-a-way parties.....but I've also heard it's usually way to loud and busy to really meet anyone? What did you think?

My kids are so use to being right down in the action...that I don't know we'd be able to pull them away to meet up on deck 10 during the party. They're so funny they like dancing right in front of the stage (and on it). During our first cruise we almost had to bribe our oldest daughter to loosen up and have fun...but before we knew it she'd grabed a girl she'd just met in the terminal and started spinning around dancing. Than last time she was one of the first to run right up to the front of the stage area and started dancing all around. Looking back at our photos from the sail a way party...I saw our girls (and some of the other kids in our group) worked their way up onto the stage:rotfl: with the CM's.

Well...I can't wait to hear what other experiences you all have doing dis meets. And Papa...what you thought about the meet during the party (to loud, to much action going on???)

It is loud and noisy up there. We usually get shirts from cafepress or someone would design a logo and email it to everyone to print out and iron on a tee shirt using their own printers. Mike
