September 22, 2007 -- WESTERN

ok the one for a tshirt (front of shirt) has been resized. it isn't equal to like a full page of copy paper. but close to work well on a tshirt.

those that have requested for tshirt i hope to get those out to you tonight.

those wanting something smaller, i will work on that and hopefully can get those out too.

remember too once you receive you can change anything on it, resize it etc.... since it is in a word document using drawing features.

I need to catch up on all the posts since last night and go thru all the PM's. WOW I was so excited to hear from so many of you wanting to use the design in some form or fashion. way cool.

I think I am going to use the business card design to put in my lanyard's card holder. If do that then may not need the button/s. But knowing me I will make both and use both LOL.

me again with another possibility.

this is specifically for a Avery Name Badge 5164

Avery%205164%20name%20badge.jpg

its not posting too clearly as i saved it in a jpg so could post. printing it from publisher is much clearer. this too may work in lanyard card holder. i haven't checked but might work.

Absolutely! That's what we tell ourselves every time we spend time in WDW - it's all about giving yourselves a reason to return. I'm sure the cruise will be no different - I'm already wondering when we can do the Eastern Caribbean...:cloud9:

DH has his heart set on the one that goes through the Panama Canal ... or Europe ... or ... maybe we'll book the Eastern next time too :rotfl:

Ah, Wendy, the dreaded addonitis! Unfortunately no cure has yet been found and you are powerless to resist... :lmao: Margarita (as well as wine, beer and martini) tasting is one of the activities available on the Magic! :thumbsup2 Some of us plan to be involved... :rolleyes1 Take a look at this website to see recent Navigators for an idea of other activities...

"Seems many of us are eating
At that second seating
So it's gotta make you think
It's a good time to eat and drink
Socialize with new friends and chat
About your day plus this and that
But don't forget we're on the Magic
So nothing's gonna turn out tragic
Whether early seating or late, late, late
Dining at sea's just great, great, great..."

I Suppose it's not a bad way to go...He or She who dies with the most points WINs!

The website is great! Thanks. Lots of info there.

Karen, YOU are hysterical: :coffee: Caffine is your creative juice!

Wendy

Okay. I don't want to make you read full quotes so would someone tell me how to respond with a partial quote? Thanks :confused3

Wendy

Gees, I just go to bed and wake up this morning to a couple pages of posts. You guys are awful busy at unholy hours.

Wendy, my DH is going to be terribly disappointed. He thought that he was cruising with Christie Brinkley or something. I guess I should say Linda Carter. He has this Wonder Woman thing. He'll probably kill me for saying that. :ssst:

Karen, your poem is a hoot!

Margarita Monday, I like that name. I think we need to keep calling it that to help remind us to buy the tickets when we get on the ship. After I enter the ship and all the applause dies down  , I am going straight to Guest Services to buy the tickets for all the tastings I want to partake in. Then I will head to Topsiders for lunch and a drink of the day. Well, that's if I get my spa and Palo reservation ahead on line. If not, then I will be heading off to secure those before lunch. Work before food! Wow, that's not something that normally comes out of this mouth!

Eva, I will try to find a Wonder Woman suit if that will suffice?
Pssssssssssssss! No one will tell him you let the cat out of the bag.:cool2:

I usually log on to this sight in the early evening 6ish or so Northern California time. :surfweb: As summer comes on I may be a little later as we start to have some really wonderful summer evenings here in the Sonoma County Wine Country. Sitting out side on the patio w/a glass of wine, a plate of cheese and olives, great music, a book or a game becomes more of a habit than sitting at the computer too early in the evening.

So you need to buy tickets for tastings you want to participate in?
You will be dinning at Topsiders before castaway? :boat: We can board that early?
What spa treats do you treat yourself to?
Is Palo a must? We have been thinking that we need to eat there at least once. What say you? Will there be a mad dash for Guest Services for all of this ticket buying and reservations? Will I need elbow and knee pads and a big stick to make it through the line? :darth:

Wendy

Okay. I don't want to make you read full quotes so would someone tell me how to respond with a partial quote? Thanks :confused3

Wendy

All I do to post partial quotes is hit the quote button...then backspace to erase anything I don't want repeated. :thumbsup2 There may be another way but this ways easy and fast....and not complicated at all.

Sorry about that KnotyScot...I've been away from the boards for a few days....I've tryed to pop in and read a little but I'm just now getting time to back track some and catch up on my reading. Anywho...this'll be our THRID Disney cruise :cool1: Our first one was AWESOME...and our second one was even better. Of course both time's we were rerouted to diffrent ports because of hurricanes...but we still had a GREAT time. On our first cruise we met some great disers onboard (met them before the cruise here in the cruise meet thread;) ) and fast became good friends once we were on board....it's American Scrapper and her family along with ThreeSmiths (now Four Smiths;) )and her family. On our second cruise American Scrapper and Three Smiths joined us also....along with my parents our two neices and one of my good friends along with her partner and kids....in all we had a big group and a great time. This time around...it's looking like we'll have close to the same amount with everyone except my parents and one neice joining us again ... we're also having DH's mom and a neice join us as well as a co-worker and her two boys come along also...

Last time was our very first time to WDW....:goodvibes And I have to say I LOVED it. We stayed in the 60's building at POP...which was right next to the groovy flower pool and the main hall....since we only had two days there and it was ALL of our first time to the world we ran nonstop....from sun up till sun down... needless to say we didn't get to see much of the resort at all. Matter of fact we went from our building to the pool and main hall.... This time I'd really like to spend a little time looking around the grounds more. I wanted to find the Potatos...and see the huge foos ball people.

I'd love to go through the world showcase and see everything it has to offer....but I'm not sure the kids will love it as much. I know I was looking forward to doing Soarin and DH was wanting to try Test Track...and I do have ADR at Le Cellier;) just in case that's where we decide to go. But on the other hand...I REALLY wanted to to TOT...along with DH and DD's...and I'm sure DH along with the boys that are going would LOVE the stunt shows. The more I read about dinning at MGM the more I wanted to try Sci-fi...although at the moment I do have ADR at both Sci-fi and 50's PT:confused: I know ...I'm bad. But I will cancle which ever one we decide agains SOON. Then...the more I read about other places near MGM and Epcot to eat the more I started looking at Spoodles.... So...I also have a ADR at Spoodles :sad2:

BTW...The more information the better;) .

I think doing Typhoon Lagoon the day before the cruise will be perfect...what do you think? I didn't realize they played music...but it sounds like fun and a great way to set the mood for heading for the cruise the next day. I've heard when the water parks fill up they stop allowing people in. Anyone think we'll have any problems not showing up at opening at that time of the year? We were thinking about sleeping in a bit then heading over between 10:00 to noon.

DisneyQuest...I think I'll find I'll only be able to take so much as well. Luckly I think DH will LOVE it and wouldn't mind hanging out with the kids for a while so I can stroll around and do some shopping :) I'm guessing our group will be sorta split on Disney Quest...with the kids wanting to stay all day...and most of us girls wanting to do some shopping and looking around DTD.

Has anyone done the build your own coster in Disney Quest? Is there any additional charges for that? That's the ONE thing my DD realy wants to do there. And is there a limit to how many you can do? AND...those cards they give you that have your coster plans on...do you get to keep those or do they keep them? I think they'd make great Scrapbook stuff.

Oh...My DD found the cutest Pirate bikni today at Fred Meyers. I know...Fred Meyers....who would have thought. But it was very cute. at least IMO. At first I wasn't to sure but after she tryed it on.... I'm guessing you won't have to much of a problem this season finding a priate bikni....I've seen a few of them....and it's still quite early in the season. If all else fails you could go with the eye patches :rotfl2: ...I

Just a recap... SO FAR....we have first official Dis cruise meet to be held by the Mickey pool at 3pm on the Saturday we board the ship. We'll shoot for the side oppisite the slide...so we can have a clear view of the pool....That would be the Starboard side for all of those who like the natical terms ;) I'm guessing if we find it two crowded at the poolside we can always go up the stairs and "meet" above the Mickey pool on the Starboard side...so those of us with kids who want to be in the pool can still have a good view of it ;) ...At that time we'll be able to put a face to a name...have a drink or two...get the photo done (we've planned to have a group photo done at the meet :goodvibes which should be fun (I still think lining the stairs would be a cool or shot from above as we all loosly group together below) then have time to get off to the boat drill. Hey...DCL doesn't have any rules about being intoxicated at the boat drills do they???? Stay focused....The next unoficial dis meet we had discussed were the tastings. I'm totally up for the Margritia Monday:goodvibes I'm looking forward to that one. It sounded to me like that one had more of us intresed than any of the others...not saying we can't sign up for others as we like...but I think we'll find more from our cruise meet at the MM one... Who knows.

KnotyScot....
You do have to sign up for the tastings....I've never done them so I'm not sure what the process is for signing up for them or how early their announced. I'm planning on checking sometime after we board... There is a fee...which I belive may vary from one tasting to another. I think the Margrita tasting is $15pp.

Palo...is GREAT. And IMO worth trying. I've heard mixed reviews so I'm guessing it may depend on your style of eating an choices of NIEC places around home. We don't have a HUGE variety of good/nice places to eat out around here...so PALO is great in our book. Keep in mind there is a fee pp there also. We've done both Brunch and dinner...and IMO I prefered Brunch. Dinner was great...but Brunch was a wee bit better....imo. ;)

I don't think theres any need for the knee/elbow pads:rotfl: but a stick or a bat may be handy;) no really...I think now that you can make alot of your reservations and booking online head of time it's really cut down on the mad dash to book stuff. Also if you don't get the time/day your really wanting go to Palo once your on the ship and get put on the "list" to be called if they have a opening.

As for spa treatments...I'm not huge on them. I know call me crazy...but for the money they charge on the ship I could get just about the same stuff done at a spa at home for less...plus call me even crazer...I don't want to spend my time on the ship so relaxed in the spa instead of seeing sights on the ship.:scared: Anyhow...on that note...DH and I did do the couples massage on our first cruise and LOVED it.

OH... I was also going to say Stacy...I love the "Scrapperjill Posse" I think I may have to use that for the name tags/buttons that I make up for my group :)

Great to have you with us.

Karen on the eastern route there is the 12 meter regatta on St Marteen that is a blast to do. It is former 12 meter America's Cup racing sailboats that you crew and race against one another. I think that the job of beverage wench onboard would be just your cup of tea so to speak.:thumbsup2 :lmao: She is in charge of dispensing the cold beer, water and soda's (cokes to us southerners). Only after the race is over. Mike

Hi Mike,
the 12 meter regatta is just up my alley! :yay:
Dh and I always have "feel the need for speed". I cant wait for it!

Ann

Ok I updated the website DIS meets page: Saturday find as many Diser's in terminal you can. 3p Saturday: Mickey's Pool, Starboard side, Monday Margritia time and location check navigator

ok guys these two designs work perfect in the lanyard card holder (the one I bought on last cruise at MouseMates, DCL lanyard with card holder and ziplock top)

solid%20background.jpg

white%20background.jpg

you could print on harder course paper than basic copy paper.
or copy on basic copy paper and laminate. What i often use to laminate is cheap <G> just buy like clear shelving adhesive paper.

I like the one with solid background and the mick icon still stands out well with the black border. but the white background prints out well too. and both are done in word document not publisher.

OK Marsha, I changed my mind. Can you send me the graphic that fits in the Avery Name Badge 5164? I found that I have a few of those left from a meet that I organized a few years ago. I can't believe I still have them. I am going to see if my friend who has one of those high-end embroidery machines can use your t-shirt graphic reduced in size and embroidery it on the sleeve of a polo for DH and on the upper breast of a camp shirt for me. Keep your fingers crossed. I think that they will really stand out on white.

Wendy, they normally start boarding between 11:45 and 12:15. We were on the ship and eating at Topsiders before noon on our last cruise. I do have to admit that we were the second family through the metal detectors at the entrance to the terminal. I have always been a hurry up and wait type of girl. Unfortunately, DH is the opposite. If he didn't have me around he would be late for everything. The only place I don't hurry to is work. ;)

Palo is a must for us. We have dined there on our past two cruises and definitely will again this year. It guarantees one dinner alone with DH. And since this cruise is for our 25th, I'm going to make sure we hit as many romantic spots during the cruise as we can. Of course, while we are relaxing.

This year will be the first time that I treat myself to a spa treatment. To be honest, I have never had a professional massage. I am really looking forward to it. I am going to reserve the hot stone massge ahead on line. I've had a number of people highly recommend this massage. And then I am going to check back at the spa from time to time to see if they offer any specials during the cruise. Some people might consider me a bit high strung, so a spa treatment could be a really good thing for me. Is anyone else looking at a spa treatment?

No needs for sticks (or light sabers! :lmao: ) Get a drink and go with the flow. We are going to stop by Guest Services as we board to buy our tasting tickets. But if they are too crowded, we will just move along and come back later. The only thing I will do before eating is make a reservation at Palo, if I wasn't able to on line. Does anyone know if Palo reservations are still taken at Rockin Bar D?

Just 5 months 2 weeks and 2 days to cruise day! :cheer2: I guess that is better than 6 months!

Oh, I almost forgot yesterday was 5 weeks smoke free!

Okay, I'll add my opinion on a couple of things:

I agree w/ Scrapperjill, the Palo brunch should NOT be missed. Dinner is incredible also, but if I could only choose one, it would be the brunch....YUM! I swear I'd do it every day if I could!

As far as spa treatments, we have done the couples massage...very nice but I feel like I can get just as good or better at home for less $. One thing DH and I did last time that we will definitely do again is the Rainforest Room. I probably will only do it on days at sea, when I like to sun on the deck and then when I get too hot, hop on down to the spa and cool off in those fantastic scented showers! LOVE IT!

Count me in on the 3 pm meet at the Mickey Pool, and I'm all about Margarita Monday.

Scrapperjill: glad you liked the Scrapperjill Posse label...it seems to fit. Although if you'd like to be a little more Hollywod and a little less Hip Hop, you could go with the Scrapperjill Entourage. I personally like the Posse better :thumbsup2

Eva: Hot stone massage is awesome!!! I've never had it on the Disney cruise, but I did have one at a resort in the NC mountains. It was winter and very cold out, so while DH and his cousin went snowboarding, his wife and I got massages. Those stones felt so good!

Congrats too on 5 weeks smoke free!!!!:cheer2: I wish I could get DH to do it!

Eva do you have publisher on your computer? the avery badge is done in publisher.

last cruise i made a smaller iron on for a polo top instead of a tshirt. ironed it on over/front of shoulder.

Yep, I have Publisher. Thanks again Marsha.

Three(Four)Smiths, you are right about the brunch at Palo. But we don't usually like eating so much at one time, especially in the middle of the day. On our last cruise we did the brunch and I just couldn't help myself and ate everything in sight. Boy, did I pay for it all day. The whole group acted like beached whales all afternoon. So I guess we will stick to dinner. Buffet style meals lead me to over, over, over-indulge.

Thanks for the response on the hot stone massage. It is sounding better and better all the time. Since I have never had a massage, I'm sure I will think it is wonderful. I have nothing to compare it to.

I guess when I'm on vacation I am automatically in "overindulgence" mode, even though I know I will pay for it later:sick: I guess it's the instant gratification part of my brain taking over. Okay, actually I'm just a glutton:rotfl:

I used to be the queen of over eating. But after so much suffering, I learned my lesson. Took me over 40 years though. And I still find myself doing it from time to time. Now if only I could learn that lesson about alcoholic beverages while on vacation. :rotfl:
