September 2024 Check In Thread

We have Oogie Boogie tickets for Sep 29. Planning to do DL on Saturday. Sleep in Sunday, then head to the party. Halloween is my favorite- so excited to visit DL for the first time in the fall!

So far staying at Hojo, but thinking of changing to Paradise Pier.

September will be here before we know it!

Dining reservations are not like WDW. You will need to get on each morning for each day of your trip. Not all reservations go really fast. The hardest are Trader Sam's, Blue Bayou and Carthay Circle.
For most others you won't need to be on right at 6am pacific time.
Yup I figured that out after asking on here, such a pain compared to Disney World.

Epic fail for day 1 of reservations. Set my alarm last night, woke up 10 min before my alarm was set to go off, decided I’ll just doze until the alarm. Turns out I set it for PM instead of AM and woke up too late to get what I wanted, Trying again tomorrow with my update alarm.

What are you trying to get? It looks like, if you are flexible with timing, most restaurants have openings. I see openings for Oga's, Napa Rose, Lamplight, Carthay Circle and Blue Bayou. Keep checking, especially as it gets closer because people hold multiple reservations and cancel once they make their decision.

Oh I do know to keep checking and set alerts, it was just funny how I planned ahead and then failed. Hoping to snag Trader Sam’s for our arrival day, but if not we’ll just do a walk up. Staying onsite so no big deal.

We will be there 9/27-9/30 staying at Camelot Inn. We’re going to the parks Saturday then OBB Sunday. Hoping it’s not miserably hot!

I will be there the week of 9/22. There are a couple of days at the end of the week when I have to be onsite at work, but the rest of the time, I am on a much-needed solo trip. 🥳🥳🥳

With all my obsessive planning over the last few months, how did I not know I planned our trip for 1/2 Marathon weekend?
It's been a month of Sundays since I ran a RunDisney event at DLR but as far as I remember there was little to no effect on the parks that day. (ie they open on time, etc...) Is that still the case?

Tough to say since we only have one weekend since the races came back to compare with and that race happened over a holiday weekend (MLK in January) but I didn't feel like the parks were any busier than I expected. The annoying thing was going through security on Saturday and Sunday since regular run finishers going back to on-site hotels were mixing with regular park attendees. Also the parks did open later on Sunday but only by an hour.

And now Disney is selling $69 passes to SoCal residents good for all of September. I expect that will drastically increase the number of people in the parks.

We will be there 9/9 - 9/16. This is only our 2nd time at DL, but our first visit was only 2 days and we stayed off site. This time we are staying at DLR using our DVC points. Was able to get Oogie Boogie tickets and all of the dining reservations we wanted. The only thing I am missing is WOC, but still haven't seen anything for that week.

Trying to figure out what kind of clothing to pack...any suggestions? Seems it will be fairly warm during the day, but wasn't sure if I needed to pack pants or light jackets for the evening.

Just noticed WOC packages are available for race weekend (Sept 5-8). I don’t recall seeing them prior to today, but I could be wrong.
