September 2015 - Checkin Thread

I had to make myself a spreadsheet! Between hours that are all over the place and different meal reservations I was getting so confused. :crazy2:

Here's our goodies!! So excited and it makes the trip all the more real to me now!!

UPS is en route to drop off my package. I assume that includes park tickets, lanyard, etc. So exciting!

On a side note I just threw my back out with less than three weeks to go - yuck!! Do any of you seasoned veterans know about transportation from the gate to DLH? It probably won't be an issue that far out, but I am a bit concerned that if my 4 year old is exhausted at the end of a long day, carrying him back to the hotel could be a problem if I'm not back to 100% by then.

We bought jogging strollers, the large 3-wheel kind when we took two of our younger grand-kids a few years ago, they were 3.5 and 5 at the time, and the strollers were well worth the money! I think I got them on sale at Babies-R-Us for about $100 each. If you are staying at the DLH, it is a bit of a hike for a 4 year old. The monorail station will put you a lot closer.

Thanks! I originally wanted to limit just how much I was bringing on the plane and didn't want to bring a stroller but I have been reconsidering the last few days since I threw out my back. I think somebody said it's almost a half mile walk from DLH to the park gate; that's a lot for a 4 year old, even a well rested one!

Here's our 4 yr old (at the time) granddaughter on my shoulders heading back to DLH for an afternoon nap in 2009! Boy did I wish we had a stroller! We did rent one in the park, but you can't take it to DLH.

We bought the strollers for our 2013 trip where we brought 2 of our other grandkids (and our daughter) for their first trip. We didn't have to fly though, just drove from AZ. If you do bring strollers be sure to "personalize" them so they are easy to find at the attraction stroller parking areas. We put pirate flags and red luggage streamers on ours. And when you find your stroller isn't in the same place you left it, don't worry, it's just the stroller faeries :tink:moving the strollers around to keep the stroller parking areas efficiently run.:mickeyjum

Any idea why, on Sunday 9/20, DL opens an hour after DCA? (DL opens at 9:00 and DCA normal opening is at 8:00, with 7:00 EMH). The Sundays before (9/13) and after (9/27) both parks open at 8:00.

Howdy folks! We are checking in! My mom, my DS, and I will headed to DL on the 26th to the 1st. We are normally at WDW for spring break, but decided to head to DL for the Diamond celebration. We did to the ABD Backstage in 2014. We are looking forward to doing the parks on our own terms. Getting really excited!

I was wondering the same thing...

Oooh! This was all your travel docs?! Oh boy! I love the luggage tags! Those are AWESOME!

Yes! Aren't they adorable? The last time we did a package which was years ago the tags weren't nearly as cute. 10 days today!

So, what all was included? Luggage tags, park tickets? And what are the other things? My TA is receiving these things and will be handing them off to hubby any day now...

The top one was my AP, then my daughters hoppers, meal vouchers and the luggage tags. We also have a voucher for a ride photo, our lanyards and pins, and an ESPN voucher for a game card and a cheese burger at a discount that we didn't put in the photo.

Lots of goodies!!

Here now. Having a great time, though the past couple hours have been filled with meltdowns from my 6 year old... sigh. Luckily it's a non-park day for us.

Any questions?

OH, here's just a random tip: If Indy's wait is less than about 30 minutes, don't bother getting a Fastpass. You LITERALLY get no benefit from it. I felt kinda cheated.
