Not really related to our September trip, but still Disney, the kids were very excited today when 4 tickets to Disney On Ice turned up in the mail courtesy of a competition in the local paper. We've been a few times before but I said no to buying tickets this year due to saving for the real thing, but happy to have tickets for free. My husband will be taking the kids as I'll be working (he is not overly thrilled but he already has the day off), just have to make sure he doesn't blow too much money on overpriced merchandise and food, I'd rather spend the money on merchandise and food at DL! (which I think is much better priced than the ripoffs I've seen at the other Disney on Ice shows).

DS asked if we could go and I said we couldn't afford it (having not told him at that stage about our trip), congratulations on winning tickets

Still haven't told DS about the cruise, we're just going to rock up and get on the boat

52 Sleeps for us until we go to Sydney for my brothers "9 weeks, of course we can do it" wedding. Got the airfares sorted and little bro is supposed to be sorting out accomodation...

I think it's 83 days before we go to LA. I lost count a bit, the kids are fighting over Duplo.

And yes we still have no hire car. Thanks to DH the slacker. It's the one thing he has to sort out and I'm putting my foot down that he has to do it.

I have just paid for my car hire today i paid the deposit a few weeks ago. Luckily i had a saved quote that they used because the car hire had gone up $500 from when i first started looking though mine is a one way rental.

Wow your brother is still going ahead with that plan for your DH to get the car hire done.

WAMUMOF4 - good thing you saved the quote. DH has been 'working' on the hire today and discovered all the pricing has gone up and is trying to blame me! Huh?? I told him from and to when we needed it about six months ago and have reminded/nagged him constantly. Honestly they should have a Smilie with it banging its head on a wall.

WAMUMOF4, thanks for asking about our trips. Next month we are going down to Cardrona, Wanaka (lower Sth Island) for 1 weeks skiing. Then in Jan13 we have a 1 week beach/kayak holiday in Golden Bay (top of Sth Island). And in Mar13 we are going to Melbourne for the 4 nights for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. None of them compare in excitement value to our USA trips though ( well for me anyway, DH may beg to differ when it comes to Formula One V's anything else!).

Your trip sounds amazing. Our Sep/Oct13 trip will be for 1 month, but that is the absolute max I can get away from work, and only because it will be a special occasion (20 yr aniversary working for Air NZ).

awesome...which airline????I am trying to get enough ANZ airpoints to upgrade on way home for both of us......trying hard but with a spend of $160 per point its taking forever...where if i was in NZ I could buy the points $=$...crazy!

That sounds great I am trying decide if we will go skiing next year in NZ, Japan or USA at this stage it think it will all come down to $$ DS15 is telling us he now doesn't want a trip next year he wants us to use the money for a house deposit but i know if he doesn't get to go away for his 16th birthday we will hear about it in the years to come
Each mini trip you take is one closer to your big one i think its great you have them to include in your countdown.

Now I gotta stop spending money, also bought the house a present an oversized pocket watch look clock, it's lovely, and it was on SALE therefore I had to buy it...
