Hi,

I know this is a little 'how long is a piece of string' but do you think sept 16th to 30th at POR with upgraded DDP and tickets and virgin flights economy for 2 adults is good for £3248?

I'm trying to decide whether to hold on for DIY or book this and know it's sorted....

Any advice would be appreciated :)

Thank you:goodvibes

I'm sure the 'trip comparison experts' ;) will be along soon to comment, I just thought I'd say that I think that's reasonable.

We're going September 2012 too, but a week earlier than you, and got AKL + free DDP + Virgin economy direct flights from Glasgow + park tickets for 2 adults for near enough £4,500. It's our honeymoon, and we're saving up for it, so I didn't mind that price tag. (Yes, there are much cheaper ways to go, but this one is special :thumbsup2 )

Just looked at Complete Orlando to get a price without flights

£2,088, leaves £1160 for your flights, not cheap but not expensive at £580pp.
Have you had a quote for OKW or SSR instead? includes the regular DDP, larger room and cheaper, same dates would be £2,032 again with CO.

If its exactly what you want then I would book at that price, you could possibly save with DIY but its not going to be a lot IMO.

I personally think thats a good price especially if it is the hotel of your choice and your food and your park tickets and your flights!

Id say go for it and then dont look again at prices hahaha!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the responses:cutie:

I thought about SSR or OKW and the only thing that is holding me back is if we are so tried one night we can just eat at the food court and I know my DBF would not be so happy with the smaller food court, plus we love staying and POR, the only other resort we thou about was Yc/BC *** of the proximity to epcot but that is definatley out of our price range.

I'm going to consult with DBF tonight and see what he thinks, part of me is inclined to book though, just so it's final! :cool1:

If the food court is an issue then go for PO, by the end of August we will have stayed at OKW 54 days, total times eaten there 1 meal at Olivias. Its not somewhere we would choose to eat but its only 2-3 mins round to PO in the car for us, food has no say in where we stay.

We've booked DIY and have 14 nights POFQ with upgraded DDP and 14 day tickets for £2145 and then flights on top. We looked at the OKW/SSR deal but I can't walk far/stand long and POFQ is the perfect size..and I like the foodcourt better :)

Seems like a good price to me :D

Seems like a good price to me. Does it include car hire and is that booking directly with Virgin Holidays? If you are Frequent Virgins or Flying Club members you get a 10% discount as apposed to the current 5% online one.

That's with TC Sig, we are restricted by going on a Sunday *** we have a cruise booked and those dates tie up to be a Sunday and it's cheaper to fly on a Sunday than add an extra day.

No car hire but we are both under 25 and can't warrant the extra expense for being young, plus we are used to Disney transport so don't mind :cutie:

We stayed at ssr on our last two trips I agree the food court isn't any thing to get excited about but having th kitchentte was good we bought pop tarts bread cereals for breakfast and ham to have sandwiches for lunch if we were in the room just an idea to take Andre bits to fill a cupboard in case you are tired and are a bit peckish!

The price is from TC Sig as a package. I did get quoted 3600 but haggled it down. I still haven't booked though *** I've been crazy with exams. Hopefully I can still find a good price. :)

Hi Tinkerpea - we're currently pricing for 2012 too, wondering whether to DIY as we have done in the past or to book now and know what we've got to pay up front. Anyway, i've used a company called Charter Travel who I read about on another thread on the Dis boards, who use VA flights but are cheaper than VH on their package quotes, maybe that will be of use to you? :)

Its just a matter of searching every site that sells flights or Hotels. Lots of time and patience, prices go up and down, you just need to book when you are happy with price.
For Disney hotels with free dining the 2 main ones are Disney.co.uk & Complete Orlando. For flights a good start are Kayak & Travelsupermarket.
No easy way unless you book a package but then you usually pay a premium for their service compared to DIY.
