September 2012 code watch!

Same here! Our pin code for the fall time usually arrives towards the end of September. We have stayed at the Poly twice with 40% off and I am anxiously waiting for the pin code to arrive!!! I have said if we do not get it we will not go and may just take a Disney Cruise but I think I would rather go back to WDW!

I'm really hoping for free dining - I usually stay in a value and then pay the upgrade from the Quick-Service plan to the MYW with dining package...my only question is, with 2 adults, is that the best option, or should I be hoping for a 30% room pin instead?

How much is it to upgrade to the table service?

I believe its about 16 per person this year...Its the cost difference between the QS plan and the normal dining plan

That was me! I called and they gave me the discount. You have to ask if there are any pins or discounts for your names, not promotions. Sometimes they just randomly choose who gets one. But out of the 3 times I called to check, twice I had one! So I would try again before you book with no promotion. With that said, I think sometime in April FB will be out and we will be switching over anyway :)

I would love Fd AND a 35% off a deluxe or whatever it is since I will be making two reservations for Sept!

I am not sure how they do it either!! We usually don't get our pin code in the mail for the fall time until towards the end of January. I had read before that they send them out based on last name. I am also really hoping I get one. We used the pin code the past 2 years for the 1st week in September and received 40% off the deluxe so it's definitely a good deal!

I think it really depends on what places you like to eat at and how much you eat. My husband and I had looked into getting on the dining plan but after looking at all the meals and snacks it includes we realized we would not eat all that was included. We eat more at the sit down places and we usually do not get an appetizer and dessert. I think it's all just a matter of what you prefer but we prefer getting the room discount.

I believe Mitchell is getting the Regular Dining Plan either way, so he is asking if they save more by getting the FD QS plan and paying to upgrade or if they get a 30% room discount and pay for the Dining Plan.

I haven't done the math so I can't say which is better for 2 adults, but if staying in a Value you may be more likely to see a 20-25% discount rather than 30%.

I am really wanting to book so bad just to make it official!!! I have NO patience lol! Right now we are waiting for JetBlue to come out with their prices so we can book our trip. Then, we will book the hotel and hope/pray for free dining some more! As long as I am ALL booked by March 15th (the date I can book my reservations for dining), I will be happy!!!!!

I completely understand!!!!! I'm waiting for the pin code to come in the mail!!! It usually get's here the last week of January so I am "patiently" waiting!

If you stay at a value resort, the pin code is for 25% off. Now, if you want a 30% pin code, you can stay at a moderate resort. My husband and I had stayed at All Star Movies in '08 and Caribbean in '09 and we thought the Caribbean was much better and worth the additional cost. It really just depends on what your looking for. When my husband and I are down there, we typically only eat 2 meals so for us, we would much rather use the discount towards the room and stay at a nicer resort.

We are booked for Sept 23-29 at Coronado w/ a CM discount of 40%. So, if FD happens in Sept. is it cheaper to get the 40% off the resort only and pay for the dining plan or not to use the CM discount and get free dining? Im not sure how to figure this one out. Guess I'll have to wait and see what happens.

Well you just need to find the price of the room for the week of the stay times it by the number of nights you are staying. Take that and times by .40. That's your discount .

Find the meal plan cost for your stay prob $51 something and $15 something for kids and add up the cost for your family for one day times that by number of nights you are staying and if that number is greater than the room discount - then do free dining.

Remember with free dining you will pay rack rate on your room.

Dpending on your party the fd will probably be the better deal - if you are planning on doing meal plan anyway.

We are trying to squeeze in a trip Aug 30th-Sept 3. Is 4nights/5days the minimum?

Also - Does anyone know if they add on the end of August into the free dining?

Yes, I believe it is 4 night minimum. We have gotten a pin code the past 2 years and are STILL waiting for the one for this year! :sad2:

That all depends. Here is an example. My husband and I stayed at the Poly for the past 2 years with the 40% off the room. We had gone during the 1st week in September and typically stay for about 8 days so even though it's considered low season, the rooms during the week are still $405/night and $435/night for Friday and Saturday night. We ended up saving more than if we paid full price for the room and got the free dining. So, it all depends on which resort you stay at and how many people you are feeding. I would say you're probably better off staying with the 40% of the room.

Thanks for the help on this one. Still waiting to see if any free dining will be offered for Sept. then I'll run the numbers and decide.

Received a Game On PIN yesterday for 30% off select Resorts for stays most Sunday-Thursday nights 9/1-9/27. The Poly, where we are staying, was not on the card, but it worked for the Poly when my TA tried!! Art of Animation was not included in the value resort options. Free dining will save us the most (or a rare 40% off PIN), but I am not going to be greedy....30% is still a great deal!!

Southwest opens their booking window through the end of September so I am hoping to book my airfare tomorrow WOOHOO!!!!!!!! I am so excited....we'll see though. If they come in too high, then we'll wait on JetBlue. BUT if we book Southwest tomorrow, then I plan on calling WDW to check again if I have any pins. Maybe I will be lucky!

How do you get pin codes? I received one in the mail yesterday for 20% off select resort hotels for 9/1/12 - 9/27/12. How do you get better deals like the 30 or 40% off or free dining? Could there still be a chance for a better deal?

How did you find out that SW is opening their September window. :cool1::cool1:

We just got the same pin!!!! I have never gotten one before so I'm happy bout that... Still hoping for free dining but at least its not full price..

Now if I would just get that tax check so I can at least make the deposit...

I really want to book our trip. But, I can't. If there's no free dining, we can't go. I'm trying to figure out a way we might be able to do it if we don't get fd. If anyone can make some suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. :goodvibes Definately staying at Pop. We usually go for 2 to 3 weeks., I know it seems like a long time, but we're from Canada and it is our one and only vacation each year.
