September 2011 - We are going to Disney World {THIS MONTH}! (Third Thread)

FYI for all window decorators:

This is what I found in Joanne this week. They were $4.99 for the carboard cutouts (they are really thick and will tape nicely to the window) and $2.99 for the minnie and mickie with the fireworks.
(I made the Green Mickey head with cardstock on sale $.49)-They also had a variety of Halloween clings and Jelly Clings (its too soon for halloween-MNSSHP statrts after we leave )
Anyway...I am going to tape them to my window and hang colored Xmas lights around it. I bought the no mess hooks there too- $3.99 for 3 and they are having a sale through tomorrow. Everything cost a total of $9.14
Sorry about the pic quality-I was in a rush. gotta get everything put away and packed.
I will post pix for the finished product when I'm there!

Very cute! I hope you guys have a wonderful trip by yourselves. Our 10 year anniversary is next year. We are still debating what to do. Our honeymoon was to Disney so we thought we might go back for our 10th as well. You will ave to let me know how you enjoyed it minus kids.

Hubby & I take off tomorrow morning, bright and early!! Cant believe we will be at WDW by 10am!! Crazy!! Spent the day making sure everything is packed, but im sure we will forget something. I make check lists for packing and for the house and i still forget something. Got our Halloween costumes packed, almost forgot them!
If anyone has something they forget to bring with them, let me know so i can double check for myself!
12 hours til we will be at the airport taking off for Orlando!!!! The worst part of the trip for me, not a good flyer:sad2:
Hope to see ya real soon DISer's

We are all sneezing too and my son's asthma has been really bad lately. Lots of coughing and difficulty breathing, but we all have really bad ragweed allergies.

Hope everyone feels better soon!

Both of our DDs are asthmatic, and everyone in the house has awful allergies. We're taking vitamins, and a lot of Zyrtec, and making sure the inhalers are close at hand. We have a battery operated nebulizer than we're taking to the parks JIC, but I'm praying not to use it!:goodvibes I hope your DS finds today full of easier breaths!

For any of you who will be in the parks at the same time we will, I ought to be super easy to spot carrying this!:rotfl: I have my little September pins on it, but they don't stand out because the colors are the same as the backpack! I just realized that we'll be in the teens tomorrow on our countdown calendar, winning!:dance3::dance3:

Why not alternate years? One with one without? I am sure she would understand that you would like to go as your small family sometime. To offset the hurt maybe if you go to wdw alone, you two can spring for a small weekend trip with your MIL that year , to show your appreciation and that you value the time together?

I am sure you will have a wonderful time. I keep reading about ILs that foot the bill. Still waiting for my fairy godmother-in-law :rotfl:

I know. We've been 3 times in as many years and it's always been with my mother in law and father in law. So I think it's just kind of the expectation that all trips will be like that.

We do go to florida to visit them at least twice a year and they come to visit here a couple of times a year. but they are planning on moving up here after FIL retires so I'm sure once that happens the pressure to always come along on the disney trips will ease up a bit.

Ugh trust me been there done that-and this is why we say no to any in laws offering any trip! Its a great pitch-"we'll pay for everything" means "no we will pay for everything (meaning my family). Constantly having it over our heads-getting "the look" when we order something expensive...it never ends. Its great to not have to pay when family offers, but then you get this feeling. And guilt stinks. Its so freeing to just go on your own. There is NOTHING wrong with wanting alone family vacations! In fact you deserve one. Plan another trip for next year or in 2 years, and if it comes up-be bluntly honest. Just say: We'd like to do 1 trip alone before the kids get too old. Simple. No need to explain yourself.

Love your window decorations!! We'll be decorating our window too, Haloween themed ! Can't wait to see a pic of it up on your window!

LOVE the window decorations!!! I'm working on ours tonight. :goodvibes I'm really excited to walk around Pop and other resorts to see what people do with their windows. I'm going with a Mickey & Friends theme, too.

YAY!!! I hope you have a very magical vacation with lots of pixie dust!!! We will be there on Wednesday! :cloud9:

Thanks today was better for him. He was jumping around more today and was less out of breath. We pack two inhalers with us, plus Zyrtec. I hope your little ones are good too and don't have to use the nebulizer.

Your bag is very cute. Can't believe we are all so close.

Awww, yay, I'm glad he's feeling some better! :yay: Thanks for the backpack love; my BFFs got it for me specifically for Disney, and the monogram is oh so fitting!:rotfl2: We haven't had to use the nebulizer for a long time (knocking on wood very, very hard) but I'd rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it.

At the risk of being flamed, I have got to ask a question that no one on the DISboards seems to speak.... what the heck is so special about Toy Story Mania? I see on the Lines app that there is a massive wait for this ride every day, and all of the FPs are normally gone by noon. But, when I watched the YouTube ride video, I just kind of went, Is that it? The cue looks more interesting than the ride to me! Is it really good enough to send everyone at RD running for the back of the parK?:confused3

Thanks... it means a lot just to have people who will listen and understand :)

I was thinking about that idea. doing a trip with them and then also doing one ourselves as long as hubby is down for two trips :) I think that will probably be our best bet. then maybe no one will feel left out and we'll also get our small family trip.

Not sure how to reply.....seeing as we ARE the in-laws that are paying for our 3 DS and family (9) total...and after reading this hoping or praying that my DIL do not feel the same way...sorry...but we are doing this as a family...and it never occured to me that they might resent us...i hope not...

we leave in 3 days...I will let you know how it turns out...that being said...I would have given anything to go to disney with my in-laws...

relax and enjoy your trip...:)

We never stand in line for anything more than 45 minutes. I just can't do it with two little ones. That being said, my kids LOVE TSM. We love the challenge of competing against each other and we love the 3D part and spinning around. I don't think it's worth a 115 minute wait like I've seen in the summer months, but I do make a point of riding it each time we go.

:rotfl: I have been thinking the same thing-it looks like a souped up Space Ranger Spin! And while I liked it, I wouldn't brave hordes of people just to do it. We'll be at DHS at RD, but I don't think we'll be headed that way right away. Originally that was the plan, but I didn't realize there would be a line to get FP, which is what I've been hearing. We'll probably do Star Tours first, then head over after the line clears out a little bit for FP. I'm okay with a later return time! :lmao:

I just have to share this, though, I know you all will understand: A friend of mine just got done moving and found her DS11's baby clothes. She dropped them off to me for DS2 in case I could use any of it. (He is still in 12-18mos clothing.) And I found the perfect outfit for AK! It looks like it hasn't even been worn! It's actually Disney brand, and although you can't see it in this pic, the tag next to the pocket on the shirt says "It's a small world after all"

So excited! :cool1:

Oh, wow, I love it! :love:That's PERFECT for AK! And I'm with you, I think we're going to be headed to RnR first. We'll be in DHS a full day, so I'm thinking we're going to FP it later on after RnR and ToT.

I thought the same, but TSM is more fun than Buzz in MK. In Buzz you just keep trying to hit targets. In TSM yes you are hitting targets, but you may be throwing darts in one scene, hoops in another etc.

Major SPOILER ALERT! DO NOT OPEN the following link unless you want to see the MK Fall decorations before you get there.

The reason I love to check out sites like this and HGTV specials is that it helps me notice things that I would have otherwise missed. The colours are so opulent, it will make for some fantastic photo-ops!!!!

I love this! Fall is my favorite time of year, and the rich decoration colors are normally why. Thanks for sharing, Marblies!

great outfit lemonsours :)

So just when I came to terms with not going to MNSSHP DH says he is going to make it happen lol It's funny that I can plan a vacation for an entire year and still be changing things last minute... :upsidedow

Eeek! Last minute :yay: that means our vacation is close :woohoo:
