September 2011 - We are going to Disney World {THIS MONTH}! (Third Thread)

September DISers I need some help! As our vacation draws closer I find that I've had SOOO much going on that I'm actually out of the Disney spirit. We're almost two weeks away and I actually don't feel excited anymore. :sad2:

I guess when we moved to the cities and that whole struggle I was so overwhelmed. Then the new job began and I'm even more overwhelmed by trying to adjust. Things are starting to get better and I'm getting more used to my lifestyle down here (it's only been a week :scared1:) but I'm afraid I've lost the Disney spark. What shall I do?!

I wouldn't worry about it. I do this for every vacation. I get so involved with planning it and I get so excited but right before I go I tell everyone "ughh I know this sounds crazy but I don't even want to go anymore" :rotfl: finally a friend pointed it out to me, she was like I don't know if you realize this but you do this every vacation!

I feel like I should just be a travel agent because my favorite part is planning it.

Anywho once I actually get to where ever (Las Vegas, NYC, Europe, etc) I have a great time but yeah I wouldn't stress, once you get there you'll get all excited again.

Go to youtube and watch a video on the disney parks site. :lovestruc

About the MNSSHP question. We went last time and loved it, but... we are still waiting for a 500 check in the mail and without it we are not going. At first I was really bummed, but then I had to evaluate. What is the best part? We left the parade early, had a craptastic spot for fireworks, the kids didn't like the candy and I am never going to wait in line for hours for the rare characters. We did however LOVE the 626 dance party. I talked to my dd-12 about it. She said it was nice but when I told her what it cost she said "Well, it really isn't worth THAT much mom, geeze!" So as of now we aren't going but if the check comes I am buying the tickets :) So glad I have free wifi at the condo in case I need to order them the week of :)

I went through this a couple of weeks ago, and went to watching YouTube ride videos. That's all it takes to get me back on track!:rotfl2:

If you look at my ticker, it states the truth, LOL. We had pushed our trip back a month to October, changed resorts 3 times, then my husband decided to come with us, took the wrong leave dates, so I moved our trip up to our original Sept. dates and changed resorts another 3 times. Yeah, I'm one of those people....

LOL I'm glad you were still able to get what you wanted!!!!!! It keeps things exciting!

I did some Disney shopping today!!! I figured with the heat we'll be hot and sticky so we need probably 2 shirts a day (I don't do laundry on vacation!) There were soooo many good deals out there. I bought a Ralph Lauren bikini, marked $84 for $2!!!!!! I also got a few really nice shirts for $2 and $3. I live in Canada but cross the border at Bufallo for the deals!!!!

The youtube video option did work a bit. I'm working on some more planning things tonight which should also help. I do have our ADRs finalized:

Sat 9/17 - Via Napoli, 7pm
Sun 9/18 - Coral Reef, 6:15pm
Mon 9/19 - Nine Dragons, 6:15pm
Tues 9/20 - Crystal Palace, 8:25am
Tues 9/20 - Liberty Tree Tavern, 6:45pm
Thurs 9/22 - Sci Fi Drive In, 5:15pm
Fri 9/23 - 50's Prime Time, 6:30pm

10 days till we arrive in Disney World, 9 days until we drive to Chicago, and 8 days until my vacation starts, 7 days until a work trip that gives me a nice change of pace so its almost not like work :)

We leave in 11 days!! But sounds like you have quite a journey till you get to the world! Hope it's wonderful!

Yet another question, is MNSSHP really worth it? Our kids are 3, 4, 7 and 9. It'll cost us $320 on top of our already expensive 10 day vacation to purchase tickets. Is it worth that much money in your opinion? Seems like a lot of money just to see characters dressed up and see a Halloween themed parade and fireworks.

IMO it is soooo worth it. Halloween is our favorite holiday. We always watch the 2 parades, and we love the fireworks. We dress up and do some trick and treating. But the best part for us is the low crowds, and no waits for the attractions.:wizard:

Hope this helps.

Found some great stuff at Wal-Mart tonight for our trip! They had small notebooks on clearance (school supply stuff), and I bought an adorable one for $1.50. It even has some plastic inserts in it to put little momentos in. (I'm going to try really hard to journal during my trip...or at least on the way home!) Bought retractable sharpies for autographs. Picked up an adorable little sticker/activity type booklet in the party section for $3. I picked Mickey, but they had Toy Story, Fairies, and Princesses too. Lots of repositionable stickers and little scenes to decorate with the the stickers--perfect for the plane ride!

And, my best find....Mickey bandaids! So cute!!
