I was up last night re-working the idea of changing our dates so that we could be there for MNSSHP on the 13th. I'm not sure if I will do it or not, but I totally replanned (alternate plan) our trip and park dates and such just in case I can do it. I just don't know about the cost since we were gonna stay at WL on 40% off pin code and now that offer has expired. Don't know if they would extend us 2 more nights on that offer since we already have the 11th booked at that rate or not. But then there is still the issue of DD-6 missing 2 extra days of 1st grade and what to do about dining plan. Grrr....:surfweb:
Oh, and that little smiley surfing the web and drinking what appears to be coffee, is really supposed to be me drinking my diet dew. Why isn't there a smiley for that?! hehe

Hi Amy,

I'll put you down as a maybe for the 13th! :goodvibes
MNSSHP is so much fun... I hope you can re-work your plans to fit it in! I know what you mean about missing school...my two will miss 6 days of school, my oldest will be in 3rd grade and my youngest will be starting Kindergarten in the Fall. Hope it all works out for you :wizard:

I'm right there with ya! I had 1 online class last semester and 2 this semester. I plan to take at least 1 again in the Fall too. I have the Verizon iPhone, so I can use the hotspot to tether my laptop to my iphone. I did that the last few trips with my Blackberry as well. Worked like a charm! I haven't taken any online classes where I've had vacations planned yet, so this will be a first for me. I'm pretty OCD about getting my posts in on the discussion boards and keeping up with all the work, so this could get interesting for me being gone 10 days in Sept. Hoping the syllabus allows for me to not pay as much attention during the time we are gone. I really wanted to take our vacation in the summer before classes started again, but the prices for the Disney cruise are just INSANE in the summer, so that's why I booked for Sept. :upsidedow

Speaking of classes, I should REALLY be on the discussion boards for those, and not on the DIS right now! Ha!

Its great to know I"m not the only one dealing with school! I have been out of college for almost 5 years now, and am sorta nervous. I'm hoping my professor will be understand or there is some leeway in the syllabus as far as me being gone or that I can do some of the work in advance! I really realy don't want to have to do school or work of any kind on my trip! Lol. I have a feeling thats going to happen to me a lot (being on the DIS when I should be doing school!)

I've been thinking about costumes. I asked my oldest DD what she wanted to go as and she said a snake (??). She must've seen a snake at the zoo yesterday and had it on her mind, or something.

I have an Alice costume for my youngest DD. I was thinking that'd be a nice family theme. I found a cool DIY Cheshire Cat costume that my oldest DD could have (or, in keeping with her snake idea, she could perhaps be the caterpillar ), then my DH and I could be Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. Like the ones from the Tim Burton movie, so all we'd need is striped shirts, black shorts and suspenders, maybe.

I saw a cute bee costume online for my oldest DD, so was thinking another idea would be she could go as that, youngest DD and I could be flowers, and my DH could wear khaki shorts and a gardeners' tool belt with some tools and gardening gloves?

Or perhaps to really simplify it, youngest DD could be Alice, I could buy oldest DD a Cleopatra costume and get her a big rubber snake to carry on her shoulders. :)

CUTE COSTUME IDEAS! I love the gardener, flower, and bees idea! You might able to quickly change the gardener into a zoo keeper, then your daughter could still be a snake, and you and your other daughter could dress up as animals too!

Seriously?! My mom is a NICU RN, but she's working at Mercy St. John's in St. Louis now. She used to work OB/NICU at our local hospital and go to OSF on a regular basis to meet with the NICU staff there to organize the transports of the NICU babies at OSF back to our local hospitals (when the babies are strong enough for transfer). She would ride the ambulance with me (or whomever else was on duty at the time, lol) to go down there to bring the babies back. I miss doing those transfers with her.

You were up here for the NKOTB concert?! Haha!! I was at that concert with my daughter, her friend, my neice, her friend, and my step-sister from Springfield! NKOTB is going to be in St. Louis in July and my father has already purchased tickets for my daughter and niece to go to that one too. I will be skipping that one! ;)

I've been checking into Allegiant out of Rockford as well, but what deters me is the fact that they fly into Orlando Sanford airport and not MCO. So, that totally screws up any plans to use Magical Express, and the prices I've gotten for transfers from Sanford to WDW resorts is kinda pricey, so not really saving us any $$ in the end. It's too bad because Allegiant has some good prices, but not once other factors are added in: gas to Rockford, parking, and then transfers to/from WDW and Sanford. Boo!!

I am going to try to swing NKOTBSB in Chicago in May, yeah for them! They will have a blast! I hear ya on Allegiant; the ME is almost a deal breaker with an 18 mo. old but if the price was right.... We will see. I have AirFarewatchdog keepin an eye out for me.;)

My next step in planning will be trying to learn how to use my sewing machine so I can make the girls some matching clothes. I'll also keep a look out at Gymboree and Crazy 8 for coordinating outfits for the trip. I try to buy a little at a time and use Gymbucks and Crazy Cash to get more for my money. 6 months should be enough to get some good stuff....I hope.

You should try making pillowcase shirt/dresses. Super easy, free patterns online, and can be made using Disney Fabric. :)

or at JoAnn's they have Mock Smock Cotton Prints in Princess prints it is basically fabric gathered at the top with elastic. Sew two ends together add some staps and you have the cutest sundresses ever.

Yay for September  We'll be in the "World" from the 16th - 24th - first time staying at The GF :lovestruc

I am here Michelle:yay: Those buttons are a really neat idea! We will be there from Sept. 24th through Oct 1st at POP. Michelle is our travel agent and is making sure our trip goes as planned. Keep up the good work Michelle:laughing:

:welcome: I have added both of you to the first page! :dance3:

Oh yeah, I forgot about the "SB" in NKOTBSB! I keep teasing my daughter about how they don't know how to probably make an acronym. :teacher: I say it should be NKOTBBSB and she just rolls her eyes at me. I love teasing her.

I've never looked into airfarewatchdog?! Gonna have to check it out!

:teacher: I had been out of college for 11 years when I decided to go back to school last Fall. It's not easy to fit it in, but I'm managing. It's all been online classes so far.....I'm saving the ones where I actually have to show up in person until last! :rotfl: I hope I can figure out a way to avoid my school work the 10 days we are at WDW/cruise too. I have a feeling I might have to log in a few times though.

Good morning!

Wow, look at all the Iowa connections! I'm not from Iowa, but all dh family is. They are mostly in Indianola, Iowa City and Ankeny. We used to visit much more than we do now, my in laws moved to Michigan when our oldest son was born.

It's 6:45am here and I'm waiting with much anticipation to see what ADRs my TA was able to get. I keep checking my e-mail, even though I'm not likely to receive it until 9 or 10am.

On the bright side, I woke up to NO SNOW! On the downside, darn forecast still insists it's coming... At least only 5 cm or so.

I wish there was a way to do FD and the 40% off the room LOL

Don't we all! :goodvibes

Lucky! NYC has a nice dusting and it's still coming down. This is not what I wanted to see. :sad2:

Our share of this snow storm is suppose to be starting anytime now. 3-6 inches with higher elevations (Me) getting the 6 inches. When I got up I got the dog leash and told her to hurry up so we could beat the snow :rotfl:

After this winter 3-6" is a dusting ;)

Trying to figure out ideas for a Tangled night on our countdown party. We usually do them the 23rd but I am going to have a tooth pulled so I will be in no mood, and we pick up Tangled the 29th anyway so I am just postponing it. Any ideas?

I'm in lower Michigan and we escaped the storm for the most part. We did get some sleet and lots of rain, but as of right now it isn't cold enough to freeze so we're fine. Now where my parents live which is about an hour and a half North, they got nearly a foot of snow. I'm a happy camper today!

Oh, my oldest would love the zoo idea! Only problem is I can't figure out how to do a snake costume that wouldn't be sweltering hot.

Amazing what a different a little distance can make!

We are getting lots of rain today. So glad it's not snow!

Now that is my type of sewing!!! :lmao:

DH's mom and sister got me a sewing machine for my bday last year. Guess where it is? Still in the box...and that was August. :headache:
