I really need to just ugh right now. I thought Dh would appreciate that fact that I'm trying to save us money. But I think he really wants to stay at CBR. His reason is we are going for 10 days and could use the extra space. And oh yeah the pool looks cool.

So should I call back and switch. There going to think I'm nuts. I asked Dh and he said he really didn't care. But then gives me all these reasons to spend the extra money.

If Disney thinks you are nuts you will be in good company, I half expected them to ask me if I was nuts when I changed my ressie date and resort then called back the next day to change the dates again :rotfl:

My DH is easy going too and always says it is up to you , or that he does not care about everything, when I asked him if he wanted to stay BC or BW he said BC later when I pinned him down he said he thought I wanted to stay at BC so he chose it.

I think I would change to back to CBR if I thought that is really what he wanted to do, but then I left our ressie at BC and did not change to BW......big help I am huh? :rotfl:

Hey All, I have never done ADR's before. Would you recommend them for breakfast as well as dinner?

lol it's enough to pull your hair out isn't it?? DH and I went back and forth between the Poly and Beach Club today as an Epcot resort makes more sense, since that will be where we spend most of our time....lol but I think we are just going to keep what we have.

I look at it like this...sure I could save a few hundred dollars by staying at POP for the whole trip. Is the few hundred going to break me? Nope. Do I really really want to stay at the Poly? Yep. Will I likely ever get a 40% off PIN and stay there again? lol likely not. What the hell. Why not.

If you can switch to the CBR and have a great, relaxing trip without worrying about how much money you would have saved if you just stayed at POP, then switch. If you will spend time worrying about how much extra it cost, or it will impact other things you wanted to do, then I'd stick with POP.

lol i know..totally not much help am I???

I would recommend them if there is a place you think you want to eat, or know you definitely want to eat there. Also if you are big breakfast people, there are some good breakfast buffets out there. If you are happy with your food court/quick service breakfast then no need to make them.

I switched 5 times since I booked our vacation! I've gone from CBR to POR to CBR to POR back to CBR. Now I'm not switching again because I'm afraid they will "accidently" delete my reservation. We can't be the only ones to change our resort reservation multiple times, right?:rolleyes1

Just curious. Is anyone attending Night of Joy?? We've never been to WDW in September, and I am so sad to be that close to Night of Joy, yet still miss it by a few days! Unfortunately, we just can't stay any longer than one night following our cruise. I guess we'll have to come back to WDW in September another year!

We will coincidentally be down there during Night of Joy....however it just happens to be the exact same days we are on the Disney Dream! I thought about trying to rearrange our cruise for the one prior, but after thinking more about it, I decided not to since it will just be DD-6 and I and I'm not sure how long she'd be able to hang at Night of Joy before she'd get bored and want to do something else anyways. I've seen most of those Christian artists in concert in the past, but would LOVE to be at Night of Joy at some point!!

Ours is at 5:30pm! :goodvibes

Awesome, I'll wave and say hi if I see you!

Hey All, I have never done ADR's before. Would you recommend them for breakfast as well as dinner?

I don't like wasting early park time at a sit down breakfast. Prime park time is RD to around 11. This is when it's usually least crowded. So, I make ADRs for breakfasts if the time is before the park opens. (For this trip that's 8:05 at CRT when MK opens at 9.) Or, I schedule their latest breakfast time to serve as a brunch, say around 11 am.

I'm really glad to see its not just me! Just switched to a two-resort stay! Boardwalk Villas and AKL Jambo:banana:

I was able to make my adr's today! This is my first trip so I just booked dinner since I don't know how I will adjust to the new time zone. When I went to hawaii I was up at 5am everyday and fell asleep by 7:30 :confused3 My body just doesn't want to adjust I guess. I know its not a huge difference but I'm just not sure if I could make a breakfast adr.

My ADR's

September 12 - Le Cellier Steakhouse 7:10 p.m
September 14 - Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano 5:50 p.m
September 15 - Ohana 6:50 p.m
September 16 - Jiko – The Cooking Place 7:10 p.m

I'm thinking that lunch is a safe bet but I don't know where to book. I want something fun but vegetarian friendly.

Oh, and by the way, this is how i feel about my trip :yay: I have to get this all out here because I'm driving my DH crazy!

Hey September people!!! Do you remember when the park hours for September came out?? I am trying to plan my days and ADR's for October but the hours haven't posted yet. Thanks.

So excited to see all the new faces and everyone making their ADR's!

Is your whole family vegetarian, or just one member? Have you seen the Vegetarian/Vegan dining thread? Ohana was high on our list until Chef TJ left, it seems hit or miss for vegetarians without him, and I don't want to risk being disappointed as there is not much on the normal menu for us.

Oh, and by the way, this is how i feel about my trip :yay: I have to get this all out here because I'm driving my DH crazy!

I think a lot of us here are in the same boat!

Ohana is another I am on the fence about DH wants to try it but I just do not know where to fit it in
Also having read about the long check-in and wait times, has me worried since I did think perhaps going there before MNSSHP ?

My husband & I enjoyed the food & atmosphere at Ohana (dinner) but our kids did not. Picky eaters and they were tired. The wait was a bit long (20 mins?) but I'll just build that into my choice of time for dinner when my ADRs come up. I can hardly wait to go back there without the kids! :goodvibes

Hey All, I have never done ADR's before. Would you recommend them for breakfast as well as dinner?

I would recommend breakfast ADRs if you like to eat a big breakfast, and/or want to meet & greet characters without waiting in the parks, and can schedule them *before* the park opens!

IE, we're scheduling an 8am breakfast at Crystal Palace when MK opens at 9am! The food is good, and I LOVED walking down Main Street before the rest of the crowd gets in!

We also did Akershus breakfast at Epcot, and Donald's Safari in AK last trip.

6 months in advance! September came out beginning of March. So October should come out beginning of April. Happy Planning!

Hoboy. I made the links for our 100 day countdown chain (really more for us than DD but I think she'll like it) with a different character on each one. We'll take the link down at dinner and the next day we'll do something involving that character's movie like read a book, color a picture or watch a movie. Other days we'll do something like go to the Zoo to visit the lions when it's Simba or to the aquarium for Nemo. We have memberships to both places so it'll be cheap or free. I like to plan this stuff so I'll probably have a big list all ready to go. Mostly I want my DD to get familiar with the characters she might not know like Peter Pan (WHEN is that movie getting re-released on dvd? Come on!!).

I just told my DH that I'm getting up at 4:45 central on the 22nd to make our ADRs and he thinks it's not necessary, but I would rather get up early and rest assured I got everything I wanted!

BorkBorkBork-how are your plans and ADR's coming? Is there an aquarium in Milwaukee or do you go down to Chicago? I love the Milwaukee Zoo, but haven't been in years. Maybe have to check it out this summer! Would love to go to the Aquarium too (whether its one in Milwaukee or Shed)

That sounds like so much fun! Dumbo is actually my least favorite Disney movie (despite the fact that I sing my DD "Baby Mine" as a lullabye every night) because I find it very disturbing. The hallucination scene after Dumbo gets drunk, and the fact that none of the African-american people have faces are the worst parts. So DD has only ever seen it once, DS not at all. I'm unsure if I'll let them watch it again for a while.

Lemonsours, you have to put some things in Disney movies (and all film and media for that matter) in historical perspective. Remember that animated features at that time were made for adults and children to enjoy not specifically thought as cartoons for kids as they often are now.All of this you can teach that as it becomes age appropriate for your kids. If you wanted to delve into that you'd find a lot of things that aren't considered politically correct with many Disney favorites such as the slavery issues in Songs of the South and the Brer Rabbit stories, Native Americans as "Red Men" in Peter Pan, the wench auction in Pirates of the Caribbean, etc, so don't discount Dumbo so fast!

What a great thread! Thank you LHarper for referring me to this thread!

I thought I would introduce myself and my family. I'm Becky (a librarian, in case you couldn't tell:goodvibes). My husband (computer techie guy) and my son (four years old now, but will be five when we go on our trip) will be going on our first WDW family vacation in September! Our dates are Sept. 17 through the 24th. We're staying at Port Orleans, French Quarter. We've booked during free dining, so we are on the DDP. I am super excited about our trip!!!

Hi Becky! I'm Betsy and I'll be at PO Riverside the exact same time as you! Maybe we'll see each other on a bus!

This answers another question for me...yeah I love this thread. I was wondering what the earliest time to get an ADR in MK was, we want to do Crystal Palace so I would assume they do a 8:05am too? I can start making adrs on the 19th! :woohoo:

Eh, I wouldn't care if they thought I were a quack or not. If that were me and my husband, I'd totally call and change back. :rotfl:

:woohoo: Yay for ADR's!

Add my family of 3 to the mix. We'll be at POFQ from September 8th through 19th!!!! :cool1:

:welcome: to our group! I have you added to the first post! :cheer2:

lol I was up until late last night looking at the Beach Club! We will be spending Monday-Friday going back and forth between MK and Epcot (our favourite park). I was wondering if staying at the Beach Club might make more sense...lol why do I do this to myself?

I really think I'm going to go with the gift card idea. May I ask how much you put on there? I can get an idea of what we might spend, but really won't know until we're sitting down to eat, and seeing how hungry we are :)

Your transition day sounds awesome! I read about the cruise in the BC thread last night. Our girls really love the water and swimming and the BC makes a lot of sense...it does as well because of the proximity to Epcot.

You should definitely try T-Rex! Our girls LOVED it last year and they weren't really big dinosaur kids. I actually enjoyed the food as well...lol so there's a plus :)

I can understand...so many good choices it's hard to decide! I'm sure you will love the Poly! :cloud9: It will be fun to compare notes when we all get back from our trips!

Right now, I have a $500 gift card for the second part of our stay...I will add more between now and September. If we don't use the entire amount on food we will use the money for souvenirs, some adult beverages ;), maybe a new Disney Dooney for me:lovestruc etc.

Glad to hear the positive review of T-rex! It is high on our list plus I will probably either use the 99 cent kids meal coupons or join the safari club to get the free app/$10 voucher :thumbsup2 I might pick up a Landry's gift card while I'm at too so I can pre-pay that meal too, LOL

I am the only veg in my family, this trip will just be my husband and I though and he is a serious carnivore. I wasn't sure if Ohana would be too much food for the two of us, especially if I am only eating the noodles and veggies. :confused3 But man I am a sucker for some good noodles!
