September 2011 - The Planning Has Started!!!

We are going to be there for the first time from Sept 22- Oct 1st. Staying at the Old Key West, 2 bedroom villa.

I am so excited, and it's like 200 days away!!!!

I've seen several people compare Chef Mickey's dinner to Cape May's dinner, and I just wanted to double check because I'm pretty sure Cape May's dinner doesn't have character's!

I wish I was wrong, but the websites all say Breakfast is the only character meal. We also will be doing the Cape May Clambake for dinner--we love seafood and can't wait to try it. Also can't wait to try Sunshine Seasons!

I didn't do a very good job of my initial comments about Cape May or of reading the PPs notes about dinner... oops! I meant to say we have had breakfast @ both Chef Mickey's and at Cape May and prefer Cape May to CM. We have never tried dinner @ CM, but based on our breakfast experience in 2008, it's not at the top of list of places to try. Again, nothing necessarily bad happened @ our breakfast @ CM... it was just hectic and loud (which I know that a lot of buffets are).

We're trying the Cape May dinner this time, hopefully (although no characters). I think out of our 8 meals we'd like to book ADRs for, 4 of them are character meals. DH and I figured that was a decent split of character vs. non-character meals. The girls aren't too picky about where we go. They have a couple of favorites so we always try to get their input, but the bottom line is... we're at Disney!

180 DAYS!!!

I just got finished making ADR's- it took so long.

But I got everything I wanted within five minutes or so of the time I wanted, including 'Ohana for supper and Le Cellier for lunch.
Everything was pretty open as far as I could tell.

It kept kicking me out and I kept having to log back in with my reservation- happened probably three times. Very frustrating. I got the ones I knew would be the hardest to get, first.
It opened up RIGHT AT 6 am- I kept trying 5 minutes before up until 6 am and it kept saying I couldn't do it.

Anyone else make reservations this morning? I got up at 4:40 AM my time.



Now, coffee and catching up with everyone.

Well, I had to get up at 2:30 this morning (I'm a west coaster!!) but had success, too, in getting all 11 of my resies. I have four more days to go! We'll be in several different resorts (DVC'ers) during our 2 week stay arriving on Sep 1 at OKW. I, too, was able to get Le Cellier for lunch and two different days dinner resies at 'Ohana (one for 4 people and one for 6 people). Fortunately I didn't have any log-in/off problems. I just opened a bunch of tabs with my choices all set ahead of time and then started submitting them at 6:00 east coast time. I tried to "sneak" in a bit early too but no-go!!!

It seems like things are still pretty much available right now. I just checked Le Cellier for lunch and 'Ohana for dinner for Sep 1st and there were several openings. Best of luck to all those still waiting!

Dani, I'm sorry they are going to induce you. I know they are concerned and every birth is different. I think I picked the 7th, but I hope she makes her appearance on the 6th. What day is your parents anniversary? That would be a great anniversary present.

L-Harper, I think its great you are doing CRT! I think your boys are the right ages to have fun and not think its too girly. Congrats!

Jo, Woohoo for getting all your ADRs!Now you can relax the rest of the weekend!

SJS, You are cracking me up! I'm a habitual resort changer so I can kind of relate.

My favorite non alcoholic drink is the cappucino smoothie from Aunti Gravity's in the MK. I always get one while the boys are on the stinky cars then I sit in the stands and take pictures of them when they come around the track. Mmmm, yummy!

Mickeypooh99(Mandy) and her family are coming over tonight for a Disney planning/game night. We're going to have the kids decorate Mickey head rice krispie treats, play some Disney trivia games and Disney Apples to Apples. Should be a fun night!

Just bought our tickets for the flights down to MCO last night! It feels much more real to me now that we have our flight paid for! I was going to wait till SW released their October schedule, but I couldnt wait any longer. Plus I paid a whooping $2.50 for each of the three of us for our one way tickets! So happy that I applied for their credit card during their promotion. Now just have to wait to book our return trip and thats another thing crossed off the list.

I got bored today while my husband was gone and my boys were sleeping. I'll fill in our flight and ADR times once I know them. I plan on printing the park times and crowd calendar for the week on the back so we can take it with us to the parks each day. I'm also going to put a copy up on our dream board.

I know what you mean, I wish I could have gone into labor on my own at least once, just for the experience. But it is what it is and I have 2 healthy boys! Let us know how things go as soon as you can.

Sheila -- I can't believe you changed dates. AGAIN. You are too funny! I hope it all works out for you and you get a great deal on the airfare!!

When I called last night I was holding my breath, I was sure the CM was going to say "Maam You just changed your dates on Wednesday" but he didn't and again I got a very pleasant CM who chit chatted with me about the Beach Club and how wonderful the F&W Fest is, so all is good, I am happy, DH is happy or maybe that is relief that he won't have to listen to me mention changeing our reservation again. In fact when I told DH it cost us $72 more to go a week earlier since room rates are higher, he did not even blink an eye

Sitting here with my DD sleeping sick on my shoulder. Umm drooling on my shoulder I mean.

I am getting excited for March 28th so I can book ADR's
Our kids don't know so I am making clue bags for them. I bought Minnie bathing suits from the Disney store for the 2 DD(4 & 7) today...they are soo cute. Now to find a suit for the tweens. Harder to do there.

Dani--I had 2 inductions--I am sure it will be fine. Mine turned out fine in the end! Will be saying prayers for ya!
