Not really sure yet how to reply to other posts but .....

I also have a friend who thinks I'm totally ape for this disney trip.....she said something like why would I pay to be in hell for 10 days....nice! She is a totally negative nellie too so it doesn't shock me! I also have another friend at work who's going to Disney in July for 4 days with her 2 young DD's ...she's skipping Epcot and HS and hasn't really worried with ADR's...I've tried to make suggestions but I can tell she's a no go for planning so every time we talk Disney it's so hard for me.....I think she thinks I'm nuts with all of my planning...

I am soooo ready to book our flights because we're going to try to use Alligant Air as they have some awesome deals for non-stop to Orlando but they only fly on certain days....they aren't releasing the Sept dates until APRIL!!.AGHGHGH!!!

Okay, so some suggestions regarding ADR's....my DD1 is a princess FREAK...she loves all things princess and watches her Disney movies OVER and OVER.....so I really want to try to do CRT for her as well as the Princess Storybook at Akershus. Do you recommend breakfast, lunch or dinner for these? I'm using Tour Guide Mike and he seems to be big on go early and see all you can early and then leave for break so that doesn't leave much for breakfast ADR's? I'm really more concerned with DD getting a lot of princess time though so I'm open to Breakfast if that's the best time??? I'm just not sure?

Thanks everyone!!

We did Akershus this last September. My girls LOVED it! The both had lipstick marks on their cheeks from all of the princess kisses!!! It was so cute! We went for lunch...my girls were fine with their food choices, but I am pretty picky and I couldn't eat what I got! :scared1: It is authentic Norweigin food. So I just ate bread and lunch meats from the cold bar. But my girls interaction with the princesses was worth it. If I were going to do Akershus again- I would do breakfast because it is American food.

We haven't done CRT yet, but are looking forward to trying it this time!

We're going...BAY LAKE TOWER (so excited!!!!!) for the 6-13!! It will be DS's first trip too :D

Good to know! I'm kind of a picky eater myself but luckily my husband and girls will eat just about anything. I think maybe I'll try Akershus for breakfast though just to be safe :)

What meal are you doing CRT this time?

Look at you learning how to quote! :cool1:

I am going to try for a breakfast time, but would be okay with a lunch ressie too.

:rotfl:
I love that people here "get" it...

I posted something similar on facebook, and a few friends were like you're moving to Florida??? :confused3 So I had to explain! :lmao:

It takes a certain type of person to understand  I am a hairdresser and my clients are constantly asking me if I have any holidays planned, somewhere in my answer I usually drop and yes, we are going to Disney again this fall!!! They give my back that blank stare, and say :confused:Didn't you just go last year? Aren't your boys getting to old? (one is never too old for the Mouse!) and the best....there is sooo much of the world to see (obviously they haven't done WorldShowcase )

princess:That sounds wonderful!!! :cheer2:

Basketkat - 7 month left, tomorrow the first number in our ticker will be a 6 :cool1:

I have steered away from princess meals. I don't think my son would enjoy it, at all. I know they same some boys get in to the fun of it but I picture him sitting there with a sour look, arms folded asking "can we leave yet" and since it is his vacation too I just can't do that to him. I wish they had a boy-centric character meal, then DH and I could divide and conquer. Ah well, my little princess fanatic is going to try BBB this time at least :thumbsup2

We're going to do our countdown party later today. :woohoo: Since we're also going Universal and are big HP fans we're doing a Uni theme today. Enjoying a cup of coffee and waking up before I start trying to make cornish pasties from the Harry Potter cookbook. :surfweb:

Hey everyone!

So, I stayed home from work yesterday with a sick little one. She had an ear infection AND pink eye. Lovely. I found out Monday that they've had about 5 cases of pink eye in her room at daycare and have not posted any notices. Grr!

Speaking of friends who don't "get it", I had dinner with the girls on Saturday and one of my friends told me "I can't believe you went to Disney for Valentine's Day and with the kids, even."

Oh, I'm sorry, I enjoy Disney and I enjoy doing things with my children. I understand that she doesn't enjoy Disney much and she doesn't enjoy her children much, but I do and it was the perfect Valentine gift for me.

Anyway, we are still working on our Sept vacation. If we can get the timing to work out, we will probably do a split stay CR and AKL, but I'm concerned about ADRs doing that. I would have to have 2 reservations, so my 180 + 10 may get messed up. I have to do a little research before we make our final decision.

So exciting!:cool1: I bet we all wish we could never come home ;) I check JetBlue every day now--it seems like forever since they last opened dates!:confused3

Marce

I have been doing the exact same thing, one day last week the September calendar was extended into October but when I tried my dates it came up no flights available, later in the day the calendar was back to stopping on September 6...but I figure they must be getting ready to roll out the next segments of flights very soon.

I wish I could decide between a Poly/GF split OR all GF. HELP!!! Then do I want DDP or not? If I do it makes the split more difficult unless I can get an AP rate. I hate making decisions! Then if my parents both come, my dad won't want to switch. My mom is easy going and will go along with anything.

Some people just don't get it. This is why I'm so glad that I've found the DIS so that I can share my crazy excitement with like minded people. :lmao:

Oh no! I hope your little one feels better soon. It's so hard when they're sick. As for ADR's if you have a split stay. I plan on using my first reservation to book all of my ADR's because I have a 10 day park hopper linked to my first reservation. I think you should be fine. :thumbsup2

The problem with doing the DDP on a split stay is that you pay insane rates for park tickets because you'd have to split them up. For us, we're doing a 10 day park hopper attached to our first reservation with 7 nights worth of dining credits. On our 2nd reservation, its just for the hotel. We will be paying out of pocket for our meals those last 2 days. It was way cheaper than to have 8 days of tickets plus 2 days of tickets. It was only about $30 to add the extra 2 days to our current park hoppers. If this makes sense.

So for you, it'd probably be cheaper to get the DDP for the first reservation along with park tickets for all of your days and then pay out of pocket for meals on your 2nd reservation.

Yeah that's why I'm hoping for an AP rate. With an AP rate you don't have to buy tickets for either package. COME ON AP RATES!!!

Ahhh! I get it now! I'm a little slow. :lmao:

No way! You're only planning your first trip! I think you're quite advanced. My aunt has been many times (never stayed on property) and I still have to explain to her 50 freakin times the difference between a room only and free dining....and why I choose room only and why I like deluxe resorts. She's relentless. She also said I shouldn't go this year with the baby because she can't go and thinks her and her daughter should just stay in my room :scared1: NO!!! lol This is vacation, not an experiment in torture!

My baby monster is doing much better, thank you!

I was just reading on the CL thread that they will book all of the ADRs for the whole time as long as you are CL on both reservations, which we would be, so I may have to give up control on an ADR or two.

My biggest fear is CRT. If we do a split stay, we would probably do AKL Friday to Monday or Tuesday and CR Tuesday to Friday. I was going to do CRT on Monday, but I don't want to hassle with getting there from AKL, so we'd probably move it to Friday. If we did that, I'd be worried about waiting to do the ADR until the 180 days from Tuesday because it's free dining and I'm sure that will be g-o-n-e really quick for that whole week.

Oh, decisions, decisions!

All of my other ADRs are pretty easy to get. We'd have to move some around a little bit, but nothing major.

Can't you still make reservations for 180+10 on your first reservation since you will still be in WDW? I don't see why you can't... Granted, I have never made reservations before so I don't know if it will lock you out after your reservation date or what. Good luck in your decisions!
