WOW! All I can say is EWWW! I have a friend like that. Her son is going to be 8 this year and every year I invite them to come (in their own room) and every year she says she can't see herself parting with that much money just for a trip. Uhh hello! It isn't for you, it's for your son! He's past the age where it will all seem magical to him now. :sad2: I can't imagine NOT taking my kids. This baby will be around 6-7 months for her first trip!!! I was raised on Disney, and my kids will be too! ;)

I think, people can't really imagine just how magical it is unless they experience it first hand. My BFF went a few years back and had a MISERABLE time.. well since then she has listened to me talk about how much I LOVE WDW, and they are planning on going with my family this September.. We have dc that are similar ages and I can't wait for us ALL to experience the magic of Disney together. :lovestruc

You converted her! That's awesome. :goodvibes

My friend has always been a Negative Nellie though, even when we were kids. :confused3

That's how my friend is too. She's also the type that would rather have the extra 4 grand in the bank to waste on other things. When I say waste, I do mean waste. I'm not just being mean. I guess to me there's no price for my children's happiness. :confused3

Last night I was talking to my friend about being excited for Disney and that I wished she'd take a WDW vacation soon so I could share my excitement with her. Well... wow... she's a "special snowflake". Granted, her little ones are 3 and 6 months old, but she was saying how much she'd hate going to Disney for more than just a couple days. She can't imagine spending so many nights in a hotel room with screaming kids who won't sleep. :scared1: She told me I was "insane" for wanting to go for 9 nights. She also said that she's going to laugh when I come home and complain about how awful it was. :sad2: Some people! "I'm just not into that whole Disney thing like you."

Her loss. I can understand not wanting to go if it is not your thing, but telling you you are insane is mean. Don't let her get to you. You're with friends here

This! I agree, there is no price for my children's happiness!:love:My life is about my family and my family loves Disney. We travel other places too and have experienced some wonderful things, but they always want to go back to Disney. As long as thats what they want, I will make it happen!

Today was the day I got to make the first 10 days of my ADRs so I should have known something was going to go wrong. Yesterday and last night we were treated to 1/2" of ice. The power went out about 1am. I got up at 6 and tried doing my ADRs on the iphone, but the internet was really slow so I ended up calling at 7, got right through and had no problems!

Heres what I have so far:
Aug. 24 Crystal Palace breakfast 8:05am
Biergarten 4pm

Aug. 25 Turf Club 5:40pm

Aug. 26 Scifi 11am
Teppan Edo 5:50pm

Aug. 27 Cape May Clambake 5:40pm

Aug. 28 Coral Reef 5:30pm

Aug. 29 LeCellier 5:30pm

Aug. 30 Hoop Dee Doo 5pm

I still have to make ADRs for Liberty Tree Tavern lunch, San Angel Inn lunch, Tutto Italia dinner and Kona Cafe dinner. I don't foresee any problems with those!:woohoo:

Looks like you did good on getting some of the ADR's you want. I have my list but still have not decided for sure what parks on what days and when and where to eat. I am procrastinating since I keep hopeing a discount will come my way so we can go end of October but it just is not looking good, especially since DH got a pin for December, I am so confused.:confused3

Sorry about your ice storm/power outage! :scared1: We got a bunch of snow all at once last night. It took my DH 2 hours to make his usual 30 minute commute home. :sad2:

Congrats on getting your ADR's!!! :cool1: My day is Sunday! :yay: I think I'll only be able to make them for the first part of the trip though. On day 6 we move from CBR to the Poly, so it's a whole seperate ressie. I suppose I will have to get the rest of the ADR's 180 days from the first day of that ressie. I think I could get around this by calling, but I don't like to call! I only need to make 2 ADR's after we switch so I think it will be alright to wait the extra 6 days to do them online.

Don't worry about it. Disney is what you make of it! You will have a great time! :goodvibes Unfortunately I think we all have some of those people in our lives -- the kind who just don't get it, the kind that think WDW is a giant amusement park, the kind who say -- you're going to Disney AGAIN? :faint:

It used to bother me. Now I just laugh. :rotfl:

I remember last year when I booked our trip, it was for 8 nights at POP. I kept fretting over those double-beds once I found out CSR had queens. (11 & 6 year olds here). Hubby kept telling me to switch and don't worry about the extra cost. About 2 months later, after I discovered DIS and learned about Disney, I also decided I did not book enough days for our first trip! So, I switched to CSR and added 2 more days on. Took me a little longer to 'fess up about the extra days to hubby... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

Oh yes, I was really trying to make CSR or the other mod with the queen beds (POFQ?) to work. I can't justify the extra cost now, but when my kids are both over 3 I think I will be able to!

So, I think I'm finlly understanding this 180+10 stuff for ADRs and finally have my correct day at March 15. I have never made my reservations this early, but I've never tried to CRT either. Looking forward to that day. :surfweb:

I so want to upgrade to a moderate. My my girls are stuck on POP my youngest cried when I showed her CBR. Oh well.

It was a toss between CBR and POFQ. I think I had my oldest convinced about CBR with the pool but my youngest was like no way. I guess I just saved myself 800.00.

DS is a die hard Pop fan. He loved CBR! The pool is super awesome with 2 slides and the kid's pool is the best on property!

They will eventually want to try a mod so save money now while you can ;)
