September 2011 - The Planning Has Started!!!

Our first trip was last September. I had a hard time about breaks as well. Everyone kept posting to remember to take a mid-day break and how hot it would be. But our eldest (11) wouldn't need a break, and our youngest (6) is so on-the-go-nonstop that we didn't feel he needed a break. It just didn't make sense to waste all that time travelling from the park to resort, sleep, and back again...

So we didn't bother with a break and it worked fine for us. I'm happy to say we rarely had trouble with the heat as well. However we did find that because the kids were non-stop all day, that it was best to get back to CSR around 8pm. Let them have a swim and all of us be in bed by 10pm. That did mean we missed Fantasmic and Illuminations but that was ok.

One day we weren't feeling well (daughter sneezing, sinus issues for me) and we left AK before lunch to head back to the resort. Ate lunch there, they swam with hubby while I slept. I hated missing AK... but I would have hated us missing our Boma dinner and the Pirates & Pals Fireworks voyage that evening!

Because we planned on being in MK very late (MNSSHP), I planned on us sleeping in that morning and spending the day at one of the waterparks. That was a nice lazy relaxing day!

Hey, OT here - HOW do you remember where you left off reading on this thread? I subscribed to it, but cannot seem to figure out if there's a way of returning to the last post read.

I got hit by 2 cars last year, so I have a lot of back problems. It's making my sciatica AWFUL. She's also been low the entire pregnancy, which was good because I could breathe, but bad because the pressure on my hips is abnormally painful. Of course now DS has winter break this week and doesn't go back to school until 2 days after my due date. Thanks Board of Ed! lol

Oh MAN!

Please add us to the planning fun. We just booked for Sept 2-8 at Beach Club and Bay Lake and then our first ever cruise Sept 8-11. We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary!

Can I be added to this thread too?

I'm going on September 10th - 24th & staying at port Orleans French quarter

I have no idea. I just go to the last page and backtrack if I have to.

I have a friend who is in WDW right now and I keep checking her FB for photo updates. It's fun to live vicariously :cool2:

Add us please!

My DM and myself will be staying at POR (our very 1st time at a Mod) from Sept. 11th - 17th. We will be celebrating my 40th birthday (albeit a few weeks late, since we couldn't go on the exact date).

We also plan to take 1 day and go to Universal, since we have never been.

As far as ADRs go... this is what we are hoping to get,

Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue
Yak & Yeti
Boatwrights
Tonys
Coral Reef

I just paid off our trip!! Man...that feels SO good!!!!:banana:

I just need to get flights now! I was waiting until they posted flights for our return home, but they went up $10 since last week. Boo!

I'm the opposite I have the flights but have a way to go before paying off our trip. I take care of a little boy during the summer and use that money for our trip. I could use some of our tax refund but my trip don't need to be paid for til August. Glad you got yours paid off so early.

September 13-20 for us, a split stay with three nights at Pop Century from 9/13-9/16 then we check into the Beach Club for four nights on 9/16-9/20

We are soo excited...as you can see from my siggie we are a Value resort family but using the stay/play discount for the first part of our trip combined with the 40% Pin for the second part we get to try a deluxe for the first time :woohoo:

We love Pop Century but are so excited to be going to the Beach Club and my girls are looking forward to Stormalong Bay!

We already bought flights through Southwest and got a great price of $67 pp each way so we are just thrilled and I am in full planning mode. Glad to join all of you!:goodvibes

We are excited about Stormalong Bay too!

"Happy Anniversary!!"

Thanks so much. :)

We are the same way, MK is our last day. I also might suggest that if you have little ones you visit some of the other parks first--they don't quite live up to MK afterwards.
Marce

This is us, we usually do Epcot first, followed by HS, and then MK. :thumbsup2
