JBmom, I will pray for your family, I can't imagine how hard this time must be.

just wanted to pop in and say hello before I get my herd ready to go pick up Tangled :) My husband has been on land, in a port far, far away, so I've been busy talking to him!! :)

Have a wonderful day everyone!!!

Wow! I was off for two days and came back to 10 pages of posts! This is a seriously active group! :o)

DH got excited about putting together packages for the kids and even got on the Disney Store website looking for things like pjs and sunglasses. DD walked in while we were surfing and shot down all the things we had tentatively identified that she'd like! :rolleyes1

Go figure! She's 8 and not into princesses and absolutely ABHORS pink. :headache: Which is a pain because she's blonde and it's a fabulous color on her. She will accept green and likes blue, but purple is too close to pink and all the characters she's into are the ones that are harder to find: Pocahontis, Mulan, Jasmine.

In good news, DH also seemed positive on the MNSSHP! I thought he or I could just take DD but he thinks we have to take DS (3) too. I am not sure on this...I love the boy but he's never been a fan of halloween and last year the *only* part of his costume he'd wear was his cowboy hat. (With his blue coat on he looked less like a cowboy and more like a modern day rancher!)

It will be fun, but alot more planning will be needed to pull it all off without terror and tantrums!

Kids...they grow up too fast don't they. My DD will be 8 in July and still loves all things pink and princess, but I know the day is fast approaching when that will not be the case :sad1:

I think you should take your little guy with! :goodvibes MNSSHP is such a great family party and he would probably enjoy the character dance parties and the low to no lines for rides is a big bonus! The first year we went to Disney and our first MNSSHP my little one was only 15 months old and has gone to the party every year since. It was a little more work when she was younger but every year has been fun and memorable in it's own way :cloud9:

I think you should take your 3 year old too! And I am usually one who endorses just taking one kid anywhere for simplicity, although my DH almost never buys it. Is the problem only that your son won't want to wear a costume? You could just let him go without a costume, or just wearing a hat, or whatever he wants.

We booked yesterday - last day for the room discount and DH said to go CL!! :cool1: We're headed back to the Poly 17-24!

Right under the wire! :woohoo:

Please add me.

Sept. 12 - 17 (Yacht Club) 40th B-day Celebration!!!

Cannot believe it, WDW and I will be 40 years old, Yipee!!!

Hey everyone.. some bad news here.. since I'm having a baby in October we've decided to push our trip back a year.. So I won't be joining you all this September. :sad2:
We are planning on next September though. So, I may see some of you repeat go'ers then! ;)

Got my ressies done , but still don't know what to do with the 6th TS. I went ahead and did Maya Grill, but don't think I'll keep it.
Here is what I got:
Sept 26: Akershu 8:30 A
Sept 27: Crystal Palace 8:10 A
Sept 28: Chef Mickeys 9:15 A
Sept 29: Tusker House 8:30 A
Sept 30: 50's Prim 12:15

Should I do the 6th TS with a character?
I am getting a headache from trying to figure all of this out :headache:

KellyWasHere!

Update on the MNSSHP. DH suggested I ask DD about it directly so we could see if it was really something she'd want to do (it's a little expensive) and not just a fantasty of mine! :rotfl:

Well, her opinion was :thumbsup2, but only if her little brother got to attend also. Her advice was exactly the same as yours! Just put him in his cowboy hat or something!

I want to brag on my little girl a bit. She's 8 and getting to the age where having her 2 and a half year old brother hanging about is a bit of a drag (you should hear the fits pitched when he gets into her Littlest Pet Shop toys!) But she's so inclusive of him when it comes to events or activities. I never get the rolled eyes or argumentative tone when talking about bringing him along on an outing with her.

So, I guess we are on for the party as a family! Now it just remains to be seen if the rest of our crew (sibling, sib's bf, mom and dad) want to come too!

Hey EGDanger1, welcome to the list!

Thanks to everyone for the compliments! I just wanted to share a few photos because I was getting overly excited for the next trip! :wizard:

Love the outfit. That has to be one of the best ones I have seen. Love the resort Theme.

I pre-orderd mine from the DS not sure I will do that again. Since my girls would love to watch it today and It's my birthday. My dh won't be home he has to work late of all nights. Plus I have a kid I'm watching today and the dad tells me this morning that he won't be picked up til around 630. Yeah for me!

I had thought about doing the breakfasts a little later, daughter doesn't eat real early. I may try changing them.

Are you still trying to get a later time for PL? Any luck?

Regarding Tangled....I love that movie! We pre-ordered the 4 disc set from Amazon and it came yesterday. Looking forward to watching it again.

What about the character meal at the Grand Floridian? Otherwise I'd say find a nice lunch or dinner for the adults in your party!

Hey EGDanger1, welcome to the list!

Glad you're going to MNSSHP as a family! Like I said in my last post we have always made some great family memories at the parties

At the 2008 party when my youngest was just two years old we did not wear costumes as it was so hot when we went to the party in 2007. Instead, we all wore matching tie-dye mickey shirts.

Here is a picture of the girls (DH and I wore them too):

Mickeymouseclubhouse,

That's just too cute! Your girls are adorable. DD really gets into Halloween, but we never know what she will come up with. I talked her into being a gypsy last year, and the year before she was the Goddess Athena (all because she wanted to carry around this stuffed owl). Magic Treehouse books have really expanded her history horizons, but I get odd requests for costumes now! :lmao:

I will have to come up with something that's lightweight and spiffy and can be easily packed. (I will also need something for DH and I since we always dress for halloween). We do medieval reinactment though, so we usually cheat and dress in our medieval garb! (He's adorable in armor!)

I will try something for DS and if it doesn't fly, he can have a hat!

I am excited though, this will be much fun as a family!

I like the creative and unique costumes your dd comes up with!

Medieval reinactment? How cool! :thumbsup2

We're just going to be a family of pirates this year pirate: It works out with the kids going to PL and they are obsessed with Jake and the Neverland pirates :cutie: I love seeing all the unique costumes at the party. Your family is going to love MNSSHP

Hi everyone,

Love reading all your plans for WDW. As this will be my first visit and not being a local (Aussie) could someone please explain (PIN) people receive them but I'm not sure what these are?

Also as we do not celebrate halloween here My DD14 & DD16 are excited to do trick or treating, (I hope this is open for teenages as well) how are people already planning nights when I can't find dates, times or buy tickets..... you guys must have inside knowledge or a lot of experience.... please let me know. Thanks

The party is for everyone! September is usually hot [for the last 5 yrs DH & went] so have a costume that is cool or breathable. We have done matching Tee shirts that glow in the dark. Try to make ADR's fro a resturant in the MK so you are already there by 7pm. Be sure to catch the shows in front of the castle too. It is worth the money to see so many of the characters out & about.:cheer2:

Great! She sounds like a fantastic big sister, how sweet of her! I love her costume idea of Athena, very cool! I hope you all can think of something creative and lightweight.
