September 2011 - The Planning Has Started!!!

Good Morning-
.
When I was changeing my reservation yesterday the CM told me how great Cape May is for dinner, she raved about their crab legs.....I have been there for breakfast but never for dinner , is it really good? Anyone been there.

I almost hate to start reading reviews , when I was looking and reading reviews of O'hanas all I was finding was negative ones :scared1:

Off to get more coffee and pay some bills

We tried Ohana for the first time on our last trip, and it will be a must visit for every trip from now on! Love the variety of food, really something for everyone. I will say it was a little hectic in the waiting area-but I chalk that up to it being close to dinner time, free dining, the heat, and hungry people. I think alot of people who have problems with Ohana, either have some unrealistic expectation of what its going to be, or are really hard to please to begin with. The chicken wings are really good and so are the noodles-my boyfriend and I could've eaten a meal of that alone. He loooooovvveed the bread pudding. I have an allergy that kept me from eating it, but the chef sent me out a fabulous dessert of soy ice cream with skewers of fruit and Divvy cookies piled high coming out of it! Love that place!

I always have to remind myself to take others reviews with a grain of salt,,,because everyone's opinion is different. However, when a place is as hard to get a reservation at as Ohana, its that way for a reason...cause its good!!

This may sound weird, because we've usually gone at the end of August or beginning of September-I feel like I should be ready to book my flight and make my dining reservations in February,,,not have to wait til March...and I'm so excited about it, I'm afraid that extra month wait is going to kill me! :rotfl: But I'm glad to have found this board and have fellow Dissers to wait with!

I think you're right of course about everyone having different ideas about which restaurant is good.
Shelly (Momof2disneyboys) and I cannot agree on many restaurants at all. (We'll always have BRG Shel!:goodvibes)

Anyway-- that was so nice of the chef to send you out a different dessert!

I have to ask-- when you went in late Aug- early Sept, were you there over Labor Day weekend and Day? If so, how did you find the crowds?? Any tips for going then?

And we'll help pass the time-- I'm afraid as the time passes we will all fuel one anothers insanity.:lmao:

Er, I mean--------- we shall all celebrate each other's luck and joy.

Well that's good news for me then. At least I will miss the horrific lovebugs. Too bad about the horrific heat.

Yep -- That puts you at 33 weeks JO! :woohoo: I like the sound of weeks better than months or days for some reason. :confused3:rotfl:

Thanks for counting for me. You know how much math stresses me the heck out.

I think 32 weeks + 1 sounds even better.

Just don't try to count out how many hours until we leave.:rotfl:

It might make my head explode-- I don't have that many Mickey Heads!!

I know this is my third post in about three minutes but we have to celebrate the little things when we are so far away from leaving.

:lmao:

So I want everyone to look at my ticker-- Tink's hand isn't touching the side anymore! She's on the move, Chief!!

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

When I looked at my ticker this morning I stared at tink and over-analyzed how much she moved since last time.

At this stage of the game, its the {very} little things that count! :rotfl:

Is it wrong that I keep looking at my planner to make sure I haven't magically hit the 180 day mark? :lmao:

I really need to get a ticker. I have a countdown set up on my phone. It's a Mickey head with the number of days left on it. Very cute, but I spend more time on here than on my phone.

I want to go to WDW NOWWWWW.................The weatherman just said it is going down below zero tonight and I think I heard him say the word snow again :scared1:

We have this really long 200+ ft driveway and right now going down it is like going down the luge in a tobaggon the snow is piled so high on the sides and almost touching the sides of the car, it is scarey :scared1:

The Poland Spring guy left the water bottles down by the mailbox today, I guess his truck would not fit up the driveway or he was scared too :rotfl:

Oh my, that sounds terrible!

Our driveway isn't that long, but it's been a sheet of ice all week. We don't own a snow shovel or plow and all of the stores have been out of shovels since last week.

We tried to get some ice melt or salt last Saturday and Sunday, but of course, those were sold out as well.

We are hoping for a nice sunny day tomorrow to melt it all.

I moved from the North thinking I was getting away from all of this junk. Geez!

We will be at Pop sept 20-29 for free dining. We will be celebrating our sons birthday and our 10th anniversary. They both fall within our vacation dates! Cant wait!

I hate living here in the Northeast, but I tried after our first visit to Fl in '89 to talk DH into moving south and he would not budge. We normally have a sand bucket to throw on the driveway but DH missed putting it out this year on the day the town was distributing the sand

Hope it warms up for you there

I grew up in Iowa and DH grew up in Michigan. We met in Chicago and moved to Georgia about 6 years ago for his work, so we are used to the winter weather, but this storm was just crazy.

Usually, we may get one ice storm that closes schools for a day, but this was ice and snow covering everything for days!

It really made me wish I could have just taken the whole week off and escaped to WDW, but DH and I had to alternate going in to work all week so that one of us was home with the kids.

It did give us more time to do some vacation planning, though.

JoBird-
Yes I have been there over Labor Day weekend and day. The crowds definitely clear out after the weekend. One year we actually slept in and then went to a waterpark, and it was perfect! We spent that night in one of the parks, and the crowds thinned visibly through the day...it was crazy. After that literally a long wait was 20 minutes,,,for everything except toy story and maybe soarin and thats it, which were 50-60 min. I'd highly suggest it to anyone actually. Of course its hot, so I'd suggest going at park opening, having lunch and going to your resort and taking a rest and then going back to the park in the evening.

I'm in the midwest, and while we haven't gotten slammed lately like the south or the northeast,,,I too am tire of winter!

Coming to you live on my touch from chicfila...
Woke to power outage
A drunk driver hit the power box to our subdivision and knocked out power to the whole neighborhood
The company said it could be days to fix.
Pray for us :)

Oh no! I hope the driver is ok, even though s/he was VERY stupid to drive drunk of course. For you, I hope that they get everything fixed very soon.

Hello everyone

Jo-
Days to fix? Whoa. I really hope they get it done quickly.

Yes CT is buried in the snow and when I tried to carry the groceries in yesterday and slipped on the ice falling into a snowbank :thumbsup2 I thought I WISH I WAS IN FLORIDA RIGHT NOW! But usually I am a big fan of the snow :goodvibes This was just a bit much at once. And yes I heard more snow this week. Because 30" in one storm wasn't enough....:upsidedow

Watching Ratatouille with the kids. :happytv: I love this movie.
