September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

Just had to share my September traveler encounter today:

Today while I was shopping at Target I saw the Girl's t-shirts were on sale ($7 down from $8.99...but a sale is a sale! :rolleyes1) and they had some fun Disney ones. So I am looking and talking to my youngest who is in the cart "Hmmm....does your sister need this Disney shirt?"....

Well this other mom was shopping and came over to check them out as well. I wound up saying "We probably don't need this shirt, but what's one more? :rotfl: She said "Oh I know...we are going to Disney in September, so it would be nice to have another shirt!"

I had to refrain from jumping up and down! Ha! We bonded for a bit over plans, etc. I was too scared to ask her if she DIS's or not...

I could have stood there and talked Disney with her all afternoon!

How fun that you ran into somebody else going to Disney in September! I picked up a few of the Disney shirts and a Minnie dress for DD5...Target really has some cute stuff :thumbsup2 Of course, I think she has too many outfits but with it being so hot in Septemebr I guess I'll just keep changing her outfit Lol

I :lovestruc Target!!! :thumbsup2Oh yes! "Costume" changes are a must! ;):lmao:

So exciting that so many of you have already started recieving Mickey Mail!! Im figuring I have another 2 weeks before we will get ours. Once it comes than it will feel like we are heading to disney in no time at all!:banana:

I have so much going on lately that I'm in shock that its August 12th already! DH and DS have been sick the past few days, and now I'm starting to get the sniffles.. not exactly thrilled with that but it does keep me away from the stores, which makes DH a happy man! :rotfl2:

I did however use our points from our Debit Cards and ordered a $100 target giftcard which allowed me to pick up all the toiletries, and little extras we needed for the trip. Now all thats left is to make our airplane bags, grab snacks and juices and we are all set! I figure I wont start that till the middle of September or DS will find them and eat them on me

Happy Dance for Mickey Mail!!!:banana::banana: Of course I will have to call and correct the errors made on the ME reservations, but still,
M-I-C-K-E-Y M-A-I-L-S! :banana::banana::banana: (Did you sing along?)

Woohooo! I just got some mickey mail! Our Magical Express Tags came in via UPS today! We're in Canada, and our arrival date is Sept.21, I definitely wasn't expecting them this quick. It's funny how more "real" it feels now!!

We're in Canada too and I got my mail a few days ago. I was surprised and excited.

Basketkat--how fun that you met a Disney friend in Target! I once approached someone at the library who had a "1st Visit" button on their stroller. The grandma was with the kids and she said, "oh yeah, they just got back with the kids". When I told her we were taking DD in Sept she just went on a tirade about how she was too young and wouldn't remember anything. When I told her that DH & I wanted to go for US as well, she clearly thought I was weird and that was the end of that! :confused3

HOORAY for everyone's Mickey Mail! I really thought that mine might come today but we actually got NO mail--zip, zilch! No fun! It should be coming any day now but I could have used the pick-me-up today. I have been working on sewing a doll for my DD's friend's birthday Labor Day weekend and I have to paint a mailbox with a scene for my parents by end of August when I see them next. These non-Disney projects have been weighing on my mind so I need to get them DONE so I can just focus on all the fun Disney stuff like packing and organizing!

:scared1::eek: YIKES! Weirdos like that are why I am hesitant to say anything to people about Disney!!! Ha!

Our youngest was 15 months last year on our trip. Whenever people would give me a hard time about her not "remembering it" I would say..."She won't remember me taking her to the park or zoo either...but she has fun and enjoys it in the MOMENT." And then they would look at me like this.... Hahahahaha! :rotfl:

I had a code for a Shutterfly photobook last year, so I made one of our trip. She has pulled it off the shelf a few times a week since then! But...like we've said before...you either get it...or you don't. :earboy2:

Exactly! We go to places (the zoo, museums) all the time with DD and have since she was born. Are we just supposed to sit at home and twiddle our thumbs? My SIL (not the brightest to say the least) once asked me "How did you know to take your baby to the zoo etc? Did you read it in a book?" Um...we gotta get out of the house! She (DD) remembers things from months ago already and looks at photos and talks about them.

DD loves to look at a small photo album I made for her with photos from our 2009 trip of DH & I with the characters, etc. I'm sure she'll remember this trip because we'll talk about it/look at pictures for a long time after. Anyway, WE'LL remember it and have a bazillion photos, and she'll remember the next trip or at least the one after that! :)

What?!?! How did you KNOW to go to the zoo? :scared1: I seriously don't think I could have answered with a straight face! YIKES!!!!

Aww yes I am sure she will remember it! :goodvibes

I don't want to jump the gun, but it looks like we are going to have to cancel our 3 night weekend at POFQ. :sad2: Apparently a job transfer is right around the corner for dh and his schedule looks like it's going to change to have opposite weekends off. Hopefully we can reschedule to a different weekend and still get the same great rate!?

Happy Saturday all! My last free weekend, school for teachers begins Monday  I'm gonna spend my day planning my wardrobe for vacation and hopefully add some items to my suitcase :woohoo:
 24 days left

I so agree. People used to say that to me when my youngest dd was 2 going on Disney cruises. I just said" I am not living for memories but in the moment!!!! My dd might not remember sitting watching cinderella for hours while she signed autographs. And sleeping in her arms. But i Do!!!! It doesn't have to be her that has the memories its me.

We left our countdown calender up from our June trip and are going to take the days off till its time. Now we just have to wait 13 long days until we can start.:yay:

I LOVE this idea for the countdown calendar. we tried a paper chain with construction paper but it got all mangled up the more we handled it lol.

I think I may borrow this idea for my house.

Thanks :thumbsup2

Our paper chain bit the dust too

Basketkat - I love that you saw a disnut in the store. I was talking to a woman in the grocery store a few weeks back and we both started talking about wdw and I kept thinking I should ask her if she was on the dis, but chickened out  It's like admitting to a whole other level of addiction. I'll have to start wearing a lgmh wherever we go

What part - we're on the east coast - Saint John, New Brunswick - we arrive 24th - hope that means our mickey mail is on its way :cool1:

We arrive the same day from just a little farther east and I haven't gotten any mail yet. Of course my TA seems to have forgotten about me and only put my last payment through last Thursday! :scared:
