September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

The challenge for us this trip is my new gluten free diet. I'm getting use to eating a whole different way. Disney has been great with information.:thumbsup2

I am a little behind, but the things we are doing that we have not done before:

1)dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe (first time visiting WL)
2)first time staying at BLT
3)renting a pontoon boat
4)dinner at Garden Grill
5)Victoria & Alberts
6)a night out with DH without the kiddos!!!!!

ok, sounding dumb here...is the one at DHS a show or actually a ride? I thought the new one in Disneyland they were doing was a ride and the one at DHS was a show? :confused3

Yes, the DHS one is a musical show with a few live characters ie. Ariel, but Ursula is a huge horribly designed mechanical type character. Nothing like the one created for the new ride at DL. Since she is my favorite, this has always bothered me.

Epcot: The rides in the WS: Maelstrom and the one in Mexico...can't think of the name at the moment!
The ride in Mexico--the Gran Fiesta Tour--is one of our favorite rides out of all the parks! It's so simple, but we just love it. Everytime we go, there never seems to be a line, so we sometimes go right back on it after we get off! I love seeing the inside of the Mexico pavillion and the kids love the cartoons along the way.

The Maelstrom is interesting! I'm not a roller coaster or scary-ride type of person and we didn't know what to expect for that ride. My heart started racing right at the beginning because it was so dark and it's hard to tell where you are going or what will happen next. Thankfully, it turned out to be ok and I love the little village at the end!

Firsts for this trip:
1. drinking aroud Epcot including a Grey Goose Slushie
2. Tokyo Dining, have done Teppan Edo b4
3. Sum of all Thrills
4. Cape May Cafe
5. BOMA
6. apparently Starring Rolls, that display case got me excited!!
7. Indiana Jones show (I think I saw it as a kid but I really am not sure)
8. Star Tours part deux
9. riding ferry from POFQ to DTD, dbf wants to take a boat ride
10. Maybe Fantasmic if time?

I love Maelstrom! That and POTC were about as "thrilling" as I could get when I was pregnant last time.

I have never been on/am going to try this time:

Splash Mt
EE
Tower of Terror :scared1: (going because I love the Twilight Zone but I'm a wimp so yikes!!)
Star Tours
Carriage ride at POR
Lots of restaurants like Ohana, Crystal Palace, I think we only have 2 repeat table service meals
American Experience (is that what it's called?)

Haven't been on since I was a kid but going to:
Teacups
Dumbo
Peoplemover (closed last time)
"new" Tiki Room :yay: good riddance, Iago!
Hall of Presidents

What I'm NOT doing:
Soarin' (I really don't think I can handle it, I'll wait til DD is bigger and we'll all go on together)
Mission Space
Test Track
Kali River Rapids
Dinosaur

Yay for all the Mickey mail! I would love to pack now but we're going on our trip this weekend and visiting family out of state in late August so I'll pack as soon as all those are done!

Today at Walmart & REI I got neck coolers, Bodyglide, a hip pack, a misting fan, some extra ponchos and quick drying socks. And a stuffed Minnie for DD. :rolleyes1

Dinosaur...my dd13 has tried it 2x now and she still does not like it. It scares her...

We are doing Tokyo Dining this year! 9/16 at 7pm

I understand. I really hope they bring the new ride to Disney World!

We are only doing a half day (AM) at AK so we're just planning on doing the Safari, FOtLK and EE w/ the single rider line. I'll try it another time as I'm not scared of dinosaurs in general...I've heard this one scares the pants off of lots of people though! It must be a good ride :)

I keep remembering things that we need to do and here I thought there wasn't that much. :confused3 my son really wants to do Jedi Training. We got there early in June but not at role drop an a half hour later all the spots were filled and they put him on an alternates list. However, it started pouring around lunch time and we never made it back. So I know he's going to want to do it this time.

So...are you guys tired of seeing things I've made yet??? :confused3
Well...I hope not!!! :rotfl:

I made one of our autograph books tonight (I want the girls to each have their own) and I was pretty happy with how it turned out!

This is the front cover...

I love how chatty everyone has been lately! We are all bubbling over with excitement!!!! :yay::yay::yay:

CUTE stuff!! You can tell it was made with love! What did you use for the template for the Mickey head?

We have certainly been chatty lately! I'll be gone for the next few days as we have a mini vacation to the WI Dells as I said before. It was super cheap since we have to sit through a timeshare presentation--good luck, people! If the DVC couldn't get us no one can!

Have a happy week, ladies, and I'll catch up with you later! :grouphug:

I finally talked Dh into bbb. I know lil dd is going to look just like a princess after her makeover! Calling tomorrow to reserve her spot at the MK location, hope I'm not too late.

September 5th cant come soon enough!! Celebrating 2nd Wedding Anniversary @ our fave Wilderness Lodge Villas!!

Welcome Home!!

:welcome: to the thread! I have you added to the first post! :dance3:

I can't contribute what we want to do that we've never done, since this is our first family trip. My answer is EVERYTHING!:cool1:

Steal away!!!! I cut the Mickey heads out first using chipboard to make it more sturdy! Well...not chipboard...a cereal box because I am cheap like that! ;)
My oldest got SO much attention last year that I HAD to make books again this year! It's after midnight here...which means one day closer!!!! :woohoo:
