September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

Ok so today I paid off the trip!!!:banana::yay::dance3:

I made good money last night in tips, so it is now officially paid off. Now to earn spending money!!! I have a tote with all our clothes in it so the kids can't see the new clothes. I will probably pack when the kids head back to school. I don't have to wait, could do it now..cause all their clothes are brand new. Whether they are something I made(MK shirts) or something Robin/Norma has bought(AK safari tops from Justice). The only thing I have to dip into their summer clothes for is maybe a pair of jean shorts, and maybe a bathing suit. They each will take 3-4 bathingsuits and they each have one bathingsuit they don't know exists. Robin. Norma and I tried to get the girls matching bathingsuits(at least one). Well off to fold laundry. TTFN

So glad to hear your trip is paid off. I really need to get that done. I'm waiting for a check right now for 400.00. I need 203.00 to pay off our trip. I might just take it out of savings and put it back as soon as the check arrives. I hope it comes next week.
My oldest who is almost 6 loves justice also. The only problem is she is a little on the plus side so she cannot wear there jeans beacuse of the length. But can wear a 8 in there shorts and a 7 top. She is brining 3 or 4 tankin's from Justice. My younger dd is a string bean and gap seems to fit her best.

Congrats to all those paying off their trips! :cool1:

I'm still trying to put away spending money but with both my girls birthdays a month apart it has been hard. My dd 7 who turns 8 on July 22, who is an avid book reader, informed DH and I that she really wanted a Nook Color for her birthday. So, after much discussion and thought, I picked one up last night from Barnes and Noble. But between the Nook Color itself, a screen protector, protective case, and extended protection plan....next thing I know I'm out $350 :scared1:

Hadn't anticipated the unexpected cost, and for the record DD does not normally get such expensive birthday gifts...but she does not need or want any more toys, clothes, etc, she's a super kid and loves to read so we decided we would buy it for her :lovestruc

I've been secretly playing with it and I love it so far! It's really cool! Besides, I think it will be a great thing to help keep the kids ( and mom and dad ;)) entertained on the plane ride to Disney, etc At least that's my story and I'm sticking to it, ;) LOL

Nothing wrong with spending a bit more for something educational. My oldest turns 6 next month. She asked for the small tangled castle and the dolls to go with it just those 2 things was over 50.00. She already has the large castle but wants the small one. She plays with it daily so I figure it wouldn't end up being a not played with toy. She is asking for a I-pod but I think that will wait til christmas. I do plan on gettiing her a 25.00 GC to Disney we leave 2 weeks after her birthday. Plus she leaves in 2 weeks for a disney cruise with my parents followed by a 2 day beach stay and 7 days at disney. Lucky girl.

We found out the other night that DH's dad is definitely meeting us at the World. He bought his plane ticket even, so we have had to officially make some changes, but then, DH's sister started talking about coming, too. So, we may end up having a huge group going.

DH and I have mixed emotions about the extra people. We really enjoy their company, but we both have a hard time with trying to make sure everyone is having a good time and we just don't want to have to worry about that on vacation.

We'll see what happens, I guess.

I hear ya - we have a big group going too - my DSis, her son, DMIL, DSIL & her fam, friends and then the 4 of us - decided we are going to plan for us and if others want to join cool - its impossible to keep everyone happy - we'll plan some main meals but then the rest of the time everyone can do what they want - otherwise I will spend my only vacation time in the last 2 years worrying about everyone else enjoying theirs... :cool1: although I probably will still do that a little :rotfl:

Woot, congrats to everyone paying their trips off! :woohoo: I had our original one paid off (before our little family crisis/setback) so now I'm trying to pay it off again. I'm going to come in under the deadline, but only by about two days. :sad2: I'll be breathing deep once it is! I woke up without my voice this morning; it happens when we have extreme weather and pollen. The temp is about 88 degrees right now, but the heat index is 102 because of the humidity. It's playing havoc on my allergies. My DH enjoys the quiet, though!:lmao: I hope you all have a great weekend!

I checked my dining reservations today and it lists a reservation I never even heard of, let alone made!

I had made a reservation at Kouzzina and it says I have a reservation for Chef's Menu at CoraNation for $60 pp. Ever hear of it? I am cancelling it, I just don't know how it switched from a kouzzina res to that.

I have not paid off my trip yet. I have given myself something like a ten day window to make the final on site off site decision. Yes, yes I am crazy. :upsidedow

That happened to me too... I think it's a computer glitch. The Cora Nation dinners are later in the evening. I had a 5pm Kouzzina reservation that said Kouzzina every time...... suddenly it says Cora Nation etc... I canceled it and rebooked it online... Online it says I booked Kouzzina. When I pull up the reservation, it says Cora Nation. Disney's web site is a mess sometimes.

That's pretty much how we are going to plan. We originally booked our trip in February and then updated it when we purchased DVC in March and I got up early on our 180 day mark to make our ADRs. Now, just a couple months before the trip, we have people coming out of the woodwork to go.
:rotfl2:

I'm planning on giving them our basic schedule and telling them that they can join us or not...whatever. We will all have our cell phones if we need to touch base.

Our reservation is at 5:15 and when I went to cancel it, it confirms as Kouzzina, so I haven't cancelled it yet. I figure I'll give Disney a call and see if I actually have a reservation at Kouzzina or CoraNation.

This may be a stupid questions but can you mail checks to pay for your trip? I couldn't find an address on the website so I wasn't sure.

Yes, and I happen to have the address! It is:

Payments Department
Walt Disney Travel Company, Inc.
PO Box 409668
Atlanta, GA 30384-9668

Hope that helps!

OK SO I got up this morning and was checking on my airfare only to notice that they had changed my flight . however now we leave on Oct 2nd with no charge and we are now flying out Sun morning instead of leaving Sat afternoon!!!Yeah!!!! Well that's good cause I needed another ADR....yeah us anoter day in Disney. Nice thing is I had a dinner ADR to pay out of pocket but adding the day covers that ADR so basically a pay for a nt and get meal for free!!!
