September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

I attempted to make DH, DS and myself matching tie-dye mickey head shirts last night. It definitely did not come out how it was supposed to, but for a first attempt it looks good! I am not crafty or creative in any way so this was a big step for me! I will post pictures soon when I figure out how I am going to "perfect" them :rotfl: We also are making matching MNSSHP shirts, so those who are going to the 9/27 party will see us! I will post those too when we are done! So much to do! Planning really is half the fun :goodvibes

I'm sure they look great! The one's I have made for MNSSHP are my fourth attempt, but they're exactly what I wanted, and I am uber picky. I'm just glad someone was wise enough to figure out how to come up with the Mickey pattern, it would never have dawned on me!:rotfl:

Wow! Great minds....we were doing something like that with matching hair accessories. Love it!

Now please excuse me while I do a happy dance. Just bought our plane tickets and added 2 days!!!!:banana::banana:
Feel free to join in!
Now I must update my ticker...2mos-3weeks-4 days

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
Joining in your happy dance, woot! 94 days and counting for us!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: My girls would never go for hair bows, but that would be so cute! They're stoked about the shirts, though!

We will see you during MNSSHP on 9/27. DS 7 and I are planning to attend that one. I haven't bought tix yet and planning to buy once weather comfirms. I'm not brave enough for tie-dye/iron ons.... :lmao: I think I'm just going to buy halloween t-shirt from our beleved Tareget. :rotfl:

We are doing bleach shirts - so easy and look so cool too... just have to figure out what to put on them... any ideas around halloween?? also does anyone know where to buy the bleach pens?

never mind - found it at Canadian Tire :) can't wait to start making them... the pen will probably be much easier than the spray bottle was... lol:cool1:

I think my daughter and I are either both going to be Pirates or Bollywood Dancers for MNSSHP. I would like to match, but seriously, do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Pirate, (or really any kind of), costume for an adult that isn't.....ahem.....risque? Seriously people, not every grown woman wants to look like they are going on "the stroll" for Halloween.

lol - yeah - the costumes are interesting... lol... think we are going as characters from Alice in Wonderland... wanna find a mad hatter hat for DH

I do have a huge happy dance to do after a very traumatic experience (okay,I exaggerate). Bought our plane tix yesterday and was sooooo happy :) until today when Southwest announced their fare sale :sad1:. I was near tears (because I am a penny pincher) and then I thought, maybe...and went to the Delta site and found that I could cancel my tix for NO FEE because I was within their price guarantee time. WOOHOO! Bought new tix and saved $160! :woohoo:

It's always great to save money! Way to go!:cool1:

Hey April we have missed you here and on GF. So stop by there and say hi to when you get a chance.

Awwwwwwwww, thanks Kelly! How's your planning coming along? Do you make daily itineraries?:goodvibes Even though this is our 5th trip in 2 years, I still make them.:cutie:They aren't as intense as they use to be......which drove DH nuts!:rotfl2: I like having something to follow everyday since I like to use EMH.:goodvibes I've already made all of my itineraries (and dining ressies of course); guess it's time to start packing! April

ADVICE NEEDED
Hi everyone! Here my issue, my grandfather my mom's dad, is not doing so good he has oral cancer and cant have surgery and is now hospice and sent home and doctor told him just to enjoy his summer, I'm confused of what to do with my vacation sine we leave september 17, my dh says just to take it day by day and if he gets worst by then we can just switch dates, since I booked with Disney , I can always switch dates, and my only issue would be booking dining and since I've paid for CRT that will be an issue to trying tofind another date. I would go now but it hard with dh job and too crowded. I am so sadden for my grandfather he and my grandmother is whom I am closest too, he practially raised me:sad1:

Been gone for pages and pages! Man you guys stay busy.

Bad news is that the stupid southwest fare sale means I seriously overpaid on my airline tickets. Grrr. Other bad news is that when I went to register my daughter for her Youth Education Series it was booked full. I had a minor panic attack and then signed her up for the Animation class instead, then went home expecting tears and recriminations for my lateness.

Good news: To my surprise, she was mildly disappointed but seemed just as happy to be in the Animation class! Yay. The tickets are bought, the airfare is paid for, the dvc room is reserved and all that's left is to pay for the dining plan.

Does anyone know if I can book that in advance and pay for it over the phone? I would like to be able to claim the 15 disney dollars it will get me!

The other bad/good news is that I had to revise my park plans and dining reservations for the 3rd time! Dad is not going to get to do the Crystal Palace...but I did get him an early morning ressie for Tusker House so we will see how that goes. Hopefully there are Mickey waffles since that's all he's talked about for months.

Whew.

Sorry to hear about other people's attacks of life, I hope things get better for you all soon!

To DisneyMom0709,

My condolences, loosing a loved one is always difficult and anticipating the loss makes it even harder. Your husband sounds like a wise man. It is good that you can change bookings with Disney, but as for CRT. Can you upgrade your QSDP to reg DP and rebook CRT with 2 TS credits and get a refund for your current reservation? Then if it turns out that you can travel when scheduled, you can switch back to QSDP (if you want) and pay OOP at the castle?
Just thinking out loud - hopefully someone wiser than I will chime in.

Sorry you over paid for you flights that stinks!

:banana:Well good news for us thanks to the SW sale. We were able to snag a non-stop flight arriving in orlando at 1050 am.:thumbsup2 We had a stop and weren't suppose to arrive until 330pm. So I'm really excited for this. We got a awesome deal on airfare so for us to switch did cost me. But for 9.20 for all 4 of us and we get there over 3 hours earlier I'm all for it. Heck I think I would have paid up to 100.00 more just for the non-stop alone.

The Ealeys HERE!!! =)

This is our 1st ever vacation!! :yay: We will be arriving around dinnertime Sept 10th and checking out Sept 16th. We have a family suite at All Star Music :cheer2:

I would agree wit your husband...day at a time. Anyone could have a last minute family crisis, they are not always predictable. Enjoy your time with your grandfather and worry about Disney when it's just a few weeks away. You will have a better idea how to handle it then. Hand in there :flower3:

Anyone else on a Jetblue flight that has been changed 2 times already. :headache:

Though I guess it's better than being cancelled! :scared1:
