September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

I refuse to cancel this vacation though, I told dh that it was non refundable. At this point! Hey a Disney girl has to do what a girl has got to do. :- well off to run errands. Talk to everyone later

Hey - you're only a couple days off the truth :rotfl:

We are really getting into the swing of things too - gotta get to sewing but my DM & DSis kinda went overboard with Disney shirts so don't need as much as I expected... lol... Friday night is planning night for the adults and Saturday morning is crafty morning making stuff for our doors & windows... worked on the folders for everyone last night - glued mickey heads to red folders and will stick all the info in them...

I've had bleeding before too, it's sometimes due to putting on too much paint at a time, not ironing the freezer paper down smoothly enough, too big of a weave on the fabric (denim/canvas bleeds a lot) or just bad luck. Because this Mary stencil was so tiny and intricate and the letters were so thin and close together, I was sure I'd get some bleeding. The shirt (from Target) is a really smooth, nice shirt so that probably helped. I applied the paint very thinly and lightly in layers allowing them to dry before doing another layer. I'm sorry you got some spots! They're usually not too noticeable once the shirt's on so I hope it didn't ruin your project!

I bet too much paint is my problem! I still have 2 more shirts to do and I will try to do less paint and just do two coats. Other than a couple minor spots, they turned out awesome! I'll post a couple photos later. Thank you for the information on how to make these. It's a lot of fun! I used my Cricut to cut the freezer paper and it worked out perfectly. It also took me 4 different stores to actually find freezer paper. :confused3

So I'm getting torn. We changed from a package to room only in July because the AP rates were awesome. Well I got my mickey monitor yesterday and it had some other savings details and for the same price I owe still on room only at AKL, I can have a Prefered room with dining plan at a moderate...so the gears are turning.
Although I love the idea of CL at Deluxe, I would be saving almost $600.00 not paying OOP for meals and I can use that towards Christmas....
what does a girl do? Help.....

Wow! That is a huge savings! I didn't realize the savings would be so different with staying at a mod compared to a deluxe. So you will be saving $600 PLUS the cost of all of your meals? Just think of how much more you'd be spending on meals, too. If it were me, I'd save the money for another vacation... SOON! :lmao:

We are PAID OFF!!!!! There is no turning back now! WOOOOOOHOOOOO!

 :cool1: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo:

Morning EVERYONE! ok I am getting so excited! Bork --love your designs. Can't wait to get back to sewing here after. LABOR day. I have a few things to make for our vacation. I don't know if I told everyone but we got told we needed a new furnace! So we had an estimate and its expensive. There goes some of my extra adr's. And what I had saved to pay off braces. Man that sucks. I refuse to cancel this vacation though, I told dh that it was non refundable. At this point! Hey a Disney girl has to do what a girl has got to do. :- well off to run errands. We're in a similar boat, our HVAC is okay in the winter, but we're having to babysit it during the summer. It likes to get over cold, and the unit will freeze solid. We've been dealing with it this summer, but it's on the must do list before it gets hot next year. We also found out that my youngest DD needs some additional medical intervention for an ongoing problem, and that both girls need to be fitted with braces pretty quickly. When it rains it pours! We've decided to skip a large vacay next year, and concentrate on things going on with the home front. This trip, however, is almost 18 months in the planning. There is no going back now, we all need this in the worst way. I am going to be the woman crying in front of Cinderella's Castle in six weeks! :goodvibes And, we're officially paid off too, so now we dance! :dance3::dance3::dance3:

We are gettting sooo close!!!! 1 MONTH!!!!

Still waiting on Mickey Mail though :confused3

I am going to take a small break from the DIS for a few days, ladies, just wanted to let you all know so you wouldn't think I had disappeared for good (oh yeah, you could only hope, but I'm coming back!:rotfl2:). I'll be back before anyone leaves on their vacation.

I can understand the need for a breather from the obsessiveness, but there will always be a Dis when you need a Disney fix!

I tried to step away after we got back from Disney in June. It lasted about four days. I couldn't do it. Lol. Guess I just need to stop by at least once a day. :goodvibes. Today we hit 50 days. I can't believe how close it is already.

Well we are definitely staying off site. I am happy to be going on vacation and glad the decision is finally made, 100%. I had left my package reservation, you know, in case we won lotto and money was no longer an issue :rolleyes1 and then realized last night at like 11pm that I never cancelled it!! Well I could not sleep last night worrying about losing the deposit, called first thing this morning and cancelled. I will still get the deposit back
phew.gif
I had until 10 tonight apparently.

Anyone ever cancel before? I paid with gift cards and was wondering about how long you usually wait before the credit shows up on the card again. Thanks for any info!!

Holy ticker, batman! 4 weeks to go!!! Crazy that we've been counting down from over 625 days.

My wife and I will be going Sept. 24-30 staying at the WDW Swan for the first time. We're very excited about being able to walk to Epcot and DS and having the Boardwalk so close at hand. Can't wait, 45 days!

Yeah, we've been planning this trip since my youngest was a baby. We wanted him to be 2 before we went. I've been researching and counting down for this for SO long! :goodvibes

:welcome: to the thread! I have you added to the first post! :dance3:

Want to share a couple of funnies. First, DH was dressing DS this morning and picked up a shirt...which I made him put back down. When he asked why, I said "I want to take that one to Disney World and I don't want him to get it dirty". DH gave me an odd look and said "we aren't going for a month right?"

I didn't have time to 'splain to him that toddler dirt sometimes doesn't come out and I didn't want that shirt stained!

This one's non Disney. DD (8 years old remember?) was talking about naming her teddy bear "Theodore" because someone was telling her about Theodore Roosevelt and the origins of the teddy bear. I asked her to tell me about Roosevelt and she mentioned he was born in New York (completely left out that he was president) and said she thought he belonged to a motorcycle gang called the Rough Riders.:lmao:

Her grandparents are bikers and both of them died laughing when I called to tell them.
