September 2011 - The Planning Continues! (2nd Thread)

KELLY I Know what you mean about the price of razors! That kills me everytime DH or myself needs one. I actually gave up buying the blades and just buy the Venus disposables. They last me about two months and run about $7 for a 3 pack. On another note, I cant believe you are leaving that soon! We are going to need a full trip report when you get back! :rotfl:

Last night I finally recieved my shirts for MNSSHP. They are super cute and we are all very excited to wear them (well I am anyways :rotfl:) So for those of you going to the 9/27 party if you see us feel free to say hi!

I tried the venus disposables and for whatever reason my skin don't like them. I thought they would be the same. Maybe it is in my mind. LOL

Love your shirts very cute. I cannot wait for the girls to wear there shirts for PL. I purchased mine off Etsy. I have no sewing talent at all. That is the only sad thing is we miss MNSSHP going so early. So we are planning on doing a few more extra's then normal.

We also did Kim Possible for the first time last November. My kids LOVED it. DS says it's his absolute fave thing to do at WDW. Love this thread - I'm loving all the planning for our trip in Sept :goodvibes

Thanks I'm trying to come up with ideas for Epcot. I think I'm going to get the girls the passport thing for one of the days. Then maybe we will do the kim possible one for the other day. We are going there 2 days and both of my girls are finally old enough that they both can do these things. I think walking around the WS last year was really the only day I melted.

We are thinking getting a few things shipped to the resort before we get there... saves shipping to Canada - does anyone know how soon we can ship things there before our arrival?

:rotfl2: Marblies, I wish you were going to be in WDW when we are, I think we would get along great! This is hilarious! :thumbsup2

I agree! If I didn't have my biggest craft fair of the year on the 24th, I would so extend this trip again.
I did notice that the front page has us scheduled 16th-21st, but I added 2 days on the front to arrive on the 14th. WooHoo!

My hubby feels like a celeb. Thanks for all the feedback. He is such a goofball and makes me laugh daily.

My DH is that way, we're both banana fritters so there is a lot of laughter in our home. I've even taught him some Midwestern sarcasm!:rotfl2: It sounds better in his Southern drawl anyway.;)

Peachydreamy - Great shirts! You'll be easy to spot at the MNSSHP! Once I start making my costume I'll post some pics so you can find us too.

:banana: Woot woot! I am so excited every day now! Just knowing some people on our thread will be there THIS MONTH makes it seem SO CLOSE!! I am such a kid

:cool1::cool1:

I just came across a couple of cool clips about the new interactive queue at HM
this one is the imagineer introducing the area
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUQxzdcL7ro

and this one explains a bit and shows guests playing
http://www.**************.net/2011/...ve-queue-at-walt-disney-worlds-magic-kingdom/

When we were there in Dec.10 there was plywood up over the graveyard, but I had no idea that all this was going in. So cool!

Ticker check!

I'm so excited! Since the trip is a surprise, I haven't really started shopping for last minute things or packing yet. Saving that for when the kids are back to school, so I'm hoping it'll help make Sept fly by for me!

Still messing around with ADR's though, I think I'm putting much too much thought/importance on meals!

We leave for Disney THIS month! Yikes!!

Here is a picture of the new (still holographic) luggage tags:

Does Disney always send these luggage tags? All Mickey mail means to me is the ME paperwork. I've always either been a cast member of the Disney Stores or booked through friends. That is a nice little touch.

We tried out the new Queue at the HM when we went in June. We thought it was very fun to play with. However, I didn't realize until we got there and saw it that you can skip it if you want to and after the fourth time of riding HM (we love it!) we started to by pass it. There's interactive walls with books and music. The kids really enjoyed it.

Love the new layout! I'm excited about this, my youngest DD is a huge fan of spooky or paranormal, so I expect the HM to be a big draw for her.
I've been working on the most asinine touring plan ever today. It includes all of the rides and attractions that we want to do in a clockwise motion. So, it strongly resembles a map!:rotfl2: Since there are attractions we are sure will not appeal to us at all, the touring plans just include our top faves. I am hoping crowd levels are low enough to do them over and over!

I was doing that as well. I looked at the schedule on a spreadsheet and realized with allowing for transportation to each meal and possible wait time, we would have about 2-3 hours to tour each park......

So we decided to cancel all breakfast and lunch ADR's and just keep dinner. I know there are lots of character breakfasts out there that are really important to alot of families. However this trip it is only DBF and myself so we do not have to worry about disappointing the kids. I am sure everything will work itself out for you! I had to remind myself that is supposed to be FUN!! not work! :hippie:

Yes, if you book a Magic Your Way Package (i.e., Disney room and park tickets), the luggage tags are included as part of the package.

Ooh, so have you worked at a local Disney store? I've always wondered what the benefits include. Do you get the same discounts as Cast Members in the parks?

The last time we were there we did character meals and just a few table meals and lost a lot of time from touring the parks. So now each time we go I only pick one or two to do. It's a nice balance. :)

Is there an ultimate packing list that I should be aware of? I'm starting to get our packing list together so I know what things I still need to pick up.

Thank you for all the compliments on our shirts! Cant wait to wear them! :goodvibes

We had the same problem.. originally we were going to try the DxDDP but after reviewing our plans it wasnt going to leave any park time! Especially since we like to spend the hottest part of the day back at the pool relaxing. We only kept two character breakfasts that were a must (but they are both before park opening) so we wont miss any actual touring time. Otherwise we have a big dinner everynight, except for our F&W night where we have a big lunch so we can eat ourselves around the world! Much more relaxing this way.

Looks like our trip is no longer in danger....

Now that the government is no longer holding social security over our seniors heads... making all of the recipents worry for weeks... I was very concerned that DM would not get her money this month, and I would have to cancel the trip just to pay the rent and car payment!

Not that our government problems are over, just not worrying this month about whether or not we can pay bills.... (and go on vacation)

Glad that you don't have to worry about your trip anymore. That's great!
