September 2010 Check-In

DW and I will be there Sept. 14-18, staying at the Hyatt Regency. I will do a trip report afterwards. My first one :cool1:

As if I couldn't get more excited for the next 2 weeks to pass, I got my email from Disney about getting ready for our vacation!!! :cool1: But then I was bummed, b/c one of the rides they recommended was the Haunted Mansion, and it's closing earlier this year for the change over. :sad1: i don't know why they didn't wait until after Labor Day. I love that ride!

Hello September travelers. I heed your help. I have Discover the Magic tour schedule for myself and DGS(7) and DGS(6) at 10:00 AM - Sunday the 19th. I have BBB reservations for DGD(4) at 10:40 AM - Tuesday the 21st. One of those days we will use our MM and do Fantasyland. MM starts at 8:00 on Sunday, 9:00 on Tuesday. So, which day would be better to use our MM?

The general rule of thumb is to use your MM as early in your trip as possible before you start getting too tired. On our last multi-day trip last December, I found that to be very much the case. I may have been ready to go on days 4 and 5, but it was pulling teeth to get DH and both DDs up and moving by that point in our vacation.

I had the same MM question for those exact same days and all responses said to go on Sunday. I was thinking Sunday would be more crowded because it is a weekend, but I'm going to take everyones advice and go Sunday.

I'm not one to use my first MM available. I always, always prefer doing an MM on a Saturday because of how much busier weekends are and it's also the earlier opening time between the two weekend days that MM is offered. I have this belief that fewer people will go to a MM at 7 as opposed to a MM at 8, lol. Maybe not a huge difference, but a difference nonetheless. I'm also the crazy girl who is up at 5 in the morning regardless of how tired I am or what time I went to sleep the night before, lol, so it's usually no problem for me to be up.

OK, so I lied about getting the post updated today. Tomorrow morning for sure.

I have a quick question. We bought our park hopper tickets from Ares Travel so we have vouchers to exchange for tickets when we get there. We'll arrive in Anaheim on a Saturday but our first day in the parks won't be until Sunday. Can we head to Disneyland on Saturday and exchange them for tickets so we can be proactive and get in the park a bit faster on Sunday? If that's possible is it even worth it? Thanks!

Thanks everyone for your responses about Sunday or Tuesday MM. I think we will plan on Sunday and fall back on Tuesday if it does not work out. Saturday the 18th will be the BIG day we arrive at Disneyland plus a very LONG day as we must leave home at 4:00 AM to catch our plane. I think there will still be plenty of excitement so everyone else can get up early enough for MM Sun - won't be any problem for me.

We are leaving the same day as you! We are flying out of PDX I think at 7:10 with jet blue.

akashellrae - it looks like we will be on the same plane. We will be the large family which includes me (Grandma), DD, DIL, DGS(15), DGS(7), DGS(6), DGD(4).

How fun! I will be with my mom, DH, DD(5), DD(3), and DD(9 months). We are all getting excited. First plane trip for all the kids.

Also, I'm not "earning my ears" anymore under my username!! I jus noticed that I'm now a "mouseketeer!!"

Please advise: should I go to WoC on Friday 17th, first day of Halloween Time, no AP blocks, or should I try it next day, Saturday 18th?
Thanks!
