I know there is a limited number of "free dining" rooms available, but the CM told me it was no problem and I had two weeks to decide before the offer ended...

So I was mis-informed- that is why I am upset.

I am sure I will have a wonderful trip anyhow ;) I love WDW and will go back until I am a headstone at the Haunted Mansion!

Ive posted this a couple of times and this is the last chance Im giving if someone would like our Ohana reservation at 6:50 pm for a party of 5 on Sept 8th. I also have mama melrose at 7:15 Sept 10th. PM asap.

I would think it would work if the current reservation holder just gives the new person the name the reservation is made under and the confirmation number and then you just give the name when you check in.

I did that last year twice. We had one ressie that we opted not to use at the last minute and before I cancelled I asked around (we were at a convention) if any one wanted it. One of our friends took it. The second one was on the same trip. Another of my friends had mentioned that her son really, really wanted to meet Mickey and they were not able to see him in the parks. I had Chef Mickey's booked for a few days later and I offered it to them because we have been there a few times before.

In both cases I just gave them the confirmation number and the name on the ressie.

Sorry you didn't get in on the free dining and that bad the CM misinformed you. When did you call them? I thought you had to book the package by June 22. If it was before then, maybe all the rooms were already booked up. Hopefully the next time they have a promotion you can get in on it.

I sent a PM to someone about this but have not heard back so...:confused3

I have a 2:45 pm Le Cellier reservation for 2 on 9/27 that I no longer need thanks to the generosity of another DISer who gave me a later one (it's our arrival day).

If you'd like it, send me a PM by 10 PM (est) tomorrow (7/9) and I'll randomly select someone. I know not everyone can look at this thread every second and I want to give people an equal chance.

Is this still available? I PM'd you & haven't heard back???

Try again... sometimes you get a different story when you talk to different people. For example, I saw your PM to me... the CM you spoke to told you that you could just use my name/conf #... the CM I spoke to said that is not allowed. So, ????

I am making all these reservations cause I was told it would be no problem if I wanted to add the free dining..

I just called and they told me NO! I could not add the dining...

not available!

even though Disney is still advertising it and I am still within the dates..

grrrr..

I'm confused! :confused3

I asked about transferring an ADR today... 3 CMs told me that they cannot do that as it is against company policy. So, I asked if I could just provide the other person with our name/conf #... they said this is not allowed either. Although, it does seem to work for people... so, maybe we'll just try it. One CM mentioned that is risky, as if the ADR is in my name it may get charged to me... she also mentioned it is especially tricky during free dining promotions. ??

Has anyone made a successful trade lately & if so, how did you go about it?

Okay - I understand what you are saying, but I wouldn't even worry about doing it that way. I know when they seat you, they put a slip of paper on the table that probably has the name the reservation was made under. But by the time you have eaten and give them your room key so they can process it, what are they going to do? At that point you have already eaten and you could make up any old story - my mom or dad or aunt or uncle made the reservation and decided they didn't want to come so we came instead, or whoever made the reservation got sick and stayed back so we came instead. You could act like you are all traveling together or something. At that point I wouldn't think they would even care whose card the credits are deducted from!! I say go for it!

I just thought of this. Back in 2006 we had free dining and my son's girlfriend stayed with us. Even though the reservations were all in my name, on several occasions she pulled out her room key and there was never a problem processing the bill.

My BFF canceled her ADR for 4 at Chef Mickeys for 5:00 on Friday, Sept 11th. They will be dining at a later time. Call Disney if you need it. She didn't want to be double booked. :)

I' ve used another person's info for a ressie before and never had an issue at all. The kids weren't even the same ages the other ressie had and it was for 5 intead of 6 and no one cared.

To trade ressies, just do it at an odd time (we just did it recently at midnight my time) and she cancelled online and I kept refreshing every second-ha! It was also for Le Cellier, but it worked and I got it!! If you both don't mind doing it late, that's the way to go:thumbsup2 With everyone checking online, it would be hard to do it during the day and make the switch.

Yep, our switch worked prefectly! Late at night is the way to go!:thumbsup2

Yeah - I'm worried about doing it that way too. The person that might give me their reservation said that they would just call and switch. I told them Disney might not let them to it that way. I've personally never tried to do it, but I just had a feeling that Disney wouldn't allow switching names on a reservation because they want to make it fair for everyone. I'm hoping to work out another way. I would think it would work if the current reservation holder just gives the new person the name the reservation is made under and the confirmation number and then you just give the name when you check in. I have read that might not work though if the original person wants to make a different reservation for the same time and the system will not allow double bookings.

I don't know - it's just getting to be so difficult to get into the popular restaurants. I'm going to adopt the attitude that if it works out, good - if it doesn't - it certainly isn't going to ruin my trip by any means. There are lots of other very good restaurants at Disney. But I was hoping for some delicious cheddar cheese soup!!

Carol

Yeah, I would probably just show up as the person. That's what I had intended to do originally. Or else try late at night, like other people suggested. I am kind of bummed that I won't be able to try Le Cellier, but I won't let it ruin my trip. A steak can't be that good :rotfl2:

You still have time to keep trying for Le Cellier. When I originally called to make the ADR, the CM told me to try closer to the date of the trip as more people might be apt to cancel the closer it gets.

My parents finally ate there this past March after I had been telling them for the past couple of years that they must try it. So when they got home from their trip, they told me they managed to get a reservation while they were there and that they were not that impressed! They had tried on a couple of other trips to eat there and never could get a reservation. They said it was good, but not as good as I had made it out to be. They said they wouldn't go back. There are a lot of good restaurants at Epcot. I like Chefs de France - very good onion soup - and I really like Coral Reef. I have eaten there twice in the last couple of years and both of my meals were excellent.

Thanks for sharing your positive experiences with trading. I went ahead and gave my name & conf # to the people who wanted my ADRs. Thus, I no longer have Chef Mickey's on 9/26 or Hollywood & Vine on 10/1 to give away.

I am still looking for a Chef Mickey's reservation for 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) for any of the following....

September 29th-- early dinner
Sept 30- Oct 3-- breakfast-- PREFER Oct 1, but will take any day bet 9/30 & 10/3

Thanks!

This is my girlfriend and my favorite restaurant and pretty much 80% of the reason we are going to Disney, we are not doing the parks this time. We are in desperate need of a Ohana ressie at any time for any day between september 27th, 28th or 29th...The only ressies I made were for a 10:30 Boma breakfast on the 28th and Kona that evening at 8:30..Sorry I do not have much to offer but if anyone can provide me Ohana that would be awesome!! Also this is for a party of 2. Please pm!

Anybody have a Tusker House ADR on 9/16 for 8AM they dont want or need??
Party of 4...........:)

Here is the deal if anyone out here is 1 person please be a female and single and under 40 or look under 40 lol I have room at Lecell for you 2 different people could join me one each night Friday and Saturday nights Sept 25th and 26th so let me know if want to be my dinner partner or date .

We got the 8:05a seating, so I have an 8:15a seating at Hollywood & Vine at MGM on September 28 for 6 (4a, 2c). Gotta get a jump on those TSM FPs!!

I deleted the confirmation number, so I will have to call and get it if anyone wants it, or we can just meet you at MGM that day, or I can give you my name, or, or, or...
