September 2009 ADR Wanted/Trade/Exchange/Canceled

Hi All:

I'm unfamiliar with this trading ADRs thread, someone referred me here. Does it actually work to cancel and have someone else pick up the reservation immediately?

I have a Tusker House Donald Breakfast on 9/20 at 9:50AM I need to get rid of.

And I'd like to trade for an earlier time for 1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian with Mary Poppins and Friends 10:10AM on 9/23.

If you cancel the Tusker House please let me know.

Posting a cancellation after it's done doesn't really seem to help much. I caught a posting on a cancellation within 4 minutes of it being posted yesterday, and was never able to find it either by phone or online.

I am interested in swapping for CRT from 9/26 to 9/30 for breakfast or lunch. I am also interested in Chef Mickey's anytime, 1900 Park Fare, or Norway Princess. Most of the time I'd need a party of three or four with maybe a party of 6 at times. This is what I have to trade 9/17 1900 park Fair at 7:00 for 3, 9/18 Princess Norway at 12:00 for 3, 9/19 Crystal Palace at 8:05 for 3, 9/19 12:00 CRT for 3, 9/20 Fantasmic dinner at H&V for 3, 9/22 Boma 5:50 for 3, 9/23 12:15 Le Celier for 3, 9/24 Princess Norway at 12:00 for 6, 9/25 1:05 at CRT for 6, 9/26 Chef Mickey's at 9:05 for 9. I think the larger ones can be reduced down. Let me know if you are interested in anything to trade!

I did not post it after it was canceled if you read back through the posts. I posted last night at 9:01 and then canceled it about 30-45 minutes later. The user above asked if it was gone at 9:59 last night and by that time I had canceled and logged off for the night so I thought the nice thing to do was respond to her question.

If you coordinate the cancellation with someone who wants it then it does work. I was just letting someone know in case they wanted it.

Just so you know I did try to coordinate with a user who was looking for Coral Reef but she stated she could not use it so I canceled.

Actually, I was able to get an ADR because someone posted that they just cancelled, and I was able to snag it. I appreciate it when people post, even if they have just cancelled. Sorry it didn't work for you, but maybe someone else on the DIS saw it posted a minute before you did and booked it. It might have helped someone here, unfortunately it wasn't you. Keep trying, hopefully you can get what you are looking for.

I just called dining to do my daily search for CG for 10/1 and I asked the CM to go over my ressies for the week. Lo and behold there where 4 ADR's that I never knew I made. The screen went white and blank after clicking checkout and I never got a confirmation email. The system had quit working after that and I forgot about them. Anyway, she "made" me cancel them because they were double booked (which was fine because I didn't need them nor knew I had them) so here they are in case someone needs them. Sorry I couldn't offer them before they were canceled.

She said they are really cracking down on double bookings and said it was a major problem and "if it couldn't be controlled they would be getting rid of the online booking system."

FYI...I just spotted quite a few breakfast & lunch reservations at Hollywood Studio on Sept. 30th. Among the selections were Play n Dine character breakfasts, Sci-Fi lunches, and Brown Derby Lunches.

I have another Make a Wish family that needs your help...if you guys can help.

They have been trying to get ressies for their family and have had no luck...I have tried for days and I am getting frustrated, too...I guess it is the Free Dining because has not been this hard before...

They have a party of 8 - but they will split up and let the extended family sit out...

In the main family there are 2A, 2C and 4A in the extended family.

We are looking for:

9/28/09 - Monday - Sci Fi Diner (ONLY FOR 4 - 2A, 2C)

9/30/09 - Wednesday - Crystal Palace Breakfast or Lunch anytime
9/30/09 - Wednesday - Cali Grill, or Ohana's - Dinner anytime

Any help would be greatly appreciated! You guys came through for our last wish family and I am hoping you can help with this one.

I booked the 3:15 at Crystal Palace party of 8. I didn't know if it would work or not (the time) but I took it anyway just in case. Your PMs are full so I hope you check this! Let me know and I will give you the info or cancel.

For most ADR (the ones you don't have to give a CC to hold) you can just PM someone with the information and what name the ressie is under. Then that person just shows up at the hostess at the time of the ressie and gives the name of the reservation. No need to cancel and then someone try to get that reservation before it is snagged by someone else.

Last year I gave a resservation number and my last name to someone and they had no problem getting a table. If you don't want to give your information, then you can call and change the name of the reservation yourself and just give the person the reservation number.

Hope this helps anyone out there. I was lucky enough to get everything except MBYBBQ this year. Wish I could help the rest of you out. Don't forget to keep trying up to the day of dining. I was in Iraq in 2007, and missed out on CRT for breakfast and SoA, and I just kept calling everyday (yes I called everyday from Iraq) until I got a reservation. And, I was lucky enough to actually get them both.

I decided to swap my Hollywood Studio dining reservations around so we have breakfast & lunch ADR's instead of lunch and dinner ADR's. Because of the change I plan to cancel the following around 3:30 ET today.

Wed. Sept. 30th Hollywood and Vine at 2:00 p.m.
Wed. Sept. 30th Sci-Fi Dinner at 7:10 p.m.

Both reservations are for parties of 5 (2 adults & 3 children)
