I was told that it has changed starting this year. If you have a promotion it is only good for the dates listed. The CM I spoke with said that if a promotion ends on the 30th of a month and your vacation starts on the 29 that you only get those 2 days at that price. Now, I didn't hang up and call back so you could be right, I could have just gotten an uninformed CM, but he did say that this policy is new. :confused3

That is correct for most promos Disney offers now. And it is rumored that free dining is going to be that way too this year. But won't know till it comes out.

this thread is making my head hurt:headache:

Ok.. Im thinking I will try to patiently wait till april and just book by then with or without free dining.. my biggest stress point is booking ADR's for things like Hoop De Doo, and other popular restaraunts... If I wait too long, being able to book up to 180 days in advance might make it hard to get those ADRs.. I just hope it wont be that difficult to change my reservation to reflect free dining IF they do offer it...

I plan on staying at POp but if i had to change to all star, thats fine as well. I also need to book airfare and wont be able to change the dates once we have the airfare booked. :confused3

one last thing... i hope they run the promo until the end of sept.. We setteled on the 20th - 27th.

sorry for rambling..as i always do lol

=P

Looks like alot of us will be there at the end of September. I was scared that we wouldnt make free dining if they ended early. I feel totally guilty taking my daughter out of first grade, but were not able to go in August. I was also under the impression that there was a Holiday at the end of the month, os maybe they wont miss that much school? Anyway, Pop Century here we come!

1990- Polynesian Beach Resort (High School Graduation)
1997- Carribean Beach Resort (Honeymoon)
1998- Port Orleans Resort (1 year Anniversary)
2001- Corronado Springs Resort (Dads 60th B-Day)
2002- All-Star Sports (Daughters Birthday)
2004- Pop Century
2005- All-Star Movies
2006- Pop Century
2007- First Disney Cruise April 28th,-May 5th Disney Magic!

Oh your just fine. I too have had those same concerns. Just join in and enjoy the ride. There's not much we can do to change Disney timing.

If that happens they should call back and get a different CM. It's 100% possible to book from the last day of free dining out. Those people must be getting uninformed CMs.

the other way of looking at it, and more probable from the person I know who did call back and was told the same thing. by another CM... maybe those of us who got the free dining past the last date got the uniformed CM.. the ones who didn't know the rule changed. :confused3
Many posters from various threads have indicated they were quoted the new rule.
I will continue to hope that it can be booked from the last day through the entire stay.. but also want to share what I have learned..

Also, a CM i spoke with recently indicated that the bounceback i booked in Sept for free dining did not sell as well as expected, so maybe if/when they offer it again, they will allow it if reservations are down...

Hoping for Free Dining for all!! :goodvibes

We booked the Coronado Springs on a Bounceback offer when we were at the Pop last December. The flyer was left in our room offering 30% off Moderate Resorts. We originally booked for the end of September but just recently changed it to August 10-14 without a problem. Also we added the dining plan and tickets and were able to keep the 30% off rate. So I think we got a good deal. If free dining is offered we may have to rethink this but I don't remember seeing it available that early in August.

Please forgive me if this was already covered by someone else but...
If I change my booking now and go with AAA to get the MUCH lower rates they are offering me and then the free dining comes out, will AAA be able to get the use the free dining codes on my res. or will I lose all AAA discounts if I chose free dining?
Thanks in advance!

If you switch to free dining yo uwill lose the AAA discount.

Going to French Quarters Sept 18 - 22. Got am email for 20% off. Can't wait:banana:

If you want to get the premuim dining package, will you have to pay full price if free dining is offered, or do you pay a special price?

A special price I would think. We are paying about $32/pp/night for deluxe since we booked with bounceback. (last September we made the ressie when we were down there.) :woohoo:

We are paying the difference between the regular dining plan and the deluxe which comes out to be like $32 I think. My DD is an additional $10/day.

If free dining does come out I would assume that you could upgrade & pay the difference in cost. ;)

:goodvibes

My sister received an email from disney (cardholder) for "free" upgrade.. to hopper and water park option with standard room..value resort. bla bla

Im still holding out for free dining.. i think im going to call this weekend and compare deals... I would want a preferred room instead of standard. standard was a b*tch last time @POP.. we had to walk soooo far to the buses and foodcourt. i said i would never stay in standard again.

also, I have to find out which airlines are hooked up with disney and work with magical express.. with the whole luggage thing.. being able to bypass baggage claim and such... last time I booked air through disney it was a great deal.. but they screwed up on some names... if i do it again ill make sure its right this time..

ok..end of ramble.. =P

ill let ya know what I come up with after I call this weekend.

From what I know, when yo uuse ME you don't ever have to handle your bags. But some participating airlines let you pre check in at the resorts. But you still never have to handle the bags even if you don't pre check in. At least from what I've been told.
