When I was talking with the CM he mentioned that they just started offering free dining for September. I didn't ask for any other info because I am going in April. It doesn't hurt to call. One other thing---when I called he said let me look in the internet to see what code is out there for April. He rattled off about 10 codes. This is the 1st time anyone was sooooo helpful.:rotfl2:

I called today to ask a question/make a change. I asked about discounts while I was on the line and I was told there were no offers for the time I'm going to be there (Aug 30 - Sept 6). The CM told me to check the disney website for codes and if one applies to me to call back later. But nothing now... :sad2:

The race is on Sat Sept 27th at 7:00 pm.

I just booked for September with a 20% off. Because of our family size, we booked ASMu Family Suites. I want to see what the fuss is all about (vs. 2 joining rooms).

The CM -- who was quite pleasant -- told me a few things:
1) Family Suites get very little discounted pricing
2) He didn't indicate one way or another if they will be doing free dining this year but said if it was going to be offered it would be coming out sometime in April or even as late as June.
3) MNSSHP info should be out in April.

As for getting the discount I did, I'm basing it on the rack rate on wdw website (of 184/nite in value season) I was quoted 147/nite, which is roughly 20% off. I told the CM I recv'd a post card in the mail awhile back but threw it out b/c I thought we weren't going to be able to go (This is true - however, I don't recall what the promotion was for - I know, dumb me! But we went to DL last March and I didn't think Dh would entertain another trip again.) So, I was prepared to book with AAA if possible, but the CM said he saw the "promotion" under my name and I didn't need the postcard anyway -- then quoted me the 147 price, which again is about 20% off -- and since AAA's discount is typically 20% off, I guess kind of bittersweet b/c it's no more or less than I'd expected/hoped for upon making my call.

Anyway, whether we like it or not, I guess we're all stuck in the waiting game. I'm really hoping for free dining b/c the savings would be greater for our family than the 20% off -- however, I don't know if you can attach free dining to suites... when I mentioned it the CM didn't say I couldn't if it comes up, but you never know! Anyone here know?

I was under the impression that the suites were not able to get the free dining. That's why we book to rooms. We booked with AAA.

if you can book free dining from the last day and then x # of additional day out is not that cut and dry... I am one of the lucky ones who has done this.. I have read many a posters indicate they were told they could not?? They were very informed posters who knew what they were doing and asking for so I'm not sure how some of us got it and others didn't, but I am considering myself one of the luck few who did.

bounceback has already been offered to those whow were there last sept, I believe that was a first for sept vactioners, and I think to some european vactioners after that, I do not think and Free Dining Promo is going on now
but the next "hopefully" promotion will likely be in April sometime...

Good Luck

I just called to make sure they were not offering free dinning at this time. The CM I talked to said that they would probably offer FD by April but it could be as late as June when they finally offer it.

If you book your stay beginning the last day of free dining you will get it for your entire stay. I've done it that way every year it's been offered so far. If the CM tells you it's not possible, say thank you, hang up and call back. You need only check in by the last day of the promotion to have your entire stay covered... unless they change it in the future.

As for the suites, in the past they have not been eligible for free dining. However, this past September when bounceback was offered some people were able to successfully book suites with free dining. I don't know how many were available, but I do know that I read reports of several people being able to book them. I wouldn't count on it, but it wouldn't hurt to ask either, should free dining be offered again. Is a family suite absolutely necessary? Could you not go with two rooms at a value instead?

I am hoping for free dining too! I have never subscribed to the DIS Board but I finally decided to join.

I am hoping that by subscribing I will get an email from someone telling me when this offer is available. Is this correct???:confused3

I'm just new to this --

Already booked the hotel for Sept. -- and we can't wait!!:rotfl:

Does this mean you can't get BOTH bounceback discount and free dining? Is that because it's two different codes or something??

As far as I know that's right, you have to pick which one is worth it for your situation. But check with a CM first, different situations may apply but from all I have read and from previous conversations with the CM's you can only apply one code to a ressie.

(Subscribing)

Sept. cant' come quick enough! Hoping to trade in our 20% AAA room-only res for something a little juicier... free dining or one of those 40% mailings I keep hearing about.

If that happens they should call back and get a different CM. It's 100% possible to book from the last day of free dining out. Those people must be getting uninformed CMs.

I was told that it has changed starting this year. If you have a promotion it is only good for the dates listed. The CM I spoke with said that if a promotion ends on the 30th of a month and your vacation starts on the 29 that you only get those 2 days at that price. Now, I didn't hang up and call back so you could be right, I could have just gotten an uninformed CM, but he did say that this policy is new. :confused3
