September 2007 savings

Does anyone know how many free dining rooms they offer at the different resorts? Do they offer more at the value and moderate resorts than at the deluxe?

I am hoping we can stay at WL in 2007. My DH is leaning towards POFQ. We'll see who wins that battle...

We would not let it ruin ours either. This will be our first time at WL and it would be "really" nice to have that perk eh?

That is a great question. You might want to post it as a seperate thread.

Hope you win the battle!

Denise

Yeah, I hope I win that battle too. I keep telling my DH all the benefits of WL, hoping that he'll give in. Last month was our second time there and I just love it.

Maybe I will post the question about free dining as a seperate thread. Since I am new at this whole thing I am kind of nervous about starting one. :scared:

Don't be nervous. Unless you are posting about refillable mugs, pool hopping, chair saving, sneaking more than 5 people into a room, passing a 4 year old for under 3 or buying an AP just to get room discounts, you should be fine! :thumbsup2 The above topics have caused many an OP to go up in flames!

Wow and my husband thinks I am crazy for starting to plan our next disney trip the night I returned from 6 days at the GF during Free Dining in late Sept/early Oct. I too want to go back next year, but it is more likely that it'll be 2008. Maybe if a great deal comes out and I can convince the husband, we will do it again in Sept 2007. Keep posting any updates.

I had guessed from my months of lurking that those topics were big "no-no's". The one thing I can't understand is why would some one want to sneak more that 5 people in a room... :crowded:

Thanks for the encouragement. I am going to go post my question now and see if anyone knows the answer. I guess on the "resorts" forum.

I waited exactly 2 days after we returned home from our trip in Sept/Oct to book. We love this time of year at WDW. We stayed at POP but wanted to stay at a deluxe next time for more days, so I booked early so we had a few extra months to pay it off. :thumbsup2 It would be fantastic to have the free dining again, but I will take any discount I can get my hands on. :)

It is hard to wait. This was the first time in a long time we left WDW with out knowing exactly when we'd be back. It made me so depressed. I told my DH that even if it's years in to the future we have to have a plan when we leave. I like to talk about our next trip on our last night there. My husband knows I am crazy when it comes to Disney but he knew what he was in for :teeth:

We loved this time of year too. Aside from the love bugs. Did they bother your kids? My oldest DD (9) has told everyone she can about them. I am sure people wonder if she actually enjoyed her vacation or just obsessed about the love bugs.

You'll enjoy WL I"m sure! As for me I just keep telling myself "I am going to wait to book...I am going to wait...I may be able to wait?"

I have a 4 yo and a 6 yo and the love bugs did not bother them. Of course we went at the end of Sept into the first week of October. They were not as bad as earlier in the month I guess. By the time we left they were pretty much gone.

Good luck, I hope you get your trip. We had not been since 2004 and with the kids a bit older, we had a blast. I think we will make a yearly trip at this time every year and fit US / IOA in a couple times as well.

Denise

Does anyone here know about when to expect the discounts to be published/available? Of course with the big celebration there may not be any, but let's not go there...

Thanks in advance!

Congrats to the OP :sunny:

I had a question about the free dining.

If you book your trip w/the disney visa can you then pay off the trip with a different cc?

TIA

Beachgrl,

I believe that you can. Without any problems. I did this. :thumbsup2

Congratulations! We are going Labor day weekend and at the end of Sept beginning of Oct. so we can go to the MNSSHP! I cannot wait! It will be hot enough to go to the water parks too! Hooray! We've never been before! See ya in September!!!

This will be my third Sept trip. I did not go this past Sept '06 but went Sept '04 and '05. I went during free dining in Sept '05 and it was announced first week of June like the 1st or 3rd day of June. Also there are limited #'s per resort location. We absoutely loved free dining and had already planned to pay for it and when it came out just added to our existing package and saved almost $600  . More importantly I think that everything hinges on the National Weather Service Hurricane report and outlook for Hurricane season and if they need to pump up business. The first year they offered free dining it was like a ghost town to me but the Hurricane outlook was bad. I do believe they will offer it again next year until the bad Hurricane season is out of people's mind and willing to travel.

I am glad to know they were almost gone by that time. I want to go the last week of Sept into Oct next year to get in MNSSHP and go to the F&WF. It will be our first trip to WDW!

I haven't left yet for this year's trip - 24 more days! But am already planning a Sept trip next year. I have my non-expiring tickets and am hoping for free dining! When should a person begin watching every day for it to be sure of getting the resort you want? Next year - unless CSR is really incredible this year - I want to go back to POR. I have also thought about renting points and going to a DVC. Can you get free dining if you do that? Or just the dining plan. If I have to buy dining it appears I would spend the same doing that as getting free dining and paying for a regular room. Any thoughts on that?

The leftover tickets won't help you unfortunately. In order to get free dining (if offered) you must purchase a complete package with room and tickets. The room rate must be at rack-rate, no discounts. Renting DVC points will NOT get you free dining. If you want to stay at a DVC resort and pay CRO rack rate, you can get free dining. Last year it was released to the general public on April 3/4 I believe. Hope this helped some. :)

Thanks Soccer Princess. I think I have heard though that DVC people can get the dining plan... Do you know if that is possible if you rent points? I will start looking the beginning of April then. I may be better off to buy a one day basic ticket and get free dining at POR.....

If you are a DVC owner or are renting points, you are able to puchase the dining plan without purchasing tickets. :) If they continue to keep the free dining with a one-day ticket as in the past, you will need to crunch numbers. If they change it next year for the US like they did for the UKL you will need to purchase at least a 4-5? day ticket in order to get free dining, in which case, you may be better off renting points. :)

Hooray! I'm not the only one who wants to go back as soon as I come home (and back to work). I just booked for September 29,2007 at AKL for a week. We went to CSR last week, but found that the bunk beds for us are a must!
Now the hard part - - waiting and hoping for a code; any code is all right by me! :sunny:
