Hey Poohbear,

The GlOW party was a great success We had about 40 people that were glowing from head to toe It was wonderful meeting everyone. I must say that getting up the next morning after a late night of cocktails was a bit tough

just learned about five minutes ago Disney bought an ocean front property in Hawaii and it will start building in 2008!

I think you can change dates but I would get your dates nailed down before then. I know last year they started running out of rooms for the promo. As for my dates, I am also up in the air "If" I go, it will be the same dates as my BFF Bonzi

And if I didnt have a son who would just DIE if I went without him, I would TOTALLY go solo. You guys should do it.

I also booked and bought the plane tickets for Jan 26 - 29th (3 nights at POP!)

Soooooo excited! In less then 2 weeks, Ill be in double digits....again.

Hey Cat! So you switched on us huh? That's ok, because I am not sure if Lori and I are sticking with our dates or not either.

I wish we could go again so soon, but it's so hard with a whole day of travel there and back. If I could get a direct flight that would make it a lot easier for sure.

Folks, thought I would let you all know that we got home, safely, late last night. As my brain has not kicked in yet and I am set to pick up two grandsons from school in a bit (half day of school) I do not have the time nor brain cells to write a proper message that can fully explain what a wonderful thing it was to meet many of you. So many regrets in that I was a whole bunch under the weather and attempting to keep my dh's head above water at the same time so I was not quite up to being my 'real' self.

Kellie and Pooh, thank you so much for all your hard work. You are such generous folks.

Bonz. are you aware that you were leaving phone messages on my HOME phone rather than my cell? I kept checking my cell every day and kept thinking of you the whole trip. I am so glad that I was able to spend a tiny bit of time with you anyway. Maybe we should plan a meet mid Indiana sometime?

This is the best I can do right now. Will be back with some erudite and pithy comments later.

Nancy ran into me near the Land (right? That's the name of it?) right before we were headed off to dinner... I complained that we'd be stuck with Marrakesh because Teppanyaki was still closed for refurbishing. Nancy mentioned I should try to get in ELSEWHERE...

Well, we tried two places in Epcot and both told us they were NOT accepting walk-ins because they were booked full (which is different from what the Disboards has said- according to the almight Dis, they always accept walk-ins. Hahaha- fat chance during free dining!).

The skies cracked open and began to pour on us, so we decided just to head to Marrakesh to eat.

Man, oh man...

We would have done better to go back to Pop's food court and picked up CS there then to eat at Marrakesh.

I will say- the appetizers, while they sounded disgusting, were actually not too bad- but out of three adult meals- NONE of us liked them. And actually, my 11 year old son cheated and used my DAUGHTER's child credit (she was with the grands this night so she wasn't eating with us) so he could get spaghetti instead of ordering off of the adult menu!


So, Nancy, I bow before you- you were soooo right!

No don't do that I just know from our experience last year it was really really bad. I know bf was wanting so badly to go to the Marrakesh and it he was so disappointed in it, all I was doing was giving you are point of view on the thingy. I am really sorry that you guys had such a bad night.

I don't understand why they weren't taking walk ups last year we had no problem at all in fact we switched alot of our ADR's. We would cancel adr's that day or before and just walk up to a rest. and get in no problem I don't understand why this year is so different.

We tried doing walk-ups at EVERY restaurant in Epcot the next day because we had missed our morning buffet at Boma. Every single one turned us down- the only one they could get us in was Marakesh again (and my little sister who has no opinions of her own said NO! LOL!)- so it was pretty bad!

Reading through posts I have read alot about that happening. I am just surprised to see this happening after last year being able to get into pretty much anywhere we wanted to.

We were forced to do a bit of repostitioning on meals here and there and I called from the room and was mostly able to get what I wanted. I did find that even if I could not get the exact time I wanted if I took any ressie I could show up early or a bit late and get in when I actually wanted as long as I had some sort of a ressie. Having a car and being able to go out of the parks was a big help.

Spoodles was our worst meal. I will write about it in my TR. We did Marakesh last year and I was bummed cause the menu and pictures outside were not the same as what was offered inside and I had dreamed of "Crepe Atlas" forever. Did not try this year.

Seems it is a bad sign when there is availability at a restaurant during Free Dining. The quality of many of the meals was way down too. A few exceptions here and there though.

When we went last September, we noticed alot of people being turned away who did not have ADR's. I forget which resturant we were in, but the waitress told us that the dining plan had been overbooked, so there really was not availability anywhere.
