YAY! The countdown is finally getting close enough to make me happy. I hate seeing a 4 month away ticker.


The bad thing is I got laid off today. I'm only a part time worker, so it's a PITA to collect unemployment. My job says it's only for 2 - 3 months. I'm deciding whether I should wait it out or not.


Congrats, angwill on winning! It's nice to hear somebody winning sweepstakes. That way we know they're real. If that was the 4th prize I bet the grand prize was great.

hey gals, not having a great day my aunt was sent home from the hospital to pass and the hospice nurse said that she has about 24hours left so I guess this will make 7 people that I love and cared for that will have passed away in the last month and half.

I am so sorry about your loss. Losing people you care about is never easy. Losing so many in such a short time makes it even harder. My thoughts and paryers go out to you.

What they say is true, calories do not count at DW. I only eat what I actually want and last time (21 days) I came home 4 pounds lighter so this time (24 days) I hope to come home even lighter IF I can avoid coming home through Ohio where my family lives. For some reason I gain big time whenever I get near them.

I hope the calories don't count this year for me either. I've never gained weight in Disney due to all the walking, but I've been trying not to put back on all the weight I lost. It's hard not to in the summer with all the ice cream available.

I've gotta question- is anyone else pulling their kids out of school to go in September?

Me, me- I am! Anyways, they'll miss about 6 days of school- that's just life though. I know kids that miss more days 'faking' illnesses. Anyways- should I send a letter that FIRST day of school or should I wait until the next week when things settle down? First week isn't until August 26th- so it's already about two weeks out from our vacation time.

I have been pulling my kids out since my 16 y/o was in 1st grade - no joke.

And every year I get anxious and nervous theyre going to say no, and every year I build myself up ready to have to have to 'cop an attitude' and every year it turns out fine.

But I'm still ready to tell them to get bent.

Were taking our son out of school this year. We took him out 2 years ago and his teacher was great about it and wanted us to take her with. The only bad thing was she gave him his homework the day he left and wanted it back the day he came back which was the day after we got home. Luckily we drove and he was able to get it all done in the car with one on one help from me.

This year he is in 7th grade which will be harder since last year about 3 days a week he had about 5 hours of homework per night but as long as he does the work he will get what he needs out of it even if he gets an F for turning it in a bit late (if they don't turn in the work during class they get an automatic 0). We will also have to inform several teachers this time but there is no testing that week and my son is a good student so I am not too concerned. He knows we feel school is extremely important and we feel family time is just as important.

I think it depends on what state and area you live in on what the schools rules are about days off and the consequences they choose to impose. Our school just makes it hard by insisting the work be turned in when they get back or they get a 0. I will also get a nasty note saying how I am adversly effecting my son's education as well as the schools budget by allowing my son to miss school. If he misses over 10 days the rule is a truant officer calls but unless he gets really sick we won't have that happen. I don't know if they give a lecture or what since he never missed that many days.

Thanks, everyone- I guess I'm probably working myself up over nothing. I DO feel anxious about it. I'm pretty sure my daughter's teacher will be cool with it- it's my son's school that really... worries me. Just because it's a new school for him and because they have all of these crazy rules (they won't deliver messages from parents, you can't drop something off in the middle of the school day, they are wearing school uniforms in a public school, etc).



Okay- new question Sounds like Teppanyaki will be closed and we had ressies there. Where should we make ressies? We already have them at 9 Dragons, Biergarten, WCC, Boma, Play & Dine at Hollywood & Vine, ummm, 50s Primetime Cafe. Suggestions for our new ressie?
