Hi guys... :wave2:

Hate to tell you that I just had to cancel our cruise with you guys. So the Walt Suite is available if you want to bite the bullet and go all the way!

DD won't be able to miss that much school. :teacher:

Hope you guys have a WONDERFUL sailing though!

Kendra

Oh...

Just realized I have to take my signature off and have nothing to replace it with...

Kendra total BUMMER!!!!

We will miss you guys a whole bunch, best to James and the family.

Hey we could all tutor the kids and they would get a great education. Really, have them do a special project.

I had thought beginning of the school year was better than our usual May cruise times.

Big mistake. We're still paying from last month. Although she's only in 3rd this year, she missed learning HOW to take the spelling tests, vocab. tests, setting up her homework folder, assignments, etc.

So, in addition to spring loading her with multiplication and division facts, Constitution vs. Declaration of Independence, Amendments vs. Bill of Rights, etc. we have to get her up to speed on daily procedure and protocol.

Now, multiply this by 2 weeks instead of one, and factor in fractions, Algebra, integers, and who knows what else? In our school, 4th grade is the "Hard" year, 3rd is easy.

So, I'm worried that if we're having such trouble this year from our 1 week, next year will just not be worth it. :earseek:

Too bad the teachers don't agree with me that life has other important issues - friends, extra curricular activities, sports, etc. She has THREE hours of homework every day this year! :confused3

Kendra, we do understand, as it could be frustrating for Kelsey.

I could do the Constitution part and early American History, as one of my BA degrees is in American History. I could also do a environmental studies tract as that is what my MA is in.

I would promise not to teach it from the job perspective. LOL That might make a good comedy routine.

You know I'll be watching and waiting. Keeping fingers crossed it's when school is out and I'll be there! :cheer2: Perhaps I can just stowaway by myself in a lifeboat suite? :teeth:

papa - that is a cute countdown timer :smooth: !

Kendra - So sorry that you have to cancel :guilty: . I like seeing your doggie pic in your posts :dog2: :paw: , I guess they won't be in this thread anymore.

Heidi, Bob had it in his signature so I just stole it :rotfl2: Thanks Bob for putting it in your signature so that us lazy people could make our posts look better. Four days at sea will make for a relaxing cruise. Mike

Off to work I Go,,, Peter

Peter, my guess would a whole bunch, more that we have for sure.

Well we are having a nice sunny day, as that is a good thing today. We leave shortly for a dry suit dive class in Jenny Lake at the base of the Teton. The sun will feel nice between and after the dives. Water temps will be in the low 50’s and air temp is now a toasty 35.

Wilma is really hitting Mexico and I wonder how that will affect the diving in that area for the next couple or more years. South FL is getting ready; I hope she looses some strength before she arrives.

We are being told to expect between at cat one and cat 2 here on the east coast but they are saying things could change. The storm path has not changed at all and it expected to come towards us here in Jupiter. Either way we are going to get something. All of the shutters are up and now we just wait. They are getting some serious rain down in the Ft Lauderdale area. Key West dive areas could get some damage - I know that the stone crab people are expecting a big hit to their business. I feel bad for the small business owners down there - they are losing some serious cash this week - Fantasy Fest (Key West's version of Mardi Gras) was supposed to start this weekend. This is the 3rd time this year that they have evacuated.

There is one thing bad about dry suits and it has to do with something you can do in a wet suit that you don't want to do in a dry suit.

Okay I had to come out of lurkage for that one....
SCOTT!!! Totally TMI!! :faint:

Elaine... do not cancel the cruise. Wilma is a freak :crazy:and by the time she gets over this way she'll be nothing but a tropical storm or Cat 1. :umbrella: Meantime we do have TS Alpha to deal with now.....LOL ;)

So much fun living in So. FLA. :cool1:

Sorry

Had a great couple of dives today. Vis was aboout 50' . I forgot to get a water temp. Found a pair of sunglasses, and cleaned up some trash. Saw quite a few baby trout and a neat area of an underwater forest.

You guys in FL be safe and be careful.

Our thoughts go out to those of you in Florida in Wilma's path. Hopefully she will die down.

Okay guys I need all your help.

My Mom is watching CNN and they are talking about Hurricane Wilma and Mom just informed me that she wants me to cancel our 11 day cruise....she said she is very scared to sail during hurricane season after seeing the destruction of Katrina and now they are saying Wilma may be more destructive...I must admit I am a little scared as well.

What do I do...how can I convince her that it will be okay...it will be okay, right????

Being at sea when a hurricaine comes along is no problem- the ship changes itineraries. The Captain does not want to endanger his ship. The only potential problem is boarding the ship if they close the port (it's no problem for disembarking, if the port is closed-more days onboard!). Right now, cruises scheduled for the western Carribean are headed to the eastern Carribean. Just a different adventure than they planned. Same boat, same crew, same fellow guests, and after all, the crew and fellow guests are what make each cruise special. Don't worry, be happy. Just have a wonderful cruise. Alex :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

It seems every time we have a hurricaine, I am scheduled to work at the hospital on Labor & Delivery (I'm working Monday). All the low pressure brings alot of ladies into the hospital in labor. So not only am I stuck at work, I'm very busy as well. I hope Wilma doesn't head any further north like Charlie did. Alex :confused3 :confused3 :confused3
